All language to stifle descent from a wayward papacy, one that rejects the law as an absolute, one that looks on orthodoxy to the teachings of the faith as legalistic, one that looks at abortion (the killing of innocent babies in the womb) as equivalent to illegal immigration, one that welcomes Sodomy, Contraception, Fornication and other deadly sins. Stay faithful to the unchanging truths of the faith or you will loose your soul. If you don't know them, then get a Catholic Catechism for starters, because damnation in hell fire is literal and eternal no matter what the progressive pastors of the church claim.

    Brian,

Thank you for posting these, they're beautiful!

I don't believe that he would ever steer us in the wrong direction, iow, I think he will always steer us straight to Christ.

PS- The first photo is my favorite of the two.

No offence to anyone. This was in response to Padraig's post ending with a girl, with the steam coming out of her ears. LOL

I've been busy with work the past 2 days and have just caught up with the postings on this thread.

The posts quoted above have captured what I sincerely feel.

In bringing up questions (and giving my thoughts) on the situation which we have with the 2 popes now, about the validity of P Benedict's resignation and P Francis' election, while considering all the statements by various people, the many prophecies we've been given and the actual mess that the Catholic Church is in now, I am only trying to determine the truth.

What DivineMercy said (in bold) holds true for me:

Here, I don't understand how we can have a free discussion if we are told that we should only wonder privately in our minds.

I watched two video's today on Bishop Schneider's talks on the Kingship of Christ and then a Q&A posted below. Although published in 2016, it is very relevant now. @ around the 21 mark he speaks about schism, he also speaks about the Fillial Correction and immigration further on. Definitely a very holy man! Brian is very fortunate (y)

There is again, a misunderstanding of what I said.
    This is what I said:
In that statement, the word validity was in reference to disobedience to this pope, as in:
'Finally, some clear statements about the validity of disobedience to this pope.'
I never intended to say that Cardinal Burke has claimed that PF is an invalid pope. That would indeed be a serious misrepresentation of what he said.

I have no intention whatsoever of leaving the one true, holy, Catholic and apostolic Church.

By bringing up questions that I feel need explaining, my intention is to have a discussion in order to know the truth.

Like I said in reply to Dolours on an earlier post, by God's grace, I will never leave the Catholic Church.

Far be it from me to encourage anyone else to do so.

But the questions I have in my mind do not go away if no reasonable and convincing answers are given.

Every time I have brought them up for discussion, I have been shot down. This despite my posing them as questions/doubts/my thoughts.

Cries of sedevacantism and schism immediately ensued.

    What then should I do?

I understand your dilemma. Shutting down questions doesn't help. You have to keep on seeking truth SG. I do. We all do. All of us are struggling through this morass. I don't think we should be using terms like schism at each other either. Everyone here is a devout Catholic. Questions have to be asked and discussions are in order for sure. This is how we support each other. We all know the Church is in deep trouble. We have to be patient with each other. Things sometimes get heated around here. I've noticed that.

To my mind free discussion does not mean discussion without limits. If a Muslim came on here and started telling us all how wrong Christianity is then I don't think that should be allowed. Similarly errors which are damaging to the Church and to people's faith such as sedevacantism should not be allowed either. Those types of things in no way lead people to the truth. They lead people to Hell.

I wonder about a great many things I do not post about in charity and for the care of others' souls. Something I think may be an honest curiosity may lead someone else to take that thought to an extreme.

Of course this is not my forum, I am only expressing my opinion of what should be allowed, not making any definitive line about what you are able to post. I am not even a moderator. Post whatever you wish and if Padraig thinks it goes too far he will deal with it.

I like you very much SG, but I have seen you tread into very dangerous waters at times and post things which could lead others to follow you there. Those are the sorts of things that in my mind have no place on a Catholic forum.

Sg, I am glad to see that you corrected your original comment about Cardinal Burke's recent statements #6547.

As you stated the following was your original comment,

    SgCatholic said:
Finally, some clear statements about the validity and necessity of disobedience to this pope.
and you have changed it in this new post to the following,

    SgCatholic said:
'Finally, some clear statements about the validity of disobedience to this pope.'
In addition, I am glad that you added the following,

    SgCatholic said:
I never intended to say that Cardinal Burke has claimed that PF is an invalid pope.

But I want to add this,
I should be able to make a general statement about Sedevacantism and you should not always assume that it is pointed at you.

The following statement of yours from the above post is an exaggeration imho,

But the questions I have in my mind do not go away if no reasonable and convincing answers are given.
Every time I have brought them up for discussion, I have been shot down. This despite my posing them
as questions/doubts/my thoughts. Cries of sedevacantism and schism immediately ensued.

You ask "What then should I do?",

I think that you should be more careful about how you state things and don't assume that anyone has the answers to some of
the questions that you are asking because most of us have the same questions and only God knows the answers at the moment.

We all get frustrated at times, let's try and not take it out on each other.

  15. Exactly. There is a lot of sharing of rather knee jerk misunderstandings here (and elsewhere) and then relying upon them (by the anointed!!) to only further the misunderstanding and then judgement upon the commenter rather than remaining open to a greater understanding of the original intent of the commenter. IOW, more charity needed.

  17. This info may already have been offered here or another version. This one was reported today anyway. Have to wonder if any of these "exorcists in training" or their expert teachers with experience would ever report on what they detect, diabolical-wise, within the walls of the Vatican itself as they stroll within!!:cautious:

Exorcist: Once You Have Heard the Devil’s Voice ‘You Recognize It’

A Catholic priest who has been performing exorcisms for 10 years says that demand for exorcists is on the rise as more and more pastors become convinced that the devil is real and needs to be fought.

“Christ was the first exorcist,” says Father César Truqui, a Mexican priest based in Switzerland. “The power of casting out demons was one of the signs that Christianity was a true religion.”

While the majority of people who come to him for help are dealing with psychological or physical problems rather than diabolical activity, Truqui said in a recent interview, a small percentage undeniably face true demonic “vexation.”

The presence of the devil becomes apparent, the priest said, when a person does what is humanly impossible, such as performing feats of superhuman strength or suddenly speaking in Hebrew or Aramaic despite never having studied the languages.

Other times their voice changes and they growl or speak in tongues, he said, while some reveal knowledge of “secret things,” such as what a person who is not present is doing or wearing. People who are possessed can be overwhelmed by feelings of discomfort when they are in places of worship, he said.

In one particular case cited by the priest the devil spoke to him directly. The possessed person “said, ‘I am the prince of this world, I am Satan’, and the hairs on my arms went up. When you listen to a satanic growl, once you listen to the devil’s voice, you can recognise it,” he said.

Father Truqui worked for four years as assistant to the late Father Gabriele Amorth, one of the most famous exorcists of the last century, who reportedly performed some 100,000 exorcisms during his years of ministry.

Beginning next Monday, the priest will help teach a course in Rome on exorcism for priests and laypeople who want to learn more about demonic activity and how to combat it. The annual course offered by the Sacerdos Institute, titled “Exorcism and Prayer of Liberation,” is now in its 13th year and draws upwards of a hundred students each year.

The course is held at the Regina Apostolorum University in Rome and features speakers including Vatican officials, exorcists, psychologists, physicians and other experts.

The university is a pioneer in this subject, having been the first institution to offer such a program back in 2006. Its exorcism course draws students from diverse backgrounds, including priests, religious sisters, pastoral workers, teachers and doctors.

    .......
In an interview with Vatican Radio, Sicilian exorcist Father Benigno Palilla said that more and more Italians are engaging in occult activities, which often serve as a gateway to the demonic.

Some 25 percent of Italy’s adult population regularly visits astrologers, psychics, and tarot card readers, and it is precisely these sorts of activities, Father Palilla said, that “open the door to the devil and to possession.”

Citing experts in the field, Vatican Radio said that the diabolical phenomenon has been “rising sharply.”

In a new teaching letter released this week, Pope Francis said that the “malign power” of Satan is always in our midst and “poisons us with the venom of hatred, desolation, envy and vice.”

Satan is not “a myth, a representation, a symbol, a figure of speech or an idea,” Francis wrote in his letter called Gaudete et Exsultate (“Rejoice and Be Glad”), and falling into this error “would lead us to let down our guard, to grow careless and end up more vulnerable.”

“When we let down our guard, he takes advantage of it to destroy our lives, our families and our communities,” he said. “Like a roaring lion, he prowls around, looking for someone to devour,” he added, quoting from the New Testament first letter of Peter.

Acknowledging the existence of the devil is essential, the pontiff said, because the spiritual warfare Christians fight is not merely “a battle against the world and a worldly mentality” or a “struggle against our human weaknesses and proclivities.”

“It is also a constant struggle against the devil, the prince of evil,” he said.

A funny thing happened me in work last week which has me thinking. I was on the night shift and fell asleep on the floor . Later on a guy in the toher room said he heard me talking in my sleep. He heard me clearly say,

'Do not come any closer, you are not permitted to come closer to me than this!'.

He heard me say this loudly and clearly as he was quite some distance away. I have no recollection of this at all. As you may understand this has my thinking.

These are very difficult times , so I believe we have to cut each other a lot of slack on a wide range of opinions. Far more so on a Catholic forum than might be usual in more settled ordinary times....goodness knows I get confused myself at times, very, very confused.
