Would you rather survive the Chastisement to the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart, or be Martyred?

While I've often prayed to have Martyr's zeal, my views & hopes regarding the Chastisement and coming Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary have changed. I used to hope to be able to survive the Chastisement, me and my future family, to see the glorious Triumph & Reign of the Immaculate Heart of Mary; but as the years passed and I've grown to better understand myself and my flaws and the like, my views and hopes have changed.

When I look at what's predicting in the Chastisement, and what seems to be very likely coming and indeed, is already pretty much already happening in certain parts of the world; I'm now hoping and praying that I get Martyred before war comes or before I'm put in a situation where I could get drafted into a conflict. Anger has always been a big problem for me, and I really don't want put into situation where I'm forced to become a soldier and be involved in acts of violence and brutality. I do still hope and pray to enjoy whatever years of peace we have left and have my family and the like, and I really hope & pray my future children survive this chastisement; but with me and my anger issues, I really don't want to be placed and such a severe, near occasion of sin as war for myself.

What about all of you? What are your thoughts.

God won't save you from the cross but He does help you through it. Keep going forward no matter what happens. If you end up at a point where you are forced to kill or be killed, you will make up your mind only then. No point in worrying about it now.

I heard that in conflict, in times gone by it used to be that only 1/10 people in conflict would actually fire on another soul. Now with first person shooter video games that number went up to 3/10. Something like 90% of people dying in conflict comes from debris flying around from bombs and artillery. So if you end up drafted, do your best simply to survive. I am not saying be a coward, but do your job as best you can and count on God to get you through.

I’ll die when God wants me to.

  4. I have no worries about it because I know God will take care of me and my family. Strength will be given as needed. Today has enough worries without worrying about the future.

the book "Human-kind" talks about that, the shift happened in WW2. even today, the real cause wars are deadlier isn't better (worse?) per se, but the tech distancing the attacker from the target. an aerial bomber doesn't need to SEE the targets in the face, so he can repeat his attacks. drone strikes, too...This is why the selection criteria for snipers used to be psychological profile, not shooting skill.
(human-kind is a good book showing how violence isn't how humans are supposed to be like. murder is a foreign concept to the human nature)

  7. I don't think blaming video games is fair. You can't compare statistics from Christian countries in WWI to modern day ones and then somehow blame video games as being the main thing that's changed since then.

I agree. It has been a societal shift. Pope John Paul II called it “the culture of death.”
I personally think widespread abortion is a huge factor as well.

I think the myth of video games turning kids into violent killers comes from the (also a myth- never confirmed) rumour that the columbine shooters, used a modified Doom map to plot their attack.

I’m fine with being a martyr. (As long as it doesn’t hurt ;-)
