You are talking about appeasement but you don't feel that America is Germany in that analogy? The language the US uses towards NK, and has used for decades long before it was any threat to them, has that kind of militaristic and aggressive feel that was characteristic of Prussian and later German militarism. The US is the big country intimidating the little one here, not the other way around, threatening to turn them to ash in a heart beat etc etc. Especially since George W Bush listed them in his axis of evil the North Koreans have quite correctly concluded that the US wants to invade or do to them what it did to Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, is trying to do in Syria, and the absolute litany of other countries turned to rubble or internal ruin by the US in recent years. You are the agressors now, I am sorry its just true! Of course I think Americans are great people, but so are the Germans in fact, but you have to sit back and say your federal govt is now so corrupt that you just aren't the good guys any more!
We have a different President today. He understands the difference between good and evil. That makes a difference. He has awakened the sleeping giant of America. Our liberal leftist policies are over. Now it's about our own survival. Is it too late for the USA? I hope not. But we can't let communism win.
Talks cheap. If NK follows through with today's threat and launches missiles at Guam as it has threatened or over Japan or anyplace else for that matter it's likely going to be a done deal. There will be no more talk, armistice, meanie US rhetoric, NK chest pounding, or chance for peace. A lot of people will die. Both SK and China are going to have a big problem on their hands with 25 million refugees. Nobody wants to see this, I have been praying all day for Our Lord's peace and wisdom to win the day along with many others here I am sure.
I don't think God could bless North Korea while it kills anyone who wants to worship God. I wonder if all this might be part of God's plan to open their doors to Christ?. I know it is hard to believe but there was a time before Communism took hold there when there was a really strong Christian presense. I would guess they are mostly dead now a long time. Communism remains a truly great evil Lamentations 1 1 a]">[a]How deserted lies the city, once so full of people! How like a widow is she, who once was great among the nations! She who was queen among the provinces has now become a slave.
I see there is still an underground Church there, which is pretty incredible. Just imagine Catholics saying mass there. Wow!!
I felt that too, when the leader makes himself God, he is asking for trouble. Can you imagine living in a place like that? I can't imagine it . . .
I posted this on another thread but I feel I should post here Today on the radio I heard some advice on what to do in the event of nuclear attack Get some potassium iodide tablets I ordered ours today They block radiation in the body through the thyroid I think Take them in event of exposure to radiation Throw your clothing in a bag Do not look at the blast We live near a nuclear power plant and folks who are within 10 mile radius already have the potassium iodide
Also just heard to get in shower and use lots of shampoo and soap If possible The people on Guam have been issued these guidelines today I heard
I will just use the remedy that the 8 Jesuit priests in Hiroshima used. The Rosary. There lies ahead so many things that are coming that will kill. Plagues, storms, nuclear, bullets, etc.... I am convinced we need to prepare first and foremost via the rosary. Yes, have some contingencies: water, food, supplies etc.... If God wants us alive, nothing can kill us. If it is our time to go........well then, so be it.
I have to agree with you, BUT, I am doing a little here and there in the way preparing. Perhaps someone can benefit from the post. The Rosary is the remedy and the weapon. I agree. It doesn't feel right to let a day go by without praying it.
China is joining in this circus. https://www.rt.com/news/399310-china-prevent-us-strike-nkorea/ China will prevent US first strike against North Korean regime – govt daily Published time: 11 Aug, 2017 13:38 Edited time: 11 Aug, 2017 13:40 China will prevent the US and South Korea from carrying out strikes on North Korea and trying to overthrow the leadership there, but will remain neutral if Pyongyang launches missiles at American targets first, the state-run Global Times said. The warning, delivered through an editorial in the Chinese state-run newspaper on Thursday, comes as both the US and North Korea continue to exchange incendiary remarks, raising the risk of overreaction or miscalculation amid the crisis. Beijing should make it clear that “if North Korea launches missiles that threaten US soil first and the US retaliates, China will stay neutral,” the Global Times wrote. But if the US and its ally South Korea take on Pyongyang and try to “overthrow the North Korean regime and change the political pattern of the Korean Peninsula, China will prevent them from doing so,” the paper stressed. The widely-quoted newspaper, published by the Communist Party’s official People’s Daily, also noted that the latest developments are seen in Beijing with growing frustration and deep concern. “If war really breaks out, the US can hardly reap any strategic harvest and North Korea will face unprecedented risks,” the paper cautioned. “North Korea aims to propel the US to negotiate with it, while the US wants to put North Korea in check.” Beijing was unable “to persuade Washington or Pyongyang to back down at this time,” the Global Times said, adding it primarily pursues peace and stability in the region. All sides involved in the crisis should understand that “when their actions jeopardize China's interests, China will respond with a firm hand,” the government paper explained. China – North Korea’s long-standing economic partner and ideological ally – reiterated on Friday that all sides involved in the crisis must “speak and act with caution” as well as build up trust rather than “taking turns in shows of strength,” according to a Foreign Ministry statement quoted by Reuters. Earlier in the week, US President Donald Trump added more fuel to the North Korean crisis, saying that his previous threat to unleash “fire and fury which the world has never seen” was perhaps not “tough enough.” Speaking on Thursday at his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey, Trump said the North Koreans “better get their act together or they’re going to be in trouble like few nations ever have been in trouble in this world.” The open threat from Washington came after Pyongyang ridiculed Trump’s “fire and fury” remark as a “load of nonsense.” Pyongyang also announced that a detailed plan to launch missiles against the US Pacific airbase on Guam will be completed soon. In response, the US military signaled it could dispatch strategic B-1 bombers to target North Korea’s missile launch sites, underground facilities and other installations. Such a “reckless game” may result in dire consequences, the Global Times said. “Neither Washington nor Pyongyang really wants war, but a war could break out anyway as they do not have the experience of putting such an extreme game under control.” The stakes are extremely high as both sides seem ready for worst-case scenarios, according to respected Russian observers. Pavel Zolotarev, a retired Russian major general, told RT that decision-making in Washington goes “beyond rational logic, and … we can have consequences that are hard to foresee.” Equities fall on rising tension between US & North Korea https://on.rt.com/8k34 — RT (@RT_com) 7:53 AM - Aug 11, 2017 Equities fall on rising tension between US & North Korea https://t.co/pERCZ9wWhf — RT (@RT_com) August 11, 2017 “Every country’s military has to elaborate deployment strategies for any eventuality. It is politicians – not the military – who decide on whether or not to use such plans… So, if the North Korean military talks of such plans, it means it actually has them,” he said, commenting on Pyongyang’s threat to target Guam. “The North Korean military may inflict significant damage to US forces during a conventional conflict. Though their equipment is far behind the American assets, their combat readiness and military morale are much higher,” the retired general said.
Unfortunately, there are no winners . This is a bad situation. I am not sure how to even think about how this will turn out. There is a crazy man threatening the world with nukes. I want to blame someone but can only blame myself for not praying more. The world should be praying and the cry baby powers that be here are just focusing on crucifying Trump. My son, a sophomore in high school, has recently been saying that he understands why God would allow this to happen, to destroy ourselves. We have made a mess out of the world and out of ourselves.
This is so true. We look for political answers to what is a massive Spiritual Problem that people have forgotten or sidelined God. The very first finger pointing should be at ourselves. Even the very best of us should ask the question, have I prayed enough? Have I done enough penance? Have I made enough Sacrifices? Which if us being honest can say that we have? I know I have not. We as a Church have forgotten the power of prayer, fasting and Sacrifice to stop wars.
I see the President has put forth the military option for Venezuala. Maria Esperanza said, 'It will begin here'. So many, many, many signs.
I read this article yesterday. It has a lot of interesting information. I've always wondered how many miles away that a person could be from a nuclear weapon detonation and be considered (somewhat) safe. I think that this article mentions 45 miles from detonation is still considered fairly dangerous, and further still if one is downwind of the prevailing winds. Granted, with the size and magnitude of the weapons thesedays, I doubt anyone can truly be considered safe. It wouldn't take long for the air and the water of the world to be contaminated. May God bless us and help us all! http://www.naturalnews.com/2017-08-...dness-guide-for-nuclear-fallout-survival.html
