Can anyone from the USA confirm\refute that stuff about the yellowstone volcanoe possibly explode within 2-3 decades? I remember some infographics about it from years ago .and the usual "fact checkers" saying it was all bunk science. of course nothing happened yet, but is there real geological reason for alarm?
I’m not sure I would pin the timing to the next several decades, but yes there is volcanic activity in the area and it is expected to erupt “sometime” but the timeline can be across centuries and millennia or decades. If you look at a map the entire Yellowstone basin is a huge caldera so the original eruption must have been super super huge. Old Faithful geyser and hot springs are all related to the underground magma.
