Gotcha, I was confused by how a valid Pope could make a claim to the Papacy. I am guessing this has to do with the times when there were multiple popes.
It's all beyond our paygrade, but there are apparently many in the Church, who occupy the paygrade, uninterested in what appears to be a case that ought be answered. Pope Benedict might not have claimed to be a valid pope after his resignation, but if his resignation itself was invalid, the case made by Barnhardt, then he remained Pope whether or not he claimed to be one or not. Combined with the activities of the St. Gallen 'mafia', legitimate questions are raised about the whole affair.
The Church authorities have been following a course that mitigates against vocations to the priesthood for several decades, asking the laity to pray for them, making it possible to suspect that this sets the latter up for the blame. This policy is now stepping up a gear. It can't all be foolishness. There is a huge segment of the Church actively pursuing Her destruction. One twelfth of the Apostles was a Judas...what's the ratio currently?
Absolutely. The white casock and emeritus title seem to contradict the whole resignation along with the strange wording in his official abdication. Only God can sort this out.
This could move us further away from the Orthodox Church. In a way, it would go against the Second Vatican Council.
This makes sense, they would get rid of all of the alternative rites. Because when they make the move to get rid of the eucharist, priests could just practice alternative rites. By having only one rite, they then can make sweeping changes across the board.
Is 7:23 And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place where there were a thousand vines, at a thousand pieces of silver, shall become thorns and briers.
It's blatantly noticeable here. Has been for years. Everything appeared to be about "recruiting" permanent deacons, which is not bad in itself, but there's been more leave the priesthood in the last 10-15 yrs than have been ordained (1, this past May). Sad. It's occurred to me recently that the Bishops were called to protect their flocks, to feed their sheep, to support each other in this God given calling. Somewhere along the line this turned, for many, into protecting each other more so than their own flocks, under some misguided notion that the Church would be protected. The notion of "collegiality" just furthers this error. The Bishops alone do not make up The Church. Imho, that's why we're seeing some of the most unbelievably gross statements coming from Vatican "communications".
I just have to keep reminding myself we are occupied territory. The enemyhas taken the high ground. We have to go underground and be spiritual saboteurs through our prayers and sacrifices and our resistance. Viva Cristo Ray!
The Orthodox have already turned their backs on us for blessing people Pope Frankie charmingly called faggots. Twice The Coptics now want nothing to do with us either . I can't say I blame them. I think they believe we have switched sides to Satan and maybe we have
Most Catholics have had absolutely no say in almost all of this. Everything has been imposed upon us, whether we like it or not, since Vatican II. Maybe obedience was overestimated. How much infiltration by the Soviets actually happened? It seems like they succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.
