It might be that part of the problem lies in the means of communication..utube videos. I was reading a few books on making such productions and the one thing they all recommend as experts is that you make as many of them and as often as you possibly can. This works out fine if you are making videos about, say, hair styling. I am not quite sure how well this works for discussion of more serious content. If you feel you have to churn out many, many videos on indepth subjects I suspect you are bound to falter. Keeping up and increasing viewers stats is not everything. Michael Voris and Sensum Fidelium can manage this because they have an entire team; as can Matt over at Remnant Video. But for just the two of them making videos of over an hour length firing off each other all the time it seems to me a bit of a reach. But I love many of their videos ;some more than others. But when you are churning out so just so very, very much it is bound to falter a little. Still some of their stuff is quite superb, they seem to master a huge width in a very short time. They are both such scholars ; they must do nothing but read everyday. Amazing. But I often get the feeling that they are often not taking time to reflect and digest what they have learned. Not taking time to check out sources. I think fewer and deeper would be better. But don't get me wrong I am their biggest fan. I love the youthful feel of it too. I just feel they should reduce output to assist with consistency and depth. I am a little uncomfortable too sometimes with what I take to be a Rad Trad narrative, but since I am not really I suppose a Trad that is to be expected. But hey no one is perfect; not even me or my dogs.
I watched this video some time back and was horrified. To think that a school for those among us who are weak, vulnerable, and in need of special care was in fact a place in which they were preyed upon by sexual predators, men they were taught to believe that they could trust the most and by their parents no less simply makes my blood boil and my heart goes out to them and their parents. I pray that each and every one of these children and their parents are avenged by God. I can not imagine having a child who was victimized and to top it off the guilt that the parents go through.
I think you're right. Dr. Marshall realized he hit a wave and he's riding it for all it's worth. In order to do that he needs to keep producing content as often as possible. I think, as you said, if they produced shorter but more polished videos the same result could be achieved. Instead of having videos that are an hour to an hour and a half every few days they could make one for 15-20 minutes every day or two. Just break the longer podcasts up into segments. I do listen to them though and am glad for their contributions. I learn a lot. It is just the style I am a little turned off by.
Yes I notice younger people are highly, highly taken by internet, 'success'. Goodness knows why. I had a younger relative who looked at my face book page one time and his eyeballs nearly popped out when he saw how many, 'friends', I had. I don't know why these things are important to younger people but they certainly seem to be. It such an unreal world. 'Friends' indeed. I wonder how friendly they would be if I asked them for a loan of money.
