I agree...especially because we are not equipped with the ability to root out all of the truth or deception that seem to accompany these “apparitions”. Rely on the Holy Spirit via the church and not on our own understanding. This is my feelings at least....
Thank you! I was blessed to attend mass on the ascension this week....and the wonderful priest gave me confession too. A miracle that Our Lord carved out for me. Hopefully soon all our churches will again celebrate mass and all the sacraments. A greater appreciation will be realized ...hopefully.
I think the Devil knows that the elect of GOD would pray the rosary anyway, so he uses these false apparitions to mislead them with heresies like ecumenism, disobedience, while apparently telling people to pray the Rosary.
It did not work out to go see Vassula speak but it did when Fr Joseph Iannuzzi came to town. Prayers for them both.
Being the father of lies he mixes lots of truth in with one pernicious lie and then the lie takes root. It's a back door into the soul. We must be SO prudent.

I never believed in Vassula. There were several warning signs. But I am glad it is all out in the open. I would guess that well over 90% of such, 'Visionaries' (I include priests in this) are false. St John of the Cross warned of this. Many of them are very,very attractive but still false. It is like a minefield. The best thing to do is to choose two or three that we feel really, really confident about (and that have at least some measure of Church approval) and stick to them. Spiritual supermarket shopping amongst them is a very bad idea. There are thousands and thousands of them now with the internet. Discernment is not always easy. There are true ones and we must not despise Prophecy. But it has gotten so bad these days, as with everything else, that we need to be really, really, really careful with them.. Even when we do believe it is still better to keep a certain reserve. A certain cautiousness. Test with Scripture. Test with the Teachings of the Church. Ask your self the hard question if these things are falling from a good tree or a bad tree and so on.
I just want you to know, Booklady, I still have my Rosary. By the way, when I was ordained to the Diaconate almost 5 years ago, Jose Vergara, a native of Columbia, but now a holy, fellow parishioner, gifted me with an indestructible Rosary made in his homeland. I carry it with me everywhere and it's under my pillow at night. It has large 'Our Father" beads so even in the dark and half asleep I won't lose count! Years ago a good and very holy friend lent me Vassula’s books. I found them to be low on content but high in referencing God’s special love for her and I began to feel envious. Since envy of another’s spiritual good is sinful I decided this wasn’t helping me at all. Later I read somewhere else that she wrote that Jesus gave her the little piece of flesh removed at his circumcision as a spiritual wedding ring. Yuk. The books lent to me were said to have been written under divine guidance and were a facsimile of her handwriting. In fact it was alleged that her natural writing looked quite different. Struck me as similar to automatic writing which is not of the aHoly Spirit. The friend who lent me the books was a wonderful man and an exemplary Catholic but he was tender hearted and loved reading about mystics.
