    TRUMP

And this is who Donald Trump thinks of first for a Supreme Court Justice nominee?
    http://spectator.org/articles/65018/who-would-donald-trump-appoint-supreme-court

Here’s an example. Remember Trump’s discussion about Supreme Court Justices back in August with Bloomberg Politics? Mark Halperin asked Trump, “Is there someone out there today who isn’t on the [Supreme Court], but say, this is the kind of person I would consider for the court? How about your sister? Think she’d be a good Supreme Court Justice?”

Trump responded, “Well, I don’t want to mention names, I think it’s inappropriate to mention names, certainly at this stage so early when we have a long way to go. Oh, my sister’s great. I have a sister who’s on the Court of Appeals and she's fantastic. I think she would be phenomenal. I think she would be one of the best. But frankly, uh, I think she — we’ll have to rule that out now, at least temporarily. But I do have a sister who’s very smart and a very good person.

So let’s go off of what we know — he loves his sister and thinks she would be a “phenomenal” Supreme Court Justice. Let’s take a look at Judge Maryanne Trump Barry of the Third Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.

She has been involved in hundreds of cases, but one of the first cases in her tenure sticks out the most: Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey v. Farmer, which was argued in late 1999 and filed in July 2000.The Third Circuit struck down the New Jersey Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 1997, and Barry wrote in her majority opinion that the law “places an undue burden on a woman's constitutional right to obtain an abortion.”

Barry didn’t stop there. She continued by giving a full-throated defense for legalizing infanticide:

“The Legislature's argument that Roe and Casey are inapplicable to ‘partial-birth” abortion procedures because such procedures are infanticide rather than abortion is based on semantic machinations, irrational line-drawing, and an obvious attempt to inflame public opinion instead of logic or medical evidence,” Barry wrote.

“…In what can only be described as a desperate attempt to circumvent over twenty-five years of abortion jurisprudence, the Legislature would draw a line based upon the location in the woman’s body where the fetus expires,” Barry continued. “Establishing the cervix as the demarcation line between abortion and infanticide is nonsensical on its face as well as inaccurate because that line may be crossed in any number of abortion procedures which the Legislature concedes are constitutionally protected.… The Legislature’s attempt to label the Act a birth, instead of an abortion, regulation is nothing more than an effort to cloud the issues and avoid clear precedent.”

Wow — all that coming from a “Republican” judge! Barry’s argument was essentially a legal defense of a birth not being a birth unless the person giving birth desires it to be a birth. According to Judge Barry, there should be no other considerations — and none whatsoever for the living, breathing child itself.

And this is who Donald Trump thinks of first for a Supreme Court Justice nominee?

I have a idea that the Mother of God doesn't much care about Trump or Hilary Clinton or whoever.

Does anyone think there's a political solution to the state of our nation and world? Its all a moot point.

If I wanted to hear political rhetoric and arguing about this candidate or that I'd turn on Fox News or MSNBC.

Maybe we can return the focus of the Mother of God forum back to what will make a difference to our nation and world?

New warning to SOUTH CAROLINA VOTERS on Trump!

Leading Pro-Life Women to Pro-Life Voters: Don’t Vote for Donald Trump, Can’t Trust Him on Abortion

    http://www.lifenews.com/2016/02/12/...-for-donald-trump-cant-trust-him-on-abortion/

    Dear South Carolina voters,

As pro-life women leaders from Iowa and across the nation, we urge Republican caucus-goers and voters to support anyone but Donald Trump. On the issue of defending unborn children and protecting women from the violence of abortion, Mr. Trump cannot be trusted and there is, thankfully, an abundance of alternative candidates with proven records of pro-life leadership whom pro-life voters can support. We have come to this conclusion after having listened patiently to numerous debates and news reports, but most importantly to Donald Trump’s own words.

The next president will be responsible for as many as four nominations to the Supreme Court. Mr. Trump has given us only one indication about the type of judges he would appoint, and it does not bode well for those who would like to see the court overturn Roe v. Wade. Mr. Trump has said his sister, Judge Maryanne Trump Barry, who struck down the Partial Birth Abortion Ban in New Jersey, would be a “phenomenal” choice for the court. Earlier this month, Mr. Trump also said he thought pro-choice Senator Scott Brown would make a “very good” Vice President. If one truly believes, as we do, that abortion is the taking of an innocent human life and is committed to the pro-life priorities of ending abortion after five months, and defunding the nation’s largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood, it would be a disaster to have a vice president who disagrees.

Moreover, as women, we are disgusted by Mr. Trump’s treatment of individuals, women, in particular. He has impugned the dignity of women, most notably Megyn Kelly, he mocked and bullied Carly Fiorina, and has through the years made disparaging public comments to and about many women. Further, Mr. Trump has profited from the exploitation of women in his Atlantic City casino hotel which boasted of the first strip club casino in the country.

America will only be a great nation when we have leaders of strong character who will defend both unborn children and the dignity of women. We cannot trust Donald Trump to do either. Therefore we urge our fellow citizens to support an alternative candidate.

There may not be a political solution to these problems, but not informing the voters about the position of candidates who will decide the fate of the lives of unborn babies is neglecting our duty as faithful Catholics.

I'm sure the Mother of God would want her children to defend with everything in them, the lives of these unborn babies who are being brutally killed in the womb.

It is this election that will determine which of these candidates who will nominate a Supreme Court justice that could decide their fate.

As people of faith, we are obligated to educate ourselves and others about these issues of life.

It was ignorant Catholics who helped elect Obama, any effort to prevent this disastrous outcome in 2016 should be made....even on this forum...maybe especially on this forum

As most of us know already, you do not get the truth from the secular liberal media, that is why it us necessary to utilize these forms to educate voters on issues relating to candidates , issues and matters that will effect the outcome of these races and ultimately, the lives of the unborn ...and possibly our own someday.

If you feel I'm wrong for this, I'm sorry. I'll accept the criticism if that's what it takes to potentially change a vote and protect and defend life...given to all of us by God.

Beth, are you familiar with the phrase "preaching to the choir"? This place is the choir. We get it.

If you feel there is a political solution and that this matters, then God is leading you to do that. But do it in a place where your efforts may have results, such as secular places or forums. Go to Fox News forums and preach there, there are many conservatives who may be confused about Trump and your efforts may bear fruit there. God bless :)

    Unfortunately Fatima,
I am not preaching to the choir...as evidenced by the Trump supporters who are also posting their support of their opposing candidates on a daily basis as well.

I did not think that topics, although political in nature, were off limits....especially in light of the extreme moral decay of this nation. If we get another godless president, there may be no going back to the good nation that we once were. If these discussions are not comfortable to view, just imagine a country where religious sites such as this are banned...and made illegal. Where sites like this will be forever silenced. That is the kind of government that I am trying to warn about....and no, not everyone reading these post are in the choir so to speak.

Catholics are viewed as an extremely important voting demographic. This is why I'm posting here. Maybe if the truth about Obama was made more clear to the Catholics, he might not have been elected. It was Catholics who help him win the highest office of the land....and we are paying a very heavy price for that. He may now appoint a radical Supreme Court justice that will be a scourge to people of all faiths and to the sanctity of all human life!
These political discussions are needed to awaken the conscience of those Catholics who sometimes put their heads in the sand and either don't vote, or vote for the wrong candidate. Whether it be apathy or willful ignorance, the outcome for a uninformed populous will be tyranny.

Churches are not permitted to preach on politics...but we are the church...the people. It's our duty.

Trust me, if these political post are an annoyance, it will pale in comparison to the political distress that a godless, secular country will yield, if through ignorance Catholics again are lead to the slaughter.

Our nations soul is at risk here. St. Paul said, "Fight the good fight"...he didn't say, "unless it makes folks uncomfortable".

I do not think that all the ills of the world are fixed at the altar of politics...not at all! We must be on our knees daily, begging Gods mercy.
But I also believe that faith without works is dead.
I'm just trying to be faithful...given what is at stake, is that to much to ask?

If Padrig or other administrators ask me to desist, I willing will oblige.
I would then ask too, that other political post of like nature, be asked as well. This is not my forum, it is his and I will honor and respect his wishes.

God bless you as well...no hard feeling. I understand your point of view and it's merit. I just wanted to clarify mine as well.

Beth, thanks for the reply. Are you posting this information on secular sites such as Fox News comment sections and "catholic" in name only sites as well? I hope so, otherwise your huge efforts are not going to bear much fruit in this little corner of the world as the vast majority of us here get it and are "the choir".

    Yes I am fatima.daily...

I need to also add that you are right in that I may have been repeadly posting some of the same post, and you would be correct to point out that it was probably too much. I agree.

The reason I did it was because I was being barraged by two trump supporters who didn't just disagree with me, they we're continuously harassing me, calling me a liar, a political hack...etc.
it's not been a friendly few weeks. I have no issue with respectful discourse, that is the nature of these forums. I guess they caused me to over react and repost evidence to counter their incessant attacks on my position.
I should have not responded with quite so much vigor and I can understand how onlookers may see it. That is the reason for multiple, repeated post.

Last night I had to ask Padrig to close a thread of mine because I was being harassed for hours...name calling and questioning of my faith. I begged him to stop and he laughingly refused...therefore, it was necessary to shut my thread down.

This is not what I expect to see from people of faith...and it caused me to over react out of sheer frustration. Not an excuse, just an explaniation..that's all.

So, you are right about the excesses here, and I apologize to you and the other good people of this forum. I regret it.

Thank you for pointing out what needed to be addressed.

    God bless.

Understandable. And please know it's doesn't cause me distress to read what you are posting, I just see it as a bit of a wasted effort here and you seemed to be posting a lot :) Concentrate your fire on the lukewarm "catholics" or secular types who see Trump as some kind of answer. And you can find them out there all over the internet, unfortunately.

The general idea to me is that quite clearly people are fed up with politicians and our government, that's why they see Trump as answer because he's not a politician and is talking about the things that bother most of us. Unfortunately I don't see any answer out there in the political realm, I see the answer as God and I'm convinced He has a plan to fix it, and the plan is not a politician or a government, quite the opposite actually :)

Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry :)

Let go of the govt (they let go of us a long time ago). Put your efforts into following God's will and read some of the many threads here about living in the Divine Will. You will begin to feel peace.

Last year I was constantly worried about what will come. I'm more convinced now then ever that it's "soon" and now I mean earthly as opposed to heavenly "soon" and that's the peace that only comes from not giving up, but giving over my will to His. He's in charge, we know that, so let Him be just that . . . in charge of your every step. And you will find peace and be protected. God bless and don't fret about Trump. Neither he nor Hillary will be president. Not sure how I know that, just do . . . :)
