Given the current explosive development with Donald Trump most likely boycotting the Fox News Iowa debate, EVERYONE should remember the entire back story as we explained, researched and outlined it in September ’15. ~ Also This UPDATE for recent context.
Anyone who is viewing the battle between Donald Trump and Fox News as a representative battle of thin-skinned ego is entirely missing the point.

 

Anyone watch O Reilly basically begging Trump to debate tonight, I never saw OReilly this way.... Megan Kelleys days are numbered, when the numbers plummet tonight heads will roll... Trumps his own man independent of paying the media, but they follow for free

FOX is gonna loose 10's of millions tonight...CNN is covering Trump Huckabee and Santorum at the sametime for Wounded Warriors...im just sayin!

 

yes, Megyn Kelly will be history....not that she did anything that wrong....I am not a Trump fan.. I like Rubio, next Cruz. Trump is not my favorite at all...but I believe Fox will have to revamp after the loss in tonight's debates....they will lose tons of money over this. And they really are no longer a truly conservative outlet....they have been slipping for a while...we need a better conservative outlet in the US

 

I didn't see the O'Reilly programme because I don't get Fox. I watched Charlie Rose on Bloomberg. He interviewed Hughie Hewitt first. Hewitt said that Cruz will win Ohio and Trump New Hampshire but it's anybody's guess after that. He says that both are very clever, but I get the impression that he prefers Cruz to Trump. Later, Charlie Rose had a panel with two people, one a Bloomberg political correspondent and the other an author who wrote a book about Fox. The author gave the impression that Roger Ailes could be on his way out of Fox, that he had been on leave for health reasons, and that Murdoch could be warming to Trump now that he is gaining in popularity.

On another thread, I asked whether Bloomberg or Trump was closer to Soros. Turns out that Soros and Murdoch are less than friends and Soros wouldn't be sorry to see the end of Murdoch's empire. Politics is a dirty business.

Given a choice between Trump and Cruz, I would choose Cruz. Trump has already said that his sister would be a good choice for the Supreme Court, and she has a bad record on abortion. Did she oppose some law banning partial birth abortion?

 

Never heard this about Trumps sister to be honest... Charlie Rose is a Total lib who appears it seams on CBS, CNN and MSNBC...I don't get it... tey are seamless I guess!
Hewitt this morning on MSNBC Morning Joe if I remember right maybe CNN said Trump is a genious for Not debating tonight...FOX he was saying screwd over Trump

Yes, I know that Charlie Rose is very liberal. So are CNN, yet right from the start of the campaign they have given wall to wall coverage of Trump. With such weak candidates of their own, maybe they would see Trump as the lesser evil. Hughie Hewitt wasn't supporting any candidate. He was more or less saying that Trump out-foxed Fox. Trump made some scathing remark about him early in the campaign.

Hewitt was saying that the next President could get to appoint about four judges to the Supreme Court. One or two Republican appointees have proved themselves to be as bad as the Democrat appointees. I find it very funny they cover Trumps every move. Hes a very successful man, and his kids do well also... but from Trumps day one they predicted his demise...on and on they went..never get 10%... never get 20%.... now hes at 40% plus/minus the experts have NO clue how to handle Trump.... I love it personally. im teird of the BS class....we vote pro life and they cow tow over and over again. Last summer I listened to a talk on the pro life movement. The Man made a jaw dropping statement! He said, Republicans have total control and Democrats have total control.... Both Parties since roe v wade could have ended Abortion if they wanted to thru there majority seats and the Presidential office, but thhhey don't!

Every election, repubs ban federal funds on overseas abortions....Dems get elected, they give funds to abortions over seas.... endless game... little victories for both sides, but the slaghter of the unborn rages on

Why would a majior international news network ask a non candidate to enter the race.... FOX is now on my chit list, no different than NBC OR CNN...

I think Pat Buchanan is spot on here. I only see further polarization in Republican Party and and even widening chasm within entire country. I can't imagine the Union staying United too much longer.

I don't like Trump because of his cheating on wives and using mistresses etc...typical rich man thing....very King Henry VIII as in I can do anything with women because I AM THE KING....I don't trust him. Give me Rubio or Cruz....preferably Rubio....but I'll take Cruz over Trump....but Trump has the country in a spell with his "We're not gonna take it" stance...He speaks to the 60's children who still have that in them...they have watched this country go south in 50 years and want it back and think he is the instrument....but mind what MS7 just said....I am very suspicious.

 

He is very intelligent. He couldn't have gotten so far in business if he wasn't. I don't trust him. I am starting to wonder if the liberals somehow got him to run as a Republican so that either way, they win.

I think it sad to see a great many people so disaffected by their public representatives that they are turning on one side to a man whose credentials boil down to being rich, having no sense of shame and no curb on his tongue, while on the other side they turn to a man whose credentials boil down to pandering to people's sense of entitlement minus a sense of responsibility. Both of them are pitching their message to the lowest common denominator by playing to people's grievances yet neither of them would get a look in if what had gone before them hadn't lost sight of the people they claimed to represent.

We see the same disillusionment across Europe. European electoral systems allow for smaller, fringe parties to get a seat at the table. On the surface, that looks like a fairer system but it isn't producing any better results. Irrespective of what system is best, we're all on the way down with no sign of a lifeline.

 

Yes, MS7, he's slick and only recently pro-life. He is appealing to the "Where is the America I knew?" crowd. Perhaps pride is something all politicians struggle with- Donald just happens to wear his arrogance on his sleeve. I would have preferred a Carson; I definitely don't want a Hillary. In the end, the ineptitude of even a Republican Congress encourages the Executive and Judicial branches to run wild. As our Founding Father, John Adams said:
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” ( October 11, 1798.)
