...the last thing I come to this site for is politics. My primary interest is Garabandal. Having said (typed) that, and as one who usually prefers to catch up on news here, and not post, I just want to throw in my cent and a half.
...I do not believe that Ted Cruz has a prayer in the general election, against either Hillary or Sanders. I'm not saying (typing) I agree with that, but I wouldn't have thought Bill Clinton or Obama would have ever been elected, in a sane world, either. Cruz will never get a majority of votes. Rubio or Kasich, yeah...they could win. For Trump haters, all I can add is this; When I worked at a retail store, it was often chaos in the huge backroom. There was one guy who had a filthy mouth and questionable morals, but he knew how to get disasters in order. The managers would call on him to go back and straighten out the physical and technical chaos, when needed, and he would deliver. I view Trump the same way. The man "is" a wildly successful CEO and manager. He's actually run things and employed people, successfully. He's changed his views, but why would he do that to trick people, rather than just run as a democrat?
...I will support whoever the GOP nominee is, over two far left individuals.

The conventional though a few years back and until recently with Hillary imploding, was that she "had" the nomination and the dems owed her it. That is why no other viable conventional democratic candidates even bothered to get in this race. It was to be handed to Hillary. No one could have predicted how badly she would do, otherwise trump would have run as a dem...at least that's my opinion.

Just last year, his liberal support of radical New York mayor candidate Deblasio was telling of his leftist views...if it wasn't that, then it's evidence of his cronie politics which suggest that he is the man he tells everyone he is against.

Oh, ill agree that he gets stuff done...that's my fear...it won't be stuff that conservatives will be happy about. No one gets to his level without a successful, take no prisoners approach. He will get what he wants done, and given his flip flops on almost every issue...how in the heck could anyone trust this narassist to do anything other that what he decides to do....regardless of what he said a minute ago.

He will play both sides of anyone or any issue to achieve his purpose. That tells me that he has absolutely no loyality to his positions today , or tomorrow. He is indeed, the "Devil you don't know", but a devil just the same...IMHO.

Julia Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

I am so glad to see you have a buddy Beth B. I mean in MarysChild as far as Trump is concerned, :)

Not being in USA myself, all those politicians out there are on another planet from here. And Americans get all worked up about it. It is amazing to read how passionate people get. They are all the same to me. With all the promises, they just form a club after the election and forget all about the voters. At least that is how it seems here in the UK.

Basically - but Rubio or Kasich over Cruz because of electability, if nothing else.

For the most part Julia, they do join the club...the exception has been ted Cruz...that is why the party elites hate him...he is the real exception.

I'll support any candidate other than trump...but I still think Cruz is the most faithful to the conservation cause. He put his neck out there against the party elites to be faithful to what he promised the voters...and isn't that what people want? A man who keeps his promises and won't play ball. A man who does what he says he will do...

I too follow Garabandal....I pray that the warning comes soon...for the sake of everyone's soul. Jesus, I trust in you.

I do like him....I just think that the GOP would have even odds at best to win with Cruz, while Rubio would be almost certain to win.

I'm headed to my Legion of Mary meeting now. I'll offer my rosary for all of us here. Let not our disagreements politically divide us spiritually.

Because we here at the MOG forum know, at the end of the day....

Cruz doesn't stand a chance in the general election against the eventual Democrat nominee. Sure, Cruz might be the most popular amongst the Glenn Beck and Fox and Friends crowd, but when it comes down to reality and to the general election where it counts, Cruz will be decimated. Same could be said for Rubio, Kasich, Bush and Carson. Trump is the only one that stands a chance in the general election. He's also a mortal threat to the special interests on BOTH the Left and the Right, which is why the Mainstream Media is being so nice to Trump's competition in hopes that they will be the the eventual nominee. What's really sad is to see well-known pro-life groups and other conservative voices disavow Trump and basically accuse him of being a phony this early on in the election process. Not only are they mistaken about the veracity of Trump's conversion, but they don't seem to realize that they are destroying their best chance to defeat the Democrat machine. Or maybe they do realize and have been compromised by Cruz and Rubio campaign money. Who knows? Just where I live here in Pennsylvania, I have never seen so many people that would normally vote Democrat or not vote at all vow that Trump is the only one that they will be supporting in the general election. Certain conservative and pro-life voices have seriously misjudged and miscalucated Trump and by doing so they are putting this election in jeopardy. And to make matters worse, I am just reading a headline that says that Pope Francis has stated that Donald Trump is not a Christian for Trump's comments about building a wall and enforcing immigration law. What ever happened to "Who am I to judge?" Why hasn't the Pope also chastised the Catholic Rubio, who has also supported the Wall? Something fishy is going on with the Trump-bashing and it only makes me more supportive of him.

Trump's response to Pope Francis's assertion that Trump is not a Christian (starts at the 1:12:58 mark):

The Pope was most unwise to involve himself in politics. Certainly, Trump is popular with a very large sector of the Republican votership. This is no guarantee he represents the one most likely to win the presidency.

It seems critically, even historically, important for the US and beyond that a third successive Democratic term be prevented. May God help you all make the correct choice.

I was appalled when I heard that the Pope said Trump is not a Christian because although I'm no fan of Trump I thought that the Pope had overstepped the mark. I also wasn't happy about his comments on contraception. One of my family, who watches Fox News and is a far better Catholic than I will ever be, was stunned and started quoting some prophesy or other about a "Black Pope". Then I read the full text of the Pope's press conference. Although I'm still not best pleased with quite a lot of what the Pope said and think it inadvisable for him to hold these press conferences at the end of long trips, the full context isn't quite as bad as what has been reported. These press conferences are becoming an embarrassment.

Here's the full text of the question and answer session http://www.ncregister.com/daily-new...ncis-in-flight-interview-from-mexico-to-rome/ You can judge for yourself whether the Pope actually questioned Trump's Christianity. Then who are we to judge. What worries me most is the piece where the Pope said he only glances at one Italian newspaper and gets the rest of the news from his Secretary of State (that was in the context of the Italian Civil Union row). Rather than giving the reporter what he wanted regarding Trump, i.e. a political headline, Pope Francis should have said that he would wait until he was fully aware of the facts before responding to what Trump had said about him.

We need to double our prayers for the Holy Father.

Incidentally does anyone know what the "Black Pope" prophesy is all about?

I hope for all those who are not crazy about Trump, that if he does get the nomination and runs as the Republican candidate that everyone will hold their nose and go out and vote. He is worlds better than Hillary. A vote not cast for the Republican is a vote for Hillary that goes unchallenged. Trump is not my favorite candidate but it looks like he may be the nominee. Most of the country is not in the little conservative niche we are. Sadly, someone like Cruz would never win in a general election.

Trump's written response to the Pope's comments, for those who don't want to watch the video above:

"If and when the Vatican is attacked by ISIS, which as everyone knows is ISIS’s ultimate trophy, I can promise you that the Pope would have only wished and prayed that Donald Trump would have been President because this would not have happened. ISIS would have been eradicated unlike what is happening now with our all talk, no action politicians.

The Mexican government and its leadership has made many disparaging remarks about me to the Pope, because they want to continue to rip off the United States, both on trade and at the border, and they understand I am totally wise to them. The Pope only heard one side of the story - he didn’t see the crime, the drug trafficking and the negative economic impact the current policies have on the United States. He doesn’t see how Mexican leadership is outsmarting President Obama and our leadership in every aspect of negotiation.

For a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful. I am proud to be a Christian and as President I will not allow Christianity to be consistently attacked and weakened, unlike what is happening now, with our current President. No leader, especially a religious leader, should have the right to question another man’s religion or faith. They are using the Pope as a pawn and they should be ashamed of themselves for doing so, especially when so many lives are involved and when illegal immigration is so rampant."

If you are seriously comparing Trump to Mussolini, then you can't be taken seriously. Your comparison is an affront to everyone who was murdered by Mussolini and to everyone who takes history seriously. What a disgraceful attack, Beth!
