Can someone please tell me if Vassula Ryden has been condemned or not? It got briefly talked about a couple of weeks ago, and I was left with the understanding it is condemned. But someone told me today that was incorrect information that went around. Does anyone know?
When she was brought up several weeks ago, I looked her up and read some of her messages and also the Church's stance on her. She was condemned and from the few messages I read of her's, I was not interested in reading anymore. I would much rather read St Teresa of Avila or any good Catholic writing than that garbage. Sorry, just my opinion but can see why was condemned.

Thanks Jose and Carmel333. That information now confirms it for me. I go to a prayer group and the guy who leads it puts things in it that Vassula says Jesus says to her. I am not comfortable with this. Yesterday, I told this guy Vassula is condemned. But he said, "no they was confusion on this, but she isn't." He also told me, if it wasn't for Vassula, he wouldn't have changed from protestant to Catholic. Strange how a seer can have more effect than Christ Himself. The mind boggles. I actually wonder what effect this will have on him? Can a person be satisfied in following a lie? There was a conversation happening on another thread some weeks ago where someone thought there was nothing wrong with telling the grieving that their loved one is in Heaven. I prefer to say "my prayers are with ...." We can tell our children that Father Christmas exists (Or Santa, as some people call him). But when we are a grown up, we should seek only the truth. Sometimes the truth hurts. But a lie can hurt more.
I personally believe that right now there are a handful of authentic apparitions and many false ones. Our Mother is calling us from many different places to reach as many of her children as possible and to wake us up from our spiritual slumber and turn back to God. As Padraig said, as some point in the future I believe a sign will be left at all the authentic apparition sites of this time. If messages from a apparition are focused on political events, new world order, catastrophies, etc, I usually tune those out or put them on a back burner. Most of those provide enough information to expose themselves as false. For instance last summer Maria of divine mercy predicted 3 world leaders would be assassinated over the summer. That did not happen, so I believe that makes her false. Medjugorje is the apparition which woke me from my spiritual slumber. I was re-introduced to Jesus by Our Lady of Medj. I have learned so much from my pilgrimage there, the messages, and I am trying to respond to the call to be an apostle as Our Lady of Medj has asked us to do. The 10 secrets provide the sense of urgency I need to convert and pray, pray, pray. So of course I believe in Medj and would recommend it to anyone looking to find Jesus or just learn more about living a good, catholic life. I am agnostic about Garabandal, but I see the fruits are good there. I believe it very well could be another of the authentic apparitions of this time. I believe Garabandal and Medj can co-exist together. They are actually in same boat in terms of church approval (both will be true/false based on their secrets/prophecy) and the messages do not conflict with each other or the church. I actually believe these 2 apparition sites compliment each other well. I do love St. Faustina as well, and divine mercy chaplet. I read Mark Mallett and feel he is authentic and well as Maria Esperanza. Of course I also love to hear of the members of this forum share their visions, dreams, etc. I also read a lot of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerick's writings. Her books are fascinating!! I feel much closer to Jesus and Mary after reading them!! I'd recommend them to everyone.

There are 10 secrets for the world. Mirjana has those secrets and they will be announced 3 days prior to them happening. Each seer will receive 10 secrets. Some of their secrets are personal ones for their lives. They do not know each others secrets, with the exception of secret #3. Secret # 3 is the sign that will be left in Medj that will authenticate Medj as a true apparition. I believe I read in a Medj book about a sign being left at all the authentic sites. When I went to Medjugorje last year. When I climbed Mount Krizevak, (I think that is the hill in which the cross is). I remember thinking 2 things. 1. The way of the cross is not easy. 2. Is this where The Fatima prophecies will be fulfilled? I couldn't help thinking it is. Is there another place in the world in which there is a cross on top of a hill, in the way it was discribed at Fatima?
I am scanning through, is it about Vassula Ryden? She was condemned, another thing, she is greek orthodox and insists on receiving Holy Communion in our Churches. So, she places herself above the magersterium of the Church, and obviously has no idea of why we actually receive Holy Communion and what it is all about. There is no humility there either. Huge warning bells...
What was the Fatima prophecy regarding it's fulfillment? Jane, you know these people risked all sorts proclaiming that Our Blessed Mother was appearing? It is credible that these visionaries needed homes that were well protected and not easy to break into, and to ensure that they had their privacy, especially in today's age with media being the way that it is. Now, when I say that today their homes needed protecting, I am not talking about communism but people that would flock around them so that they wouldn't be able to go about their daily business or give their children the chance to grow up normally. You know, when Jesus healed the leper, he had to go and sleep on the outskirts of the Town as it became impossible for Him to remain at home, we can all imagine why.. I am very interested in hearing what is causing you to doubt so much, what about the messages, is there anything that you don't like about them? Were you expecting something to happen in Medjugorje that just didn't happen?
I was just wanting to know, the prophecy of the Pope being killed. It is meant to be when he is climbing a hill, and at the top of the hill is a cross. I felt as if this could happen in Medj. I don't know if there is another place in the world that fits this description. Does anyone know?
ahhh, I see, that could be anywhere Jane, new crosses could even be erected by then. I am having trouble recalling all the prophecies there as so many, which just shows you what false prophets do. They cause confusion.
I had tried googling trying to find others. But I could only find this descrption in Medjugorje, You're so right. With all the prophecies around, it is confusing and they become crossed. I got asked if I still read MDM? My answer was a definate NO. It's hard enough following the truth never mind something which leads you up the garden path.
You know, we shouldn't get too hung up on the details, a lot will make more sense as they are happening. For instance, the cross at the top of the hill, could actually be a permanent sign somewhere, and the pope could be rushing there to pray before it (you know the way Jesus prayed in his hour of agony) when he is shot.
