For what it's worth... one of my daily prayers is one I've adapted from my 'Pioneer total abstinence' prayers and it goes like this:

For thy greater glory and consolation,
Oh Eucharistic heart of Jesus,
for thy sake to give good example and to practice self control,
to make reparation to Thee for the sins of child abuse and for the conversion of all child abusers,
I will abstain today, with your divine assistance, from all abuse and ill-treatment of children. Amen.

As a parent I know that every day I do things that do not give full respect to my children, minors things that diminish them, and that don't recognize the miracle that each of them are.

Am I the only one guilty of this?

Praying this prayer daily has helped to reduce the abuse i inflict on my own children, it makes me kinder to other peoples children, and please God, it will lead to the conversion of individuals that inflict much greater abuse.

Bartimaeus, thank you for that beautiful prayer, but please pray for the abused too. That is to help them to forgive. It is a life time sentence, and not all manage to forgive, though God is very understanding of that. Nothing rips away at the core of the soul like child sexual abuse does. It destroys the person.

I have been cautious of lists. I remember a paper circling that stated My little pony dolls were evil etc and have spells on them. Yet, no one had regard for how they treat another, to me this was the evil that was to be challenged.

Can someone else also clear something up for me please? I heard years ago that the manufacturers proctor and gamble where supposed to be putting some of their prophets into satanism and that they were open about it because people wouldn't care and wouldn't buy their products.

I haven't wanted to boycott them as i didn't know 100% if this was true or not? And being that all these funny papers were flying around at the time with numerous accusations of devil worship etc.. I didn't know what to think. It would also be evil to shut an innocent company down due to poor sales as a result of slander.

Does anyone know 100% if this is true about proctor and gamble. Did they hear it themselves?

Aah, I found the answer. It was just slander. Thank God, I didn't listen. We have to be so careful, that is why I double check everything.

 

OK, it's very late here and I needed a giggle. I didn't realize Proctor and Gamble had prophets or that they could put them into satanism.

Or is that a spelling difference between english and american english? ie profits?
