And I'm sorry if I come across as nitpicking. I'm just extremely wary of fearmongering being used as a means of manipulating the masses.

Maybe we need to spend more time worrying about people being persecuted now and less time worrying about what may or may not happen to us in the future. The Catholic and Orthodox Bishops in Jerusalem have made a joint statement about the Christians in Gaza. Israel has threatened opening "the gates of Hell" on those Christians if they don't move. The Christians, including the sisters of the Missionaries of Mercy, the priest who was injured when the Israelis shelled the parish centre, and the people in the care of the religious sisters, won't be moving. Catholics in Ukraine may have a clear example of what the literal fulfillment of the prophecies of Fatima and Sister Elena Aiello could look like in the future. The persecution of Catholics, Orthodox Christians, and dissident Protestants by their governments in the early 20th century in Soviet Russia, Nazi Germany, and other countries did not justify silencing the message of Fatima about the prophetic role that Russia would still have in the second half of the 20th century, as is evident in Sister Lucia’s controversial 1957 interview.

It is possible to relate the current situation to the prophetic context that exists within Catholic prophecy. For instance, if someone says that Paris will burn in flames according to Don Bosco’s prophecy, it does not mean that they know the exact political cause of instability that will lead to it, but rather the spiritual cause, which is divine retribution for the actions of its leaders—such as Macron’s project to include abortion in the charter of the European Union.

The Catholic Church is experiencing a kind of Babylonian captivity in Russia, with restrictions on activities involving proselytism. Although this is milder than the persecution currently taking place in China against Christians, it is still a sign that Russia has not yet truly converted. It is also worth remembering that in 2023, Putin opposed a total ban in Russia, as requested by the Orthodox Church, because, according to him, it would increase maternal mortality. If anyone knows how this aligns with the concept of a true conversion of a nation, please let me know.

I fear that people may feel uncomfortable posting about the prophetic timeline they have believed in for years, thinking that it could be seen as ideological alignment with the West, when in reality Catholic prophecy itself foresees that the great chastisement would actually be a punishment upon the West, which has abandoned its Catholic roots and seeks to erase God’s name from its constitution and society.

 

This video doesn't explain a thing. I used to believe that Alex Jones was insane but having learned that he earns about $20 million per year (per court documents in the several court cases for defamation and other offences) from coming up with evermore outlandish and frightening theories, I now believe that he is merely greedy and malicious.

This is the man who claimed that the Sandy Hook School shooting in which 20 infants and 6 adults died was a complete hoax, apparently set up by the Obama government in an effort to gain voter support for gun control. His supporters went on to harass and threaten the relatives of the victims. Since being sued by some of the parents, he withdrew his hoax claim. I don't suppose that he offered to share the millions that he made from calling grieving parents 'actors'. The fact that this man can be quoted as a reliable source in any matter on this forum is laughable. If there is a malign and secret body controlling everything done by western governments as this person claims, wouldn't Trump be aware of it as he is currently running one of them? He would. Would he tell the world? He would. Has he? He hasn't. I'm sure Jones can explain that too unless he has already done so.

The west is bad but the dictators in Russia, Iran, China and North Korea (allies against the 'wicked west') are INFINITELY worse even though not one of them permits gay parades, they don't permit Catholicism either except for a hemmed in and neutered Russian church. The head of the Ukrainian Catholic Church says that he was informed that he was on a Russian intended 'hit list' following the expected success of their '3 day invasion'. And the murderous thug who made that list and whose perceived enemies continue to 'fall from windows' is supported by some Catholics. Unbelievable.

 

Rick Sanchez is very reputable as a journalist, and his points are accurate, especially about Ukraine, and the EU. As for Alex Jones, I don’t care much about him. The video wasn’t about Alex Jones. The subject matter against the war in Ukraine is what’s important.

 

The chastisement is not for the west, its for the whole world.

 

I didn’t say that the chastisement would be restricted to the West, but rather that it would be in response to the apostasy of the countries that make it up and that have abandoned their Catholic Christian roots.

 

In part yes buts its really in response to the sin of the entire world. I dont think we can isolate any one region. Russia has the highest abortion rate in the world for example. They will surely be chastised as hard as anyone. Theres no one country or region bringing it on, and theres no one thats going to be exempt. Its all of our faults. We must all repent.

 

But I previously emphasized that Russia has not converted, and that in 2023 Putin rejected the Orthodox Church’s request to completely ban abortion in the country.

Indeed Mary. I remember very well the day I sat in my office in Dublin as a car bomb exploded to the right of me and another to the left of me. It was the start of rush hour. One bomb positioned close to the university and the other on a busy shopping street en route to the train station, the intention was to murder, maim and terrorise as many people as possible. Now I'm expected to take the word of the government responsible for that terrorism when they denounce others as thugs or murderers. A country too cowardly to fight their own battles while using others, this time Ukrainians, to die for their greed and lust for power. For all I know, Putin could be everything they say he is but he would have to sink to the deepest depths of the worst sewers to reach their level of depravity and disregard for human life. Their lust for blood in Eastern Europe is demonic enough but they top it off with active participation in the genocide in Gaza.

The blood of the children in Gaza is crying out to Heaven for justice. When retribution comes to us and we ask "where is God" will we have the shame to recall that we starved Him in Gaza?

 

Should we have nominated De Santis instead of Trump? I’m just so disappointed in this administration. Gaza is tragic. Also, why did he send warships and submarines to Venezuela, if he’s not going to oust Maduro? A surprise attack would have been wise, like Grenada. This waiting game will only help Venezuela and Colombia get more prepared.

 

We are in a mess. But look at what our alternative would have been. I honestly think we didn't have a choice. Now all we can do is pray and help where we can.

 

I doubt it would have made any difference who was elected. If we were better Christians with higher standards we would get better leaders confident enough to withstand pressure from shady backroom power brokers.

 

Yes we must not forget, we are getting the leaders we deserve.
