But thank God, He's still in charge!

The pain in the interim priest's voice was palpable. A priest 60 years--and a long time friend of Fr Altman. You can hear the pain in his voice reading that letter and in his comments afterward.

That was his Bishop, I believe. And he is also in conflict. He is suffering his own issues. It’s like a divorce: his side, her side, and what actually is the truth.

It’s possible to donate money earmarked for a certain cause, ie, “for electricity”
Or for “property maintenance.” If you do choose. That way the money is not taxed by the diocese.

Yes, there is pain on both sides. Christ established this Church. He instituted the Sacraments. This Bishop did not give Biden Holy Communion.
Garabandal, you are in Ireland where you have been deprived of the Sacraments for longer than we have in the US. We still have something left. Church of Nice or not.
Edit: something we teach our children, every action has consequences. Padraig has said that before. I sense that this is not a permanent rift
with Fr Altman. We just have to wait and see. Like it or not.

I've read Patheos before and largely stopped reading it,

First off, they use to take comments, I do not see that option to post comments on that page.

I sent this note in via their contact information, the author of the cited article.

Rebecca Hamilton likes to yell out and name-call Father Altman a racist, let's get this straight, his homestate has never lynched a black person, I am talking about Wisconsin. I wonder if Rebecca Hamilton would take on the issue of Democrats supporting abortion and that 1 in 3 abortions is a black unborn though, blacks are only 12-14% of the population, that sounds racist to me. How about that 40-50% of all black unborn are aborted??? Check your facts, check the blackgenocide.org site. Consider if one is indeed, instigating real racist policies because "black lives matter". Or are these unborn, "fetuses" not really fully human like slaves were not according to the Democrat party, historic home of the Ku Klux Klan back in the civil war days and Dred Scott. Disappointing to read such hate-mongering at your website.

    About Patheos

I am not sure if "anyone can write for Patheos", but I do think it is something like that....I had a bit of a run-in with one of their other writers I see on the contact pages, I won't even go into it, this is real fringe stuff: About Patheos We still need to be charitable to others. These are just out their writers, complaints, it probably does not even merit being called the "press"...and I now remember, I had a run in with one of their other writers.... they use to accept comments, It does appear some do. This "Patheos" may be a leftist-funded site..... I'd pay it little heed, like reading Democratic Underground or some other websites. I don't think this "Rebecca Hamilton" allows comments.

And back to Fr. Altman, yes, there are problems in the church, the Priests are the Pastors, the shepherds but the Laity has their duties as well.

That's what it comes down to. Bishop Paprocki of Illinois I mentioned said something about how now, everyone (more or less) go to Communion but are the Confession lines that long anymore? Bishop Paprocki said back some time ago, some people would only go to Communion two or three times a year, I have no idea about this but I understand his point.

    Thomas Paprocki - Wikipedia

Actually, I will say on that page listed above,

Steel Magnificat, Mary Pezzulo, I read a few of her columns, they seemed real left-wing and eventually, I split that scene, I stopped reading her: Steel Magnificat - Everything is grace (patheos.com) <---- I think she actually had some sort of "Stations of the Cross" book and hails from the city of Conservative Franciscan University, Steubenville, Ohio.

Here's another column: Dear Dave Armstrong RE: Celibacy | Marie Kopp (patheos.com) Talking about gays or something. Well, if Patheos does publish Dave Armstrong, I believe he is a conservative Catholic apologist... so maybe Patheos posts both sides.

But I largely tossed out Patheos some years ago.... Mary treated me okay but that other guy was a real stinker, I forget his name. Patheos is not the press.

If one has some real quarrels with what is written there, by all means, send off a letter to them.

Pardon me, this is a bit of a rant.

I will stick to more mainstream types of Catholic websites. There are plenty and these people seem to be a real minority.

Here is a website I found out about last week, The Catholic Thing , I think they are largely proper Catholic teaching.

The point is - the Bishop has given the libtards ammunition to label a good priest as a racist or whatever other label they want to put on Fr Altman -

The Bishop has in fact hung him out to dry --

More on that above, I think First Things | America’s Most Influential Journal of Religion & Public Life also, is more conventional Catholic thought.

Here is an article speaking about those schools in Canada, different topic but still:

The History of Canada's Residential Schools | Douglas Farrow | First Things

Over the past fortnight, some dozen churches in Canada, many serving indigenous people, were torched. A dozen more, most in non-indigenous contexts, were vandalized. “Burn it all down,” tweeted the director of the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association, to supportive cheers.

The chaos ensued after discovery of the remains of hundreds of indigenous youths, buried near the residential schools in which they were enrolled under a policy backed by the Indian Act of 1876. Amendments to this act in 1894 and 1920 made attendance at residential or industrial schools compulsory for those who lacked access to day schools. The last of the former, many of which were operated by the Catholic Church, closed its doors in 1996. Over more than a century, about 140,000 children passed through these schools. Upward of four thousand—perhaps as many as ten thousand—passed away while attending them or expired soon afterward.
Another topic but apparently discussing the problems Canada has experienced lately.

I see something similar to the racial issue going on in my Archdiocese. (DC)
    Not surprising
A good priest was transferred. I think what I am trying to say is that we don’t know how the Church was infiltrated, specifically, but we know it has been. You have mentioned wheat and tares before, several times, g.
We also know the Accuser never gets tired.
God is sorting this out. He is long suffering with “plenteous redemption”
As FP says, God has a plan.

The extremists seem to be the minority. Again, I think Patheos probably allows everyone to write....maybe these leftists there should even be seen as a big joke.

With Anti-fa, the left's infanticide and abortion policies, progressivism, the Left, the Democrat party are still basically the party of the Ku Klux Klan (yes, Democrats created it)... the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Ever since the tepid response to the McCarrick revelations, showing that these bishops knew and did nothing and continued to cover it up, we pulled all donations to the diocese. We only tithe to our parish's building fund which is not taxed by the diocese. If God's Truth doesn't move these men to real action, mabye mammon will...

These things have all occurred before.

    Recall, the Dominican Fr Savanarola.

There is something to learn from all sides, St. Louis de Montfort fell out of favor with nearly all of his superiors and that was a reflection on the Church hierarchy, so it is indeed, similar to what we have now.

You see in the 55-56 minute of this excellent video, Father de Montfort preached a mission and the parishioners were so moved, they all agreed to build a "Cavalry" memorial mountain, St. Louis and all of these Church attendees agreed to do this and the local Ecclesiastical authorities demand it be torn town (long story short, the authorities said the British who they were at war with could use this high elevation to spy, completely unfounded), so St. Louis eventually agreed to tear it down.

So, there are parallels, sometimes, we do need to stand up but do it prudently,

The Lepanto Institute's event that I attended showed this to me. The Lepanto Institute - Restoring All Things In Christ

Matthew 10:16, "Be ye therefore wise as serpents and simple (or innocent) as doves." (Douay-Rheims)

Yes, sometimes, clearly we need to stand up, I haven't meant to bring up personal matters, I am glad the Catholic Answers forum was closed, that "Tis_Bearself" runs that St. Isidore forum, at CA (Catholic Answers) I once talked about this man who'd usher daily masses but he was not appointed to do so, he sort of did this by himself, well, that's not proper actually, if one wants to usher, volunteer through the church, some took issue with him doing it. This "Tis_Bearself" took up the position this person was doing okay, I really wonder if "Tis_Bearself" has a Catholic background or attends Church normally, this was bullying, would, I hate to say virtually be a predator to berate people on issues, no love lost. One time, I showed this person there own words they said at Isidore's and they blocked me, enough of that, I had them on ignore at Catholic Answers in the first place. This person furthermore talked of facebook for "social reasoning", I didn't make fun of them for wanting to be social on facebook, that would be cruel, however, when I talked about after how when the Catholic forums closed, people could get in touch with me on twitter, possibly gab or parler, when I went to Isidore's forum, this was a real sucker-punch to make fun of someone and parler, there's no way talking about parler would have been picked up out of thin air and seemed likewise, something like stalking if not definitely so. Sometimes, we need to stand up; granted, I am a flawed individual as well. Just saying. Good riddance to these types and well all of us be more hospitable, heck, this above doesn't even address the issue of "infanticide" which the party that founded the Klan, the Democrats have some support of, maybe not all but some definitely and calling the right to life "politics" in effect. Better to leave these people alone on social media at least. Okay, I got that off my chest.
