Wow , that latest message is really a threatening doozy. Doesnt sound like God throughout. http://www.thewarningsecondcoming.com/god-the-father-you-are-either-for-me-or-against-me-the-choice-is-yours/ ... 'You are either for Me or against Me. The choice is yours.' ... This is My final call to offer you My Seal of Love. ... Sounds like Kevin Kostner with lousy dialog script.
LOL...Kevin Kostner? Well,I wouldn't have put it that way, but... It is written there that this one was received in an actual apparition of God the Father...can you even imagine? It talks about receiving a seal, then it says it will be received on our foreheads...stuff we have already read in other "messages" by other visionaries...but then of course some people on facebook interpreted this as the ashes we will receive tomorrow - to make it an immediate occurrance. Lord, please help these souls! Send the warning soon so everyone will finally understand what is right and what is wrong.
Thanks MC and Mario for clarifying indulgence info with some real facts. The point I was making was just based on observation that indulgences are pretty specific in what needs to be done and when they need to be done. In other words, receiving an indulgence that erases time in purgatory generally requires more than reciting a prayer at any old time. It is such a great, great grace that it requires some time and planning on our part to find confession, mass during a specific week of the year. I believe that the prayer posted by maria may give the impression that an indulgence that erases time in purgatory can be easily obtained at any time just by reciting a simple prayer. I can't believe that that would be true and can mislead people to sinning more and thinking they have been forgiven and have no further repurcussion in purgatory.
Purgatory is one of my favorite subjects and just now for the second time I'm immersed in a powerful little booklet called "AN UNPUBLISHED MANUSCRIPT ON PURGATORY" by Fatima House Publications. It's like Maria Simma's book "GET ME OUT OF HERE" in that the author is visited by a fellow nun who is in Purgatory relating the mysteries of what she finds. It's a must read, especially for Lent.
Hi guys, I've been reading about about maria's messages on here with interest. It was in trying to discern them that led me to this site. A friend recommended her site to me. At first I was very taken with them but then I discovered the errors and found I had an uneasy feeling and lack of peace after reading some of them. Since that time a priest named Fr. Owen Gorman has written on them in the Alive mag (to be published in the march issue) in which he has pointed out some serious doctrinal errors. Anyhow all of this has made me reflect how so many people can be drawn away from the truth so easily and following are a few of my thoughts: Perhaps some people for various reasons, never allow themselves the time to bear the fruit of their prayers (which can take years depending on the person's response to God's grace) within the garden of their souls and never get to that place of deep inner peace which the world cannot give nor can the world take away. If one is not tuned into that peace, one may look for it outside of oneself and so messages which reflect the discord of the inner person may take precedence. I think it could be the awareness of seeing so much evil in the world and feeling powerless against it that leads one to project one's powerlessness onto a powerful God who will do what we think He should do, ie strike down the wicked. On the other hand, if one has already attained that deep inner peace and allowed the soul's garden to bloom and is in frequent communication with Jesus and Mary through heartfelt prayer then one easily recognises his voice from that which is not. One is stil powerless but realises the battle is not ours but the Lord's. He gave us His peace, let us hold onto it! Like I say, these are just a few of my thoughts. God Bless Border collie
Theres your 'Random Priest Theory' in action: Ask a random priest any question on the faith and its a toss-up, a coin flip,a 50%-50% chance you'll get an incorrect answer. This works in general, but is most egregious on the most serious of doctrinal questions: 2nd marriage ok?, IVF, contraception, can I vote for Obama again? Nice people, elderly people who think their priest is so nice and wonderful, they couldn't detect a bad priest from a truly orthodox one, but unknownst to them their priest is full of error and heresy and they lean on him! I'd like to read this. Would be nice if someone posted a link here when the article goes up. Thanks.
Here is a link to Fr. Owen Gorman on the 'Alive' Febuary edition, when they update to March you can read his article on 'Maria'. Fr Gorman and 'Alive' are very, very orthodox Catholic indeed, i would trust them both: http://www.alive.ie/fr-owen-gorman-column.html
I have often heard the editor of the Alive mag (Fr. Brian McKevitt OP) give a homily in Medj. He is a gifted speaker.
Fr. Gorman is on EWTN a lot, right? I recognize him from there. I look forward to reading his comments! Very good insights, Border Collie. I agree. I also know priests who I do not agree with on things, and who seem to have a different version of the CCC than I do! But they are still very good priests, they just need help like the rest of us. Mary seems to know this as she is asking us every month to pray for our priests, our shephards. They need to know where and how to lead us in these turmultious times! We are all human and we all tend to slant things to match our own ideas, priests included. As with a doctor, I think if you don't like what a priest tells you, you need to get a second, and perhaps a third opinion. Then check the books too. With so much controversy bombarding us these days, its a wonder we are not all loopy!
Fr Owen Gorman exposes the dangers and serious doctrinal errors in the messages of Maria Divine Mercy in the March edition of Alive newspaper: http://www.alive.ie/fr-owen-gorman-column.html
Did you see that a recent message defends his right to give out a plenary indulgence any time he pleases, in any manner he pleases? Of course we here have been pointing out the error in the way this indulgence is missing key components and now Alive magazine does also. There is no instruction to confess your sins in any way in this indulgence. Why would you receive absolution if you did not ask for forgivemess? Nevermind going to confession even, there is nowhere in the prayer that you ask to be forgiven of your sins. I wish Fr. Gorman would have pointed out the part about Jesus taking back the "keys" from Peter...that is probably the gravest error in my book. And slandering the next pope after Benedict before he is even in office...That so goes against everything the church teaches and has taught for 2000 years. I think between those things and this indulgence-thing alone, the church chould publicly condemn the messages and be done with it. I think the two items I mentioned above have the scariest implications. If people believe that the next pope is evil, and that God has taken back the keys with his election, then everyone who follows these messages will turn AWAY from the Pope's authority after Benedict!!!! Think about this! What better way to lead Catholics to some other "truth" than to turn them against the Vatican? That is exactly what these messages are doing. Oh how I wish Fr. Gorman would have addressed that. I am bringing it up again here in hopes that it does get out in the open again...because the messages where these things are discussed are buried now and have to be "dug" out. We do have links to them though in the old Warning Second Coming thread.
Fr Gormans article is a bit slight and weak. I am no dispenser of truth, just my half-educated opinion follows. Compare his Point 1: http://www.alive.ie/fr-owen-gorman-column.html with what Mark Mallet has wrote this week on the same subject: http://www.markmallett.com/blog/2012/03/how-the-era-was-lost/ Mark Mallets article is a deep read, perhaps 45 mins worth. I dont think Mark Mallet and Fr. Gorman agree on this topic. For now will stick with the understanding of Mark Mallets excellent article. Some people also refer to the Illumination/Warning as a sort of second coming, but not the final 'Second Coming'. Consequently the message that TWSC : "Many people believe that My Second Coming indicates that the end of the world has come. This is not the case, for instead, it will mean the End Times when Satan and his followers will be banished from earth for 1000 years." Acc. to Mark Mallet the above would be true, but the actual wording of 'Second Coming' may be inaccurate or false. I can mostly agree with Point 2 although some elucidation is always possible vis a vi' 'The Devolopment of Doctrine'. I wouldnt pick Point #2 to be one of 3 points in which to contradict the messages. Point 3 no problem there, having purported apparitions willy nillying declaring indulgences is within the Pope's purview. On the whole not the most solidly constructed denial of TheWarningSecondComing (TWSC).
Very interesting re Mark Mallet, RB2. It is a bit confusing though that Fr. Gorman states that the message of the "1000 years etc " contradicts Catholic Church teaching. One would think he would have researched this and would give an accurate response, given that so many people look to the church for guidance. God Bless Border collie
Hi MomsCalling, From my understanding, Fr. Gorman would have liked to elaborate more in the article but was tied to space. It has even been edited from the email attachment I received some weeks ago. God Bless Border collie
Sunday, March 4th, 2012 @ 03:30 pm "My dearly beloved daughter the time for the opening of the seals which will result in you opening the seventh seal is almost upon you." It is my understanding that it is Jesus Himself that opens the seven seals (re: Wrath of the Lamb). Here Jesus tells the prophet that she will be opening the seventh seal. This confuses and concerns me. Rev 6:1 Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "Come and see." Rev 8:1 When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. The prophet claims we are "mid trib" if so I have a few questions. First, where is the revealing of the son of perdition? Reveal, Greek Apokaluto = to take of the cover, to disclose, to be made known. 2Th 2:2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 2Th 2:3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, The tribulation is clearly divided in 2 halves of one thousand two hundred and sixty days. The first known as the wrath of the Lamb, the second as the wrath of God. If we are halfway thru where are the two witnesses? They must be on earth either the first or second one thousand two hundred and sixty days. (I believe it is the first) Rev 11:3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth." Where is the covenant the antichrist makes with Israel and it's enemies that occurs at the beginning of the tribulation? Dan_9:27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate." Finally where is the temple that must be built on the temple mount in order for the abomination to be placed and where the antichrist sets up his throne to call himself god? Dan_11:31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. Mat_24:15 "Therefore when you see the 'ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" Rev 13:5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Rev 13:6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. There are many things said that contradict scripture and catholic doctrine.Niether is scripture ever used to back up what is claimed. This discerned by scripture is false prophesy and is leading many astray. Jesus is the word of God, Neither He, His mother or the Father would say anything to contradict it. Mat 18:16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that 'BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY WORD MAY BE ESTABLISHED.' I mean no disrespect to the messenger, but cast down this message. Your will be done on earth as it IS in Heaven.
Nice one Billington! So Maria Divine Mercy is supposed to open the 'Seventh Seal' which is really another era(as most would conclude) from the first 6 seals and their related events. The Seventh Seal containing '7 angels with 7 trumpets' and more bemoanful things coming to earth. In addition the half hour of silence in heaven following the opening of the seventh seal, is probably a very long time period here on earth. Catholic Eschatology states that there is a 'little chastisement' and a 'big chastisement'. Our era now is the time of the little chastisement( but it will not be little to us). In addition, the 'big chastisement' is fully associated with the 'end times' proper and the 'Second Coming' proper, which is not any of our lifetimes. Some people have commented that the 'little chastisement' is the first 6 seals. Which seems likely, but no one really knows! Especially in regards to 'Revelations', just as Jesus's incarnation, birth, life and mission was in scripture in bits and pieces and overlays onto other stories, no one truly anticipated the reality of it from what they understood through scriptures.
rb2, Let me know what you think; To me Rev 8:1-6 is an imagery of the "Feast Of Atonement". In the Bible God always has types and shadows of what He is going to do in the future or is a picture of what is in heaven. eg. Everything God had Moses make in the tabernacle (furniture, Candle sticks, etc.) was a copy of the throne room of God that John see's in the book of Revelation. The whole ceremony and rituals where a picture of what Jesus was going to fulfill. On the Day Of Atonement (only the high priest) would go into the Holy of Holies to offer incense up to God. The incense was a picture of the Prayers of the Saints. Psa 141:2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. When the Priest entered the Holy of Holies there would be 30 minutes of silence (roughly the time the process took). Rev 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. Rev 8:3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. Rev 8:4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. As soon as the seal is opened the prayers of the saints are released and judgement is passed on earth. Rev 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? It looks to me that the angel may be Jesus himself, Why?; - only the high priest would preform this ritual = Jesus is our High Priest in Heaven. (there is more also). There are many more "pictures and shadow's" of this feast and the others as well, that I see in Revelation but I'll see what you think of this first. Thanks and God Bless.
