But the following law reflects what God personally spoke to Noah when his family exited the Ark, which precedes the Law of Moses:

Genesis 9:5 ...And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being. 6“Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind."

What was instructed by Pope John Paul II and subsequently Francis, speaks of what needs to be done to protect society. But both either are silent on, or bypass the above Scripture requirement for reparation. Another commandment which ultimately requires reparation is, Thou shall not steal. This too requires reparation. So if I steal $30 from a co-worker, besides confessing the sin, I should make reparation by repaying at least the same amount of money to the injured party.

After all, reparation was made for sin in all its forms by the death of Christ on the Cross. And St. Paul argued that we all have the privilege of participating in the task of reparation:

2Cor 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Collosians 1:24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church.*

    John Paul II
believed there were grounds for shifting the idea only on reparation for murder to focusing on preventing further murders
    through incarceration.

But that was a slippery slope now used by Pope Francis to state that there is no further justification for capital punishment, thus obscuring the need for reparation.

Prior to Pope Francis' all-encompassing verdict, the Church upheld the principle of reparation, and the Vatican State had erected gallows for the punishment of murderers under its jurisdiction.

This is the area I struggle in: setting aside 5 millennium upholding capital punishment.

*1.24 what is lacking: Christ’s sufferings were, of course, sufficient for our redemption, but all of us may add ours to his, in order that the fruits of his redemption be applied to the souls of men.

Precedes doth not make it superior...
Exodus 21:12 states that “whoever strikes a man so that he dies shall be put to death”, and Leviticus 24:17 states that “he who kills a man shall be put to death.”
That's Mosaic law - Still followed by some (non-Christian) Jews.
In our New Covenant from Jesus, and Sitting upon God's Holy Spirit, we're not bound by the Old Covenant Mosaic Law.
Mosaic Law superseded Noahic laws.. And the New Covenant supersedes Mosaic laws..

You've stated this clearly before, but what you're not responding to is the issue of reparation that was adhered to by the Church prior to the New Catechism (which I greatly admire).

    Peace.

    Perhaps he is or not.
However, those (Jewish Sanhedrin) who handed Christ over to Pilate to "Crucify him" (they demanded) -
    - not only sentenced Jesus to Death,
they also blackmailed (threatened to speak to Caesar) Pilate (who found no reason to Execute Jesus)
    - they're Guilty of a greater sin than Pilate - according to Jesus!

they will be judged more severely because they fully knew the messianic scriptures and prophecies and yet rejected Christ, this also applies to Catholics who, having full knowledge of scripture, magisterium and tradition, embark on the final apostasy:

    LUKE 12:42-59

42And the Lord replied, “Who, then, is the faithful and prudent steward whom the master will put in charge of his servants to distribute [the] food allowance at the proper time?

43Blessed is that servant whom his master on arrival finds doing so.

44Truly, I say to you, he will put him in charge of all his property.

45But if that servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed in coming, and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, to eat and drink and get drunk,

46then that servant’s master will come on an unexpected day and at an unknown hour and will punish him severely and assign him a place with the unfaithful.

    47That servant who knew his master’s will but did not make preparations nor act in accord with his will shall be beaten severely;

48and the servant who was ignorant of his master’s will but acted in a way deserving of a severe beating shall be beaten only lightly. Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.

49“I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing!

50 There is a baptism with which I must be baptized, and how great is my anguish until it is accomplished!

51Do you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division.

    52From now on a household of five will be divided, three against two and two against three;

53a father will be divided against his son and a son against his father, a mother against her daughter and a daughter against her mother, a mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

    54He also said to the crowds, “When you see [a] cloud rising in the west you say immediately that it is going to rain—and so it does;

55and when you notice that the wind is blowing from the south you say that it is going to be hot—and so it is.

56You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky; why do you not know how to interpret the present time?

57“Why do you not judge for yourselves what is right?

58If you are to go with your opponent before a magistrate, make an effort to settle the matter on the way; otherwise your opponent will turn you over to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the constable, and the constable throw you into prison.

59I say to you, you will not be released until you have paid the last penny.”

    Yes..

Of all peoples, the ones to whom the Mosaic law was specifically given to by God, wound up disobeying Moses .. and (the Sanhedrin) sentencing God's Son to Death...

Jesus' list of Enormous Woes - is specifically hurled at them...

Seven Woes on the Teachers of the Law and the Pharisees

13 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. [14]

15 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are.

16 “Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gold of the temple is bound by that oath.’ 17 You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred? 18 You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gift on the altar is bound by that oath.’ 19 You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred? 20 Therefore, anyone who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. 21 And anyone who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it. 22 And anyone who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the one who sits on it.

23 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. 24 You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

25 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.

27 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

29 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30 And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ 31 So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started!

33 “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? 34 Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. 35 And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. 36 Truly I tell you, all this will come on this generation.

37 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. 38 Look, your house is left to you desolate. 39 For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”

Now this would explain the urgency and thoroughness of Francis' discouragement of the celebration of the Tridentine Mass. He appears to hope that all Christians (and maybe even non-Christians?) will feel comfortable at a common 'Communion Service' that will offend no-one (except Heaven and us) and is intent on changing the form and content of the Mass to that end. The continued celebration of the Tridentine Mass would obviously stand in unmistakeable opposition to such a common understanding of the Eucharist since it is clearly a representation of the Sacrifice of Calvary. My doubts about the legitimacy of his election give me some comfort that if the time came to abandon him, I would not be abandoning the Church, as well as possibly an understanding of Our Lady's words about Bishops and Cardinals opposing each other because such a common service would (I presume) finally 'set the cat among the pigeons'.

one of the proposals of the German synod is to grant lay people the power to appoint bishops; So, considering the current state of the world, if francis adopts this globally, wouldn't it be an inverted pyramid pointing to hell? if such a scenario coincides with the decentralization of Church government (in the hands of the episcopacy), perhaps the concept of obedience to the papacy will be replaced by the power emanating from the people (sheep without a shepherd)?

    The Vatican has Fallen...

Francis has already joined forces (Dec 2020) w/all the top Globalists in the world - including the Rothschilds..

The Dangerous Alliance of Rothschild and the Vatican of Francis

The most globalist and interventionist Pope since the Crusades of the 12th Century
has formalized an alliance with the largest figures in global finance led by none other than that noble banking family, Rothschild.
The new alliance is a joint venture they call “
Council for Inclusive Capitalism with the Vatican.
The venture is one of the more cynical and given the actors, most dangerous frauds being promoted
since Davos WEF guru and Henry Kissinger protégé, Klaus Schwab, began to promote the Great Reset of the world capitalist order.

What and who is behind the
Council for Inclusive Capitalism with the Vatican?

yea; the same pope who handed over the command of the Chinese Church to the communist government (where persecution is effectively taking place at the moment) is making alliances with various capitalist and communist groups that want to impose a new world order; by the way, it's curious that cardinal Pietro parolin (who is very close to Francis) who mediated the Church's agreement with the Chinese dictatorship participated in a meeting with the globalist group Bilderberg in 2018 (by the way, I posted it on this forum, I just don't remember the topic) .

OK.. And if francis adopts this globally,"? - is neither here nor there - for there's no "if" anymore: for the Vatican has already Fallen.

The very fact that a pope would even semi-dilly dally for years with the German Bishopry.. tells the real tale..
Anything connected with them / synod / Francis ? Is pure fluff ..
A Vicar of Christ with Christ inside would have given them a List of Woes! -- Years ago,,,

The Chinese are relatively small potatoes when compared with the Western Global-Wide Globalism/Globalists - who remind of agents of AntiChrist/Satan.

there are no small potatoes when it comes to our fellow Christians who are being persecuted in China; if we are concerned about the emergence of groups that can dominate the Church and the world; we cannot ignore that we have a nation that effectively shows what the final ordeal of the Church will be like; there are various groups fighting for a new world order; Bilderbergs; world social forum; international communism; masonry; Rosicrucian order; etc. the fact is that we must not speak of a lesser evil or allow ourselves to be seduced by them.

Without Forgetting the millions of deaths caused by the West in many nations in their attempts to overthrow nations for reason of instilling a baloney Democracy?
Actually they are.. when compared to say the humongous numbers of deaths of Christians due to eg., the wars financed by the Rothschilds.
And the totality of AntiChristian GLOBALISM even dwarfs the Rothschilds.
AntiChristianity flowered very very big time in Jerusalem - circa 2000 years ago, when Jesus was sentenced to death.. .
