These are the times that test men's souls. The Days of Sorrow are upon us. John 10:11 Jesus the Good Shepherd …10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness. 11I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. 12The hired hand is not the shepherd, and the sheep are not his own. When he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf pounces on them and scatters the flock.…
Some good news from a good, godly bishop! Catholic Bishop Tells Pro-Abortion Politicians: Don’t Present Yourselves for Communion https://www.lifenews.com/2022/02/02...icians-dont-present-yourselves-for-communion/
I'm deeply distressed over these latest claims of Pope Francis. In part he states: Continuing his theme, Pope Francis posed himself a question about membership of the communion of saints. “‘Father, let us think of those who have denied the faith, who are apostates, who are the persecutors of the Church, who have denied their baptism: are these also at home?’,” he asked. “Yes, even these, even the blasphemers, all of them. We are brothers: this is the communion of saints. The communion of saints holds together the community of believers on earth and in heaven.” The Catechism teaches: 1861 Mortal sin is a radical possibility of human freedom, as is love itself. It results in the loss of charity and the privation of sanctifying grace, that is, of the state of grace. If it is not redeemed by repentance and God's forgiveness, it causes exclusion from Christ's kingdom and the eternal death of hell, for our freedom has the power to make choices for ever, with no turning back. However, although we can judge that an act is in itself a grave offense, we must entrust judgment of persons to the justice and mercy of God. To say that those who freely choose to abandon their baptismal promises, who shake their fists in the face of God and say, "I will not serve You, and reject Your Lordship"; to claim they are in communion with the Church, the Mystical Body of Christ, is, for me, to ultimately say that God is not Holy. I hope that our Pope will be attentive to this Sunday's first reading from Isaiah 6. In the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne, with the train of his garment filling the temple. Seraphim were stationed above. They cried one to the other, “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts! All the earth is filled with his glory!” At the sound of that cry, the frame of the door shook and the house was filled with smoke. Then I said, “Woe is me, I am doomed! For I am a man of unclean lips, living among a people of unclean lips; yet my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, holding an ember that he had taken with tongs from the altar. He touched my mouth with it, and said, “See, now that this has touched your lips, your wickedness is removed, your sin purged.” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” “Here I am,” I said; “send me!” Let us continue to pray for the Pope at the end of our Rosaries!
I do pray for our Pope. Like you, I was taught that mortal sin kills the cell in the Mystical Body of Christ.
Look at this heresy, good grief: Key Synod cardinal: Catholic teaching on homosexuality is ‘false’ https://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=53759
If this Synod Cardinal has any influence over the outcome of the 2023 Synod in Rome, does it portend the possibility that the input from around the dioceses of the world will in turn call for a change in the Church's perennial condemnation of homosexual acts and lifestyle? After all, Pope Francis claims it was the feedback from the Vatican's survey on the TLM, that encouraged him to move forward on the TLM's suppression. Lord have Mercy!
Quote: "There is only discussion of homosexual acts, which were to some extent pagan cultic acts." How strange, then, that (at least until recently?) American (at least) Pagans (a close friend was one) celebrated male and female ... fecundity / pregnancy ... childbirth ... menstrual cycles (as unique to women and VITAL TO LIFE). NATURAL and TRADITIONAL attitudes of humankind. And here WE are, in 2022...
I believe they will use the Synod in Germany as a testing ground for reforms in the Church worldwide; the fact that the Synod of Germany will also conclude in 2023 seems to point to this
It looks as though we are living out this prophecy darkness will cover the earth….but our Lady will restore the one true church!)
This happened in the past few days: Irishman removed from Vatican by police after shouting abuse at Pope Francis during audience (msn.com) (BTW, I read in initial reports, that this man was shouting things like "The Church is not being what it should be", things like this versus the calling it abuse as this article says. Maybe I will find out what exactly he said, of course, I gather he was interrupting things. There should be video of the weekly audience. Then, this forum was fortunate to have a Lebanese forum member this past week, however, this story is not cheerful: World Bank, Vatican Blast Lebanon’s Rulers for Profiting From Country’s Suffering (voanews.com) ... Lebanon's President Michel Aoun meets with the Vatican's foreign minister Archbishop Paul Gallagher at the presidential palace in Baabda, Lebanon, Feb. 1, 2022. Well, I'm not apt to comment on this, perhaps others, including the member are. At the old Catholic Answers forum, I know, there was a man from Lebanon in the forum ever so often. What he said, I can relate though, is that the group, Hezbollah and others I gather, actually kept him from possibly telling us all he could about Lebanon via the internet. So, that internet was actually monitored?? He didn't care to say too much. Anyway, to the story and perhaps, I will find out more. In the picture, I gather, is the Christian President, Aoun. Looks like an old Roman statue behind them. I wonder if fault is found with Aoun? Or is the blame being layed more on the Hezbollah types?? Pope Francis says those who have ‘denied the faith’ are ‘at home’ in ‘the communion of saints’ In his 1943 encyclical, Mystici corporis Christi, Pope Pius XII teaches that 'only those are to be included as members of the Church who have been baptized and profess the true faith'
These people are more than likely sexual deviants themselves. It seems to me unlikely that they have any Faith and that their intention is the destruction of the Catholic Church.
On further reflection, that comment by Pope Francis above could be summarised more succinctly by the phrase 'do what you will'. It's difficult to avoid the conclusion that anyone who tries to live righteously, even if often unsuccessfully, is only an idiot. Take every pleasure you can in this world, no matter how iniquitous, express any opinion you like, no matter how blasphemous, and you're still saved, right now (isn't a member of the communion of saints 'saved', by definition? Surely, there is no possibility, once saved, of being unsaved?). And, was there any mention of repentance-even if there was in a later qualification, it still wouldn't dispel the notion of sinners concurrently being saints? It reminds me of the theologian Pope Benedict described who told him that all those who didn't believe would be saved because they didn't know the truths of the faith-in other words, making the Faith a curse rather than a gift-you'd be guaranteed salvation without it, according to this theologian, but if you had the faith, you'd better watch yourself. In other words, to evangelise would not be to spread salvation but damnation. This kind of broken thinking can have only one, infernal, source.
