I'm sick of these fancy 'modern' crosses -- what is wrong with wearing a proper crucifix? That rainbow cross thing is grotesque fit only for the bin as its not even cross-shaped as it is bent. Hell-bent. Sorry but enough is enough.
I posted this on another thread, but I just wanted to post it here too since most people probably read this thread. I hate to say this because I know we are supposed to be charitable, but I have showed that picture to several people. All of them came to the same conclusion. They believed it was a homosexual cross. Could this be just another in the many "faux pas" that have come out of the Vatican? Yes, it could be a public relations mistake of monumental proportions. I don't think so though. I think this was very, very clever. Just like everything else they leave themselves a loophole. Most people will not research this, they will just see the Pope and the bishops wearing rainbow crosses. And what does the rainbow signify worldwide today? Homosexuality. No one is going to see that image and think "Oh, that signify's Latin American youth!" There is great power in imagery. This was a powerful image. I believe their explanation for this as much as I believe they "forgot" about footnote 351 in Amoris Laetitia which said it is okay for adulterer's to receive Holy Communion. One faux pas after another. Perhaps I am being uncharitable here, but how charitable are we supposed to be with these subversives who are destroying the Church?
This is also an excellent example of gaslighting. I proposed that was what was happening about a year ago, long before 1P5 ran the article on it. Gaslighting is very often an abuser tactic used to make the person being abused think that they are misunderstanding the situation and that the abuser is not really as bad as they appear. It also is extremely bad for mental health. Over time it can literally drive people nuts. Making the person being abused question reality constantly. Anyone who wants to understand why the Vatican will do crazy things then suddenly come out with very Catholic sounding statements, seemingly out of the blue, needs to read up on gaslighting. That's what it is plain and simple.
Yes, I was wondering this myself. I was afraid perhpas I was being uncharitable, but, yes, I was wondering this myself. How sad to have to be so suspicious about a Pope.
I think you were very charitable in your response to what the Vatican claims the explanation is, but I am reaching the point where I find it very difficult to be that charitable without feeling like a fool. Like I am making excuses for bad behavior. Still maybe you are right and we should take them at their word. I don't know. All I know is "Fool me once shame on you, fool me a hundred times, shame on me."
Yes everyone knows the rainbow stuff represents the homo agenda. Still they wore it, but they had a safe bolthole with the South American thing. They always leave themselves a safe rat hole.
Still, its become much much more blatant this last few years. From Christmas displays to symbols on vestments to stangs, and now of course rainbow crosses that are anything but traditional. Someone knows these objects are going to be used and offered to Pope Francis long before they actually are publicly in the frame of the cameras present and they are discerning that its fine. In fact, knowing just how narcissistic many of these men are I think they enjoy it and I would bet that they get a big laugh about it at coco's parties. People are wising up. We know that none of this is happening by chance or coincidentally.
I'm not buying their story. With the sneaky, diabolical, inclusion of the term 'LGBT' in the synod documents, who can believe that this symbol is anything but a nod to the homosexual agenda? They really think that we are fools.
The Plan All Along It's really obvious. October 19, 2018 https://www.churchmilitant.com/video/episode/vortex-the-plan-all-along TRANSCRIPT I'm Michael Voris coming to you from Rome where we are here covering the so-called Synod on the Youth — and where it is becoming increasingly, not just clear, but obvious that the point of this synod is the normalization of homosexuality in the Church. In fact, this has been the plan all along, Cdl, George Pell pointed out back in the 2014 Extraordinary Synod on the Family. You'll recall that first Synod on the Family in 2014 and then the follow-up synod the next year were the synods which produced the apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia and all the attendant controversy over divorced and civilly remarried Catholics being admitted to Holy Communion. That controversy spun off the further controversy of the Dubia, and the Church from that moment on was off to the races as orthodox and heterodox formed around theological issues. But underlying all this was what Abp. Viganò correctly identified as the "homosexual current" in the Church and specifically the Vatican. Everything that has happened in the Francis papacy traces directly back to the issue of homosexuality — even Amoris Laetitia. In 2014, George Pell, the cardinal of Sydney, Australia, came out on camera and said the entire question about divorced and civilly remarried Catholics and Holy Communion was nothing more than a "stalking horse" — his words — to grease the skids for the question of homosexuality being accepted in the Church. Even without changing the teaching — which can't be done — the practice and attitude can be changed, just like the teaching on contraception. The teaching, re-affirmed by Paul VI in 1968, although in different terms than the previous two thousand years, sit there firmly in place alongside all the other teachings, but it is almost completely rejected, ignored and even mocked in the day to day life of the vast majority of Catholics. That rejection of Church teaching in one area of sexuality opened the door — or Pandora's Box — for rejection in other areas as well. And since the 1960s, the flood of homosexual men into the priesthood and then their subsequent rise to the episcopate and the College of Cardinals has created the environment where they feel perfectly able to assert their will and force the issue. And that is what this synod is about — and it's all it's about. In the weeks leading up to the synod, Cdl. Baldisseri, for example, simply lied about the inclusion — for the first time ever in an official Church document — the acronym "LGBT." He said it came from an earlier working document, which it did not, and when he was discovered in his lie by reporters, he took the Pope Francis approach of telling the reporters he wasn't going to change or do a thing. And behind the scenes, again in the run-up to the official opening of the synod earlier this month, multiple homosexual activist groups have been working with the various planning committees helping craft the language and agenda. For example, the group led by gay-cheerleader Chicago Cdl. Cupich wants the Church to recognize, "accept and even honor ... other forms of family" — what he terms every family unit. At the same time, Honduran Cdl. Rodriguez Maradiaga is pushing for "pastoral care" for "marriage between homosexuals, surrogate pregnancy and adoption by same-sex couples." The fix is in and it's screamingly obvious. This is the moment the homosexual clergy has been pushing for, their brass ring, for the past 50 years. And if a certain percentage of them rape altar boys and destroy the lives and vocations of seminarians, oh well, the Pope just ignores it and they know it — so in effect, nothing slows them down. These men, the cardinals involved in this, are absolute deviants and degenerates, at the very least in terms of theology and who knows what else. They lash out at victims, just as Pope Francis did in Chile. They accuse men who were raped by homosexual clergy of gossip. They tell them to shut up. They tell them to trust. They are steamrolling over everything in their path — souls, the faith, truth, it doesn't matter, rushing like madmen to their finish line. They are so depraved in their ambitions to use the Church to normalize their evil that they care about nothing else. That is the headline here in Rome, the crushing of any and all opposition, on the march toward the blessing of gay sex. In 2014, Church Militant came here to cover the synod, and, like others, immediately detected that homosexual undercurrent in the working documents — especially the mid-term relatio. We'd like to take you back for a moment to that very revealing exchange between us and Abp. Bruno Forte, who had actually written into the relatio that "Homosexuals have gifts and qualities to offer the Christian community: are we capable of welcoming these people, guaranteeing to them a further space in our communities?" Forte's non-response, played off laughingly, like demons do, was very suspicious at the time for those who were listening intently like Church Militant. That small section in the mid-term document was the camel's nose under the tent. James Martin appeared on the scene announcing unprecedented signs of hope for gays. Other Vaticanistas called it an earthquake and beyond remarkable — and it was. Every homo-cleric in the Church got the message. The time had come, at last, to have the Church bless sodomy in the name of charity and mercy and justice. And four years later — almost to the day — these same sodomite clergy have assembled again, using children and young people as their cover, to look like and pretend they are listening to the young. They will produce an already determined likely already written document, "vote" on it and then declare the Church has changed, not necessarily the official teaching, but in every other way conceivable. Pope Francis will more than likely produce some statement or document and then the gay cabal here in Rome will assert all this evil as being the work of the Holy Spirit, continue to advance homosexual clerics, cover for their evil, refuse to answer media questions, work on producing a fake investigation, attack victims while pretending to care for them and allow good, mostly young, priests to be completely plowed under by their homosexualist bishops. Anyone who thinks the Church is pulling out of this maelstrom anytime soon simply doesn't understand the situation. If there was ever a time for the faithful laity to step up, this is it. Stop giving money. Start demanding adherence to the teachings of the Church. And get on your knees.

Yes they have been pushing this homosexual thing all along. This thing with the rainbow crosses is just the latest part of it. I'm not buying their excuse. If this was still the pontificate of some other Pope and they wore rainbow crosses at a synod then I would believe them 100% if they said it was representing something else. I would think it was a mistake to wear them, but I would believe that they honestly made a bad decision. That is because if the rest of the teaching coming from them is orthodox then it would make no sense for them to suddenly switch to promoting homosexuality. That, however, is not what is happening in this pontificate. The homosexual agenda is being promoted and fast tracked. If you are someone like Fr. James Martin or Cardinal Marx you are promoted and brought to the Vatican. If you are orthodox like Cardinal Sarah or Cardinal Burke you are marginalized. It is clear as day what is happening. The rainbow cross seems to me to be part of this agenda. I am all for being charitable, but we are being spiritually abused here. Is it charitable for a wife who is being beaten to excuse her husband every time he hits her? Or at some point is it okay for her to stand up and say "What you are doing is not okay." We collectively are the Bride of Christ. What they are doing is not okay.
I most definitely am hanging on. "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the message of eternal life." I think things are going to get much, much worse before they get better
This is my constant prayer—adding if You mark iniquities Lord who can stand? But with You is mercy and fullness of redemption. I find I pray this prayer from the psalms almost unconsciously sometimes. Our need is so great.
