The Vatican Has Fallen

We know that Cardinal Timothy Dolan of NYC attended that hideous Met Gala that blasphemed the Church and Our Lady and Our Lord*, he appears to support homosexuality by approving of LGBTs marching in the St. Patrick's Day parade**, he hob nobs with all of his democratic friends including Hillary Clinton who supported late term abortions and he hob nobs with NY's Gov. Andrew Cuomo who was born in NYC but claimed that he is an undocumented immigrant and threatened President Trump to deport him.

Now, Cardinal Dolan sits down with Gov. Cuomo's brother Chris Cuomo a reporter for CNN to discuss how wrong it is to separate illegal immigrants' "babies" from their mother's at the Mexico border who want to come to the USA. Cardinal Dolan states he does not want to be political. In actuality, he is political just not orthodox. In addition, I don't believe that he spoke up for the future babies to be born in Ireland last month before the referendum was voted on, unless I missed that.

This link is to a tweet that contains an email address for people to use if they are concerned about the fact that Fr. James Martin will be speaking in Ireland at the World Meeting of Families. It is my understanding that folks can send an email protesting Fr. Martin's presence at that upcoming event.

Martin needs to be Defrocked! The man is a disgrace. He sent out a tweet directly comparing what is happening on the border right now with nazi! now I am not completely comfortable with what is going on with the border either, but no one is being separated permanently and MURDERED after they are taken away. No one is being killed and no one will never see their families again.

He is hell bent on starting an uprising, maybe he has his panties in a bunch because PF said 1 man, 1 women.. but whatever it is the Jim Martin is a disgrace

That's blaming the monkey while giving a pass to the organ grinder. Fr. Martin has the papal seal of approval. He says what the Pope wants to say but can't because he's the Pope.

Pope Francis has demonstrated to us that it's ok to be a Nazi provided you are a socialist Nazi and that it's ok to be a Nazi provided you support the theory of man-made climate change.

Fr. Martin is an obedient and faithful son and representative of the Pope. Sadly, their actions and statements over this past few years raised serious questions about whether either of them is an obedient and faithful son of the Church.

Critics plan rival conference to World Meeting of Families in Dublin

The parallel conference will feature Bishop Athanasius Schneider and Cardinal Burke

Critics of the Vatican-backed World Meeting of Families have announced a parallel conference to be held at the same time.

The World Meeting of Families is set to be held in Dublin in August, and the alternative series, the Conference of Catholic Families, will be held in nearby Ballsbridge.

The National Catholic Register says the two-day conference, sponsored by the Lumen Fidei Institute, will centre around Pope Pius XI’s 1930 encyclical Casti Connubii, addressing the topics of marriage, procreation and conception. Speakers include Fr Thomas Weinandy, a member of the Vatican’s International Theological Commission; Dr Robert Royal, founder and president of the Faith & Reason Institute; and John Smeaton, director of Britain’s Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC).

Also speaking are Bishop Athanasius Schneider, pro-life philosopher Professor Stéphane Mercier, and Dr Gerard van den Aardweg, a psychologist and psychoanalyst. Cardinal Raymond Burke will be present through a live video feed.

The World Meeting of Families, the Vatican-sponsored conference, is centred around Pope Francis’s apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia. The Pope will speak as will Jesuit Fr James Martin. Fr Martin’s speech is called “Exploring how parishes can support those families with members who identify as LGBTI+”.

While the two conferences are scheduled for the same time, the leaders of the Conference of Catholic Families said their goal is not to compete but rather to help explain the church’s views on marriage and family.

Many people do not realize how important it is NOT to use the language of the enemies of the Church. We should make it a point to avoid using the language they use all of the time.

There is no LGBTQRSTUV. There is same sex attraction, which is a perversion of nature that some sadly suffer from.

There is no "gay marriage". Calling it that makes a mockery of what marriage truly is.

Babies are not merely "fetuses". If you don't want your baby you call it a "fetus" so that makes it easier to kill. This has long been a tactic used in war to make it easier to kill the enemy. Dehumanize them so you will not feel remorse.

No one is "Pro-choice". They may be Pro-abortion or pro baby-murder though. Calling them what they truly are doesn't sound quite as nice though does it? Calling them "Pro-choice" makes them sound as if they are in favor of liberty instead of being pro-death.

Words have meaning. They convey more than simply the arrangement of their letters does. They convey ideas and messages. Both in what is said on the surface and in subtext.

In many ways we are in a war of language. Do not use the language the enemy wants you to use.

Yes, the difficulty is such language is normative. It makes the abnormal seem normal. It is untruth. Also unjust as it might incline to make these poor people think they are not on the road to hell..

    So sad.

Padraig, You can attend if there is still availability.

“Catholic marriage and family life is under attack as never before in the history of humankind,” according to the Lumen Fidei Institute. With the Dublin conference on marriage and family the group calls upon Catholics “to rise up and defend traditional Catholic marriage and family life.”

“A Conference of Catholic Families” will take place at the Ballsbridge Hotel, Dublin, Ireland from Wednesday and Thursday, August 22-23.

Tickets are 35 euros for both days, and 20 euros for each individual day.
They can be purchased at the Lumen Fidei website

  17. A Catholic Bishop Threatening Excommunication Over Immigration Policy?

    By Deal Hudson

Last week, Bishop Edward Weisenburger of Tucson called upon his fellow bishops to issue a “prophetic statement” on immigration that would support “canonical penalties for Catholics who are involved” in implementing President Trump’s immigration policy.

Why would the thought of excommunication even enter the mind of Bishop Weisenburger? Does he mean to say that any Catholic Border Patrol Agent or ICE Officers enforcing the law are “obstinately preserving in manifest grave sin”?

If so, what is the “grave sin” that meets the criterion of excommunication according to Canon 915?

The 19,500 employees of the U. S. Border Control and the 20,000 of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have the job of enforcing the law of securing our national borders. (There are approximately 20,000 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcements Officers. Of the 19,437 Border Agents, 16,605 are assigned to the Southwest Border.) None of these are responsible for our nation’s immigration laws or for the administrative policies of implementing them.

These are the same agents and officers who, under President Obama, deported a record 2.4 million immigrants between 2009 and 2016. Janet Murguia, the president of the National Council of La Raza called Obama the “Deporter-In-Chief.”

Where was the bishop’s outrage then, towards President Obama or the ICE and the Border Patrol employees enforcing his policies?

Bishop Weisenburger believes that these same employees, working under President Trump, are now in spiritual danger; canonical penalties are needed “for the salvation of those people’s souls.” It should be noted that Bishop Weisenburger mentioned other “border bishops” who shared his pastoral concern.

Imagine being a Border Patrol officer reading the paper at breakfast and learning you are targeted for “canonical penalties” just for doing your job. He asks himself, "Do I have to confess my occupation to my priest in confession?"

So much for the “who am I to judge” spirit expressed by Pope Francis.

The Bishops have already started preparation to deny President Trump a second term in office. I’m sure I'm not the only Catholic to think it unnecessary, even cruel, to threaten all the Catholics among the 39,500 federal employees of ICE and the Border Patrol with excommunication.

Some bishops justify their high dudgeon by arguing that asylum is a life issue, “an instrument to preserve the right life.” By using the term “asylum,” the bishops are trying to link immigration directly with escape from torture or persecution.

That argument digs the Bishop’s hole deeper. Let’s assume immigration actually has the status of a life issue. If so, where are the bishop’s public threats of excommunication toward all the Catholics in Congress who support abortion-on-demand and the funding of Planned Parenthood? (Only two of the 89 Catholic Democrats in Congress are pro-life.)

Let’s face it, the bishops have lost all credibility when it comes to abortion. Any attempt to connect the moral seriousness of abortion to immigration is a non-starter. The laity won’t buy it any more than they did in the 2016 election.

Bishop Weisenburger himself resides in a state where three of its Catholic members of Congress are rated 100 percent pro-abortion by Planned Parenthood (Tom O’Halleran, Raul Grijalva, and Ruben Gallego, all Democrats). Has he publicly stated any concern for the salvation of their souls?

What makes the situation all the more absurd is the fact that immigration is not a life issue the way abortion is a life issue. There is no single solution to the immigration problem — it’s a prudential matter allowing disagreement among Catholics regarding law and policy, including disagreements with the Bishops.

Many bishops have become dismissive of this point when it is raised. Newark’s Cardinal Tobin thinks those who call immigration a prudential matter are seeking to reduce its importance, concluding, “I don’t have a whole lot of time for people who reduce things to prudential judgment.”

What does the Cardinal think about the Catechism’s teaching on just war?

“The evaluation of these conditions for moral legitimacy belongs to the prudential judgment of those who have responsibility for the common good” (2309). Immigration policy is precisely that kind of issue. Abortion, however, is wrong “under any circumstance” (2258).

Cardinal Tobin has no time for such distinctions.

However, the crucial distinction is alive and well in the 2015 “Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship” — “Decisions about candidates and choices about public policies require clear commitment to moral principles, careful discernment and prudential judgments based on the values of our faith.”

The intention of using excommunication to force Catholics into line about immigration policy is demeaning. It won’t be viewed as an opportunity for spiritual healing but as punishment for being part of the Trump administration.

For decades, pro-life Catholics have begged the bishops to get tough with pro-abortion politicians. A few stepped up to the plate only to be scorned and isolated by their brother bishops (Bishop Gracida, Bishop Bruskewitz, and Cardinal Burke).

This level of hostility towards Trump, his staff, employees, and supporters is dividing even further an already divided Church. I’ve yet to hear a single bishop object to threats of excommunication over disagreements on immigration policy.

None of them, evidently, wants to disrupt the episcopal momentum towards the defeat of President Trump in 2020.

The Bishop should come clean and announce he is a Democrat first and a Catholic...well, I won't even say second.

Is it 'faithful citizenship' to give away such citizenship, thus rendering it meaningless, to all comers? It used to be known as treason.

I will have to be there.

But to be honest with all these devils from the Vatican coming in my original plan
was to take to the hills. Hear nothing. See nothing. Say nothing

Why is a tiny little Ireland getting stuck with all this?

    Sigh.

But I guess you have to do your part.

Sigh. I will have to train the dogs to attack Vaticanisita on sight.:p:)

Sigh, Pope Francis and me on the same small island. He has the whole world to annoy? Why here? Why not a big place like France or the USA or South America? Anywhere else but here. I might even be in the same city. Sigh. I feel sick already.

    Sigh.
