I think perhaps this Unity may be displayed at the Passion when the Robe of Jesus was not rent , but kept whole and plated for with lots at the foot of the Cross. Certainly it is shown in the last prayers of the Gospel of St John just before Christ's death, 'May they all be one...' May we preserve the seamless garment. Standing on Petros. The Rock.
Yesterday there were news that the CDF had rejected the German Bishops proposal to give communion to protestant spouses of catholic people but today it seems the German Bishops deny such claims. Apparently Pope Francis will receive Cardinal Marx in Rome to talk about the proposal...things don't look good. http://catholicherald.co.uk/news/20...tican-has-rejected-protestant-communion-plan/ German bishops deny that Vatican has rejected Protestant Communion plan by Staff Reporter Thursday, 19 Apr 2018 They also said that the Pope has agreed to meet Cardinal Marx in Rome Reports that the Vatican has rejected the German bishops’ guidance on Communion for Protestants are false, the Bishops’ Conference has said. Several Catholic outlets have reported claims from various sources that the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) had, with Pope Francis’s approval, rejected a draft plan to allow Protestants who are married to Catholics to receive Communion in certain circumstances. However, the German Bishops’ Conference has now issued a statement saying the reports are “false”. They added that the Pope has agreed to meet Cardinal Reinhard Marx, the conference’s president, in Rome. The German bishops voted in February to approve a draft plan to allow Protestant spouses of Catholics to receive Holy Communion after making a “serious examination of conscience” with a priest or other person with pastoral responsibilities. They must also “affirm the faith of the Catholic Church”, and wish to end “serious spiritual distress” and a “longing to satisfy hunger for the Eucharist”. A group of seven bishops led by Cardinal Rainer Woelki, the Archbishop of Cologne, dissented from the plan and asked the Vatican to rule on whether it was permissible. Austrian Catholic news site Kath.net reported on Wednesday that “well-informed Vatican sources” said the CDF had rejected the plan. National Catholic Register later said that Pope Francis had backed the CDF’s rejection, but asked for the letter not to be made public. The plan was previously criticised by several prelates, including Cardinal Gerhard Müller, former Prefect of the CDF, who said it was a “rhetorical trick”. “Neither the Pope nor we bishops can redefine the sacraments as a means of alleviating mental distress and satisfying spiritual needs,” the cardinal said. “They are effective signs of the grace of God.”
It is not dogma, but it is a sure prophecy given by saints and many credible messengers. I not only have my hopes of this event, but I am preparing for it via confession and doing my best to live in His Divine Will prior to this greatest act of God's mercy.
The Warning comes before the reign of the Antichrist, but it comes before much war and death and man-made tribulations. Many credible prophecies confirm this. This, I believe, will be God's final act of Mercy upon a Church fallen to apostasy, a world fallen to a variety of evils and a solar system out of balance. Things will be at its worse before the Warning, but much much worse afterwards if mankind does not repent.
Fatima, I share your hopes, all I'm saying is that it doesn't have the certainty of Scripture, Tradition or the Magisterium. In these three things, we already have enough Hope. God wishes all our salvation and will do all in His power to draw as many as possible towards Himself. He has even allowed Himself to be killed by us. In these terrible times, He won't be found wanting, either, however He goes about it. Certainly, there is very good reason, via such devout, credible prophesy, to believe that the Warning is very likely, but don't be discouraged if it is delayed or seems not about to happen. We're in Good Hands. [The Warning seems very appropriate in today's world that sees so many blinded and deceived by an unprecedented level of satanic propaganda that no previous generation ever had to suffer. My interpretation, for the little it's worth, is that the Warning will incontrovertibly refute this false worldly narrative, leaving people with no illusions about the choices facing them. Some, undoubtedly, will choose for evil, but they will have no option, come Final Judgement, to claim any degree of ignorance].
I do think the Warning comes before the antichrist, but I am fairly sure that we are not yet at the time of the antichrist. In approved prophecy, what we are approaching is called the "minor chastisement", not the "major chastisement" of the antichrist and the false prophet. Of course there will be nothing minor about it. It is simply given that name to delineate it from the final trial the world and the Church will be put through under antichrist's reign.
I would be interested in knowing, from those who think the AC is along ways away, what conditions the Church and the world will need to be in before the Antichrist arrives on the scene? For instance, is it assumed an even greater apostasy of faith is in the future then we are witnessing today? Will the world be in a much more vulnerable state with more powerful nuclear weapons than today? Will there be greater evils worse than abortion, sodomy, LBGTQ, fornication/co-habitation, divorce and remarriage than today? Will there be more evil people and leaders in the world than today when the AC arrives? What signs in Matthew 24, are not here today? As I see it, nothing in all of scripture, even the two cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, do not touch the level of sexual sin in the world and the Church as today. This alone, aside from the many credible messengers indicates to me that we indeed are in for the reign of the Antichrist before the 1000 year Era of Peace that Revelations speaks of prior to the end of the world.
It is certainly close to what has been described in scripture but God’s timing is not our timing. However like you I am going to frequent Confession and trying to draw ever closer to God. If it comes then it comes. If it does not come then it is not yet. As Hamlet says “the readiness is all.”
l What difference will any official response make? I can imagine the conversation "Reinhardt, old friend, give them Communion and you'll get no pushback from me. A little bread and wine won't do them any harm. Buenos Aires will need more money to support married priests......."
I have said this before, I don't believe for a minute that PF is the False Prophet, but I do believe he could be a forerunner to him with his many statements in contradiction to church teachings. If he were to die, and the world is in great tribulation, (war, economic collapse, natural disasters etc..) he has already laid much of the ground work for the False Prophet to complete.
I was reading there about the Emperor Nero, certainly the most debauched of all the Roman Emperors. He did three things that totally scandalised Rome and were considered the lowest of the low. Firstly he forced the Senators to share their wives at banquets. But nowadays wife swapping is a commonplace, Secondly he 'married' his free slave, which the Romans considered insane. But which is nowadays would not raise an eye/ Third he sung in public. That's how low we have sunk. That the worst things the Romans thought Nero did we consider, 'Normal'.
It's the same with the Nazis. We considered them monsters for having Euthanasia and killing the unborn. We do this all the time now as a matter of course. There has never been a more degenerate and evil generation since the dawn of time.
I agree, he has made the road smooth for the False Prophet. PF has made false doctrine more palatable to those who do not see what is ahead for our Holy Apostolic Church.
Pope Francis seems to waste no time in granting an audience to a Cardinal when important issues arise Reports suggest that PF is to receive Cardinal Marx in Rome (they will discuss one of the latest heterodox dodges of the German Episcopal Conference). Absolutely right and much to be commended. It is a long-standing tradition that Cardinals enjoy an automatic right of entree to the Roman Pontiff. You have the right of it. It would be naive to believe that the Thief will not come for a long time yet. It could happen at any moment.
The Nazis were honest enough not to pretend to be anything but ruthless and contemptuous of Christian morality. Nowadays, the modern evils are portrayed as the good and those who oppose it as evil 'haters'. It is horrific enough to be absolutely evil, it's an even lower level to proselytise it as the good.
