So let me see if I got that right. If you say that maybe, just maybe, climate change may not be related to "overpopulation" or carbon emissions you are demonized and called "perverse". If you perform 10,000 illegal abortions, many by using a bicycle pump you are exalted before the world and called a "forgotten great".
Well said. “Silence in the face of the suppression of unborn life makes us complicit in the crime of abortion.” Mexican bishop: ‘Silence means complicity in abortion’ A baby holds a bunch of flowers at a vigil in Trafalgar Square the day after an attack in London - REUTERS 27/03/2017 16:40 SHARE: (Vatican Radio) “Silence in the face of the suppression of unborn life makes us complicit in the crime of abortion.” That, in synthesis, is the message of the Mexican bishops in a communique sent on the national ‘Day for Life’ celebrated on 25 March, the Solemnity of the Annunciation. “Life is not a good we gave ourselves but a gift which we have received,” reads the communique signed by Bishop Francisco Javier Chavolla Ramos of Toluca and head of the Mexican Bishops’ Commission for Life. “No one may violate the integrity of another human being: neither for research purposes, nor because they are elderly, disabled, sick, unable to understand, nor a migrant.” ‘Anti-human and criminal confusion’ The bishops’ communique reads, “Today in Mexico there are many threats to family life” aimed at changing the face and dignity of life through legal means. In the current society, it reads, “the ideology of respect for animals is presented as a responsibility, while the power to bring death to an unborn child is understood as a right”. Bishop Chavolla Ramos’ statement says this “anti-human and criminal confusion is permeating the entire country, and today in Mexico thousands of unborn children are being killed.” Silence makes us complicit The communique said people “have a serious, human and societal responsibility”. It recalls the words of the Annunciation: “The words of the Angel to Mary ‘be not afraid’ remind us to defend life without fear.” “Lent is an invitation and an opportunity to correct our errors, above all the error of unhealthy silence, which makes us complicit in the crime of abortion. For this reason, may our asking forgiveness for our sins include a sincere repentance for the evil committed, as well as for the offense to Christ and the pain caused to our brothers and sisters.” http://en.radiovaticana.va/news/201...silence_means_complicity_in_abortion’/1301566
The writing was on the wall from very early on. Many of us just didn´t want to see it. Six months into his papacy, Pope Francis sent shock waves through the Roman Catholic church on Thursday with the publication of his remarks that the church had grown “obsessed” with abortion, gay marriage and contraception, and that he had chosen not to talk about those issues despite recriminations from critics. His surprising comments came in a lengthy interview in which he criticized the church for putting dogma before love, and for prioritizing moral doctrines over serving the poor and marginalized. He articulated his vision of an inclusive church, a “home for all” — which is a striking contrast with his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI, the doctrinal defender who envisioned a smaller, purer church. Francis told the interviewer, a fellow Jesuit: “It is not necessary to talk about these issues all the time. The dogmatic and moral teachings of the church are not all equivalent. The church’s pastoral ministry cannot be obsessed with the transmission of a disjointed multitude of doctrines to be imposed insistently. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/20/w...ocus-on-gays-and-abortion.html?pagewanted=all
It goes much deeper. The economies are already hollowed-out shells, ready to collapse as soon as our great-great-grand-children run out of the money we're borrowing from them. This infernal globalist global-warning scam is about absolute control. It is Marxism to the nth degree, everywhere, with nowhere available to exile oneself from it. It intends to dictate whether you are productive or ideologically compliant enough to be allowed to exist; what you can eat; how you can heat your home, if at all; your mode of transport; how your children are to be (dis)educated, if indeed one is licenced to have children; and so on. The methods about to be employed are much more discrete and 'humane', of course. A needle instead of a cold revolver barrel to the back of the neck and most subjects will be so brainwashed they will embrace all this with enthusiasm.
No no question the smoke of satan has turned into a conflagration and means to burn the Bride of Christ to the ground. It is a gauntlet of outrages we all must endure and fight and pray through with all that is in us. I confess I get weary. But I cannot afford to get weary. Where does God mean to permit this to go? I think of the movie The Passion when Our Blessed Mother watched the outrages against her Son and whispered "my Son how long will you let this go on" or words to that effect. Perhaps our beloved Church will go all the way to Calvary before it is over. Maybe that is the meaning of the Fatima vision. Maybe I won't live to see the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart but I believe I KNOW it is coming. And these weeds and tares that the enemy planted will be uprooted and burned. Dry comfort I know but this is what keeps me going. That and a desire to console the Heart of Jesus. If we feel this way what must He feel? I can hardly grasp it.
BREAKING NEWS Pope Says Church has become ‘Obsessed’ With Climate Change, Immigration and Inclusiveness: Pope Francis sent shock waves through the Roman Catholic church on today with the publication of his remarks that the church had grown “obsessed” with climate change, immigration and Inclusiveness, and that he has decided not to talk about those issues despite recriminations from critics. He has had an illumination and come to a realisation that the poorest and most marginalised of society - the unborn deserve a Pope who will be a voice for them. The 'unborn have no voice but ours' says Pope Francis. 'There is a holocaust in our midst, a silent holocaust so we have a duty to speak on behalf of a lost generation'. 'I want to be remembered as the Pope of the unborn'.
Of course it is tongue in cheek & hypothetical - there is no doubt that Pope Francis is against abortion. But wouldn't it be incredible of this became the priority of his Pontificate given his prominence - he could be like John the Baptist calling the nations to repentance over the holocaust inflicted on the unborn. He could be a real voice for the voiceless given his privileged position - so what if the world turns on him, rejects him, spits on him and even crucifies him! Such a martyrdom might one day make him the patron saint of the unborn! Future Christian generations are going to look back on this era in the same way we look at the Aztecs and other ancient civilizations that practised human sacrifice! With disgust!
I would say it is correct. Climate change is outside the Holy Father's remit as a Spiritual Father. I looked up the definition of the word , 'Perverse' and it seems to have a very wide range of meanings; but it's use in the case seems very unfortunate. As for Climate change itself I have no difficulty with agreeing that the Climate is indeed changing; it is the cause of the change were I might be ..well perverse. It seems to me the Global Warning as a notion is very convenient for the Globalists..the New World Order. At the very least it means more and more taxes and we have far, far, far too many taxes as it is. If someone for instance were to say to me that the world was flat I would never call them, 'Perverse'. For that would be uncharitable and insulting. I hope I might disagree and still be friends. I am afraid the Holy Father can be a little quick on the draw. If I am wrong I am wrong, but I hope I am not, 'Perverse'. But I have been called a lot worse things than , 'Perverse', so it is water of the ducks back.
There is a passage in Scripture you know that applies here, to too much taxes. God appointed to take charge of Israel Prophets and Judges to guide them but the people insisted on a King. God warned them that the King would enslave them and tax them stupid. 1 Samuel 8 Israel Asks for a King 8 When Samuel grew old, he appointed his sons as Israel’s leaders.a]">[a] 2 The name of his firstborn was Joel and the name of his second was Abijah, and they served at Beersheba. 3 But his sons did not follow his ways. They turned aside after dishonest gain and accepted bribes and perverted justice. 4 So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah. 5 They said to him, “You are old, and your sons do not follow your ways; now appoint a king to leadb]">[b] us, such as all the other nations have.” 6 But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord. 7 And the Lord told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. 8 As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. 9 Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.” 10 Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king. 11 He said, “This is what the king who will reign over you will claim as his rights: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots. 12 Some he will assign to be commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and others to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and still others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. 13 He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. 14 He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his attendants. 15 He will take a tenth of your grain and of your vintage and give it to his officials and attendants. 16 Your male and female servants and the best of your cattlec]">[c] and donkeys he will take for his own use. 17 He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves. 18 When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.” 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.” 21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the Lord. 22 The Lord answered, “Listen to them and give them a king.” Then Samuel said to the Israelites, “Everyone go back to your own town.”
Thank God the Church did not accept and embrace the scientific consensus of the 1970s that we faced catastrophic climate change - Global Cooling! No encyclicals then warning of climate catastrophe!!! We had encyclicals like Humanae Vitae prophetically warning us of the social chaos and rampant decline in morals that contraception would bring!
It's just irritating. But that is all it is. I am far more concerned as is Cardinal Burke and many many other Cardinals, Bishops and priests and countless lay folk about Amoris Laetitia , mind you as Cardinal Burke pointed out the situation worsens all the time; there are many other issues of Spiritual concern. But I admire cardinal Burke and Cardinal Sarah so much. So much patience! So much Wisdom! So much humility! I would not be in their shoes for a million. Prayers for them and Our Holy Father ; may God guide them all! Such difficult, difficult times.
Whatever happened to "Acid rain?" When I was a little kid going to school all I heard was "acid rain, acid rain...it's the end of mankind." Now you never hear of it. Climate is one of the most complex systems to predict. Data from much more well understood systems can still be wrong, so why can't we admit we can be wrong on this one? I have no doubt the climate is changing...because we live in a dynamic world, not a static one. There have been ice ages, tropical periods, sea levels have risen and fallen. Mankind may or may not have an effect on the environment and even if he does how much does he have? We just don't know. They know the climate is changing on Mars too, is man responsible for that?
Why is nobody, apart from Donald Trump, considering that global warming, if it exists, might be a good thing. Increased temperatures should imply greater plant growth, therefore less land area required for agriculture, therefore more surplus land for flora and fauna. Some say that such warming would lead to a reduced equator-polar temperature gradient, consequently less atmospheric activity and less storms. There might be some disruption of the beach-houses of the elites due to raised sea-levels, but they surely wouldn't object to such sacrifices in the context of the other advantages?
Acid rain was a big news item here too. Smokeless fuel seems to have put an end to that scare. Since then, we have had a mix of really good summers and really hard winters interspersed with mild winters and cold wet summers. The hot summers seemed to come when we were expecting an ice age and I don't remember having a really hot summer since the climate experts decided that global warming is the new threat to humanity.
It isn't just the elites with their beach houses who would be affected but mostly very poor people whose homes and livelihoods would be destroyed because any rise in sea levels would make low lying areas uninhabitable. I think that's part of what the climate alarmists are warning us about. I gather that it is already happening to some islands or coastal areas. Being a complete ignoramous about these matters, I don't know whether or not the plight of those poor people is a convenient example for the climate alarmists or whether those regions would have destroyed with or without our contribution to climate change. I can't help thinking of the story of King Canute when I see the Pope telling us that we can change the climate. Canute used the tide as an example to demonstrate the limits of earthly power in comparison with God's supreme power https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Canute_and_the_tide Really, mankind's love of money is our undoing. Vast areas of the earth have been destroyed by man's pursuit of riches with the poorest of the poor suffering the consequences. Maybe global warming is happening and maybe it isn't. I don't know. For all I know the earth could be a desert in a few decades or centuries or it could be covered in ice. What I can't understand is the alarmists telling us that we are causing climate change when they can't seem to settle on how much human activity is contributing to it or how much their proposed corrective measures would mitigate it. They don't appear to be claiming that human activity is its sole cause but seem to suggest that we contribute to 20% or thereabouts of CO2 emissions. If we aren't responsible for all the climate change, what is causing the rest of it and how can we know whether that cause won't increase or decrease in the future? The one cause all the alarmists appear to agree on is an increase in the world's population. Pope Francis glosses over that but his globalist friends all agree that reducing family sizes is non-negotiable part of fixing the climate. And you can be absolutely certain that the promotion of natural family planning isn't part of their solution. I wish that Pope Francis displayed a little more trust in God than he does in the likes of Paul Erhlich. Somebody needs to tell him that Mr. Erhlich isn't really the Holy Spirit come in the flesh to save mankind from ourselves. We do need to address the problem of filth in the oceans and exploitation of poorer countries. Some of those countries are rich in natural resources but don't have the means or political will to manage their resources prudently and in their people's best interests. Not enough is done to prevent greedy corporations or richer countries taking advantage of them.
Cui bono? Smokeless fuel producers and distributors! Now, it is the designers and makers of windmills and electric cars that are cleaning up, mostly with tax-payers' money. These and a whole other industry that has grown up around it. Not to mention an entire body of politicians who just love the opportunity to pose as saviours of the world.
Sea-level rise will be very gradual, affording us ample opportunity to resettle poor people in a world where land will be becoming more freely available in parallel. There is always environmental change, with accompanying advantages and disadvantages. We need to decide the best way to adapt-perhaps it might be better to embrace global warming than fight it, which might be impossible anyway. I don't see anyone pointing out that if mankind is the driver of global warming, then science itself is ultimately the culprit. If this is so, listening to scientists about finding a solution is comparable to turning to professional burglars regarding one's house security.
