I was helping to clean out my fathers appartment today. he had loads of Catholic books, may of which I have kept (including the wonderful old family bible). But the above book by Michael Brown (of 'Spirit Daily' fame} I was really DELIGHTED to find as I had been intending to buy it for the longest time and could not wait to get home to read it. Its full of the most wonderful stories, one of which I will repeat here. Chapter 13 'My Name is Michael.' I t concerns a very respected Boston priest, Father Walter M Abbot who happened to be in Washington one hot summers day visiting his orders Mother Hosue there. He was at a bus stop when he fell into a young in a white tee shirt, grey slacks and a white homburg hat. They chatted on the bus and the Father said the young man, who said his name was Michael was the smartest guy he ever met. Michael said he had been sent, by his Father to keep an eye on research work at Harvard and MIT. He invited the young man into the Mother House where he eneded up chatting with the Provincial and other heads of the Order. The end of the story was as the young man was crossing the street leaving Father Abbot he was astonished to watch the young man simply fade into thin air!! The priest is convinced he had met an angel. Why did the angel come? Well the Father thinks he was given no specific message but that it encouraged him in a great devotion to angels and he loves to spread this devotion. Me, I'mm not so sure if it was that, I have a feeling that the angel was trying to warn about this research work, whatever it is....I suppose thime will tell.
