My own personal experience with some..not all of the clergy is that many of them feel uneasy with anything to do with the supernatural or mystical. Many Dioceses for instance lack even an Exorcist. If you were to mention Fatima to many of them they would look embarrassed. On the other hand many, many clergy are very, very holy indeed. Inspirational in fact.

Nice that you were able to participate! What an honor! woe to those bishops who refused the mandate from our Lady....how sad.
Yes, It does seem to be a mixed bag Padraig. I am very sorry that even school children are not taught about Fatima and Lourdes. When I noticed this, I bought all of them a DVD on the Miracle at Fatima and the song of Bernadette. I'm sure some used it and others didn't. Sadly a lot of our catholic schools are not catholic anymore. Practically no religious teachers anymore and a lot of catholic laymen who don't know the faith themselves. It's up to the parent to teach their own kids.
She looks the same to me. Same chin, same general features. Surely if these pictured were of a fake Sister Lucia then her family would come out and say so. There is no way you could fool the family who knew her and continued to visit her.
I think Our Lady like her Son, Jesus Christ is a Sign of Contradiction. By that I mean that when you run up against her you tend to go one way or the other. Either you show yourself as one of the goats or you show yourself as one of the sheep. The good cling to her; the evil are repelled. I think that is why some people are repelled by the notion of authentic Marian Apparitions and Devotions. There has never been a Saint in the entire history of the Church who did not have a deep love for her, from the Apostles on down to the present day. 1 John 4:3 ► but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
I think this is why Russia has been chosen for a great conversion back to Catholicism. Despite all they have been through they have never lost a deep devotion to Our Lady. Even the blue band in the Russian flag is in honor of Her. How many other countries in the world have colors in their flag honoring The Mother Of God? Coincidence? I think not...
The USA flag has blue with 50 stars within it. Our Lady of Guadalupe (patroness of America) has a blue mantle loaded stars. Coincidence?
Clearly not the same person. Just look her teeth. One of left has large teeth all over the place. Right picture has straight small teeth. Even if she had braces, that would not make her teeth smaller.
Amazingly both countries started with Christian values and relied on God for all their needs. How far we have fallen from our heavenly Father's will is beyond my comprehension. Mary our heavenly mother please pray for us who have recoursed to thee, please pray that we may find sustinence and grace through your son our Lord Jesus to withstand the storm around us.
Dentures. They look like the same person to me. Here's a really interesting sermon on the third secret given by my favourite priest on the Sensus Fidelium channel. It's the last in a series of five. I'm editing this to include the fourth sermon in the series which is also about the Vatican's release of the third secret. The other sermons are also on youtube.
Could it be dentures? Just wondering. Dolours - great minds think alike. I posted without reading yours lol
We will have to agree to disagree. I am not sure if you did read the article at the link I posted. Look at all the points that the article highlights. The differences are obvious. Also her whole demeanour seemed to be very different from Sr Lucia I. I believe that where there are evil intentions, much will be done to prevent the truth from coming out. Look at these photos of the young visionary and of her when in her 30s - you can see very clearly that it is the same person. View attachment 6248 Then look at this photo representing Sister Lucy published in the March 2006 issue of Inside the Vatican. The caption reads, “Here, a rare photo of her as a young nun.” View attachment 6249 Do you think they are the same person? View attachment 6250 http://traditioninaction.org/HotTopics/g11htTwoSisterLucys_Horvat.htm
That one is difficult. Maybe she wanted to be left alone. Then again why would they use a fake Lucia. Maybe before internet it would work. Why? Oh, why?
SG, the picture you cited above where "Sr. Lucy" is wearing glasses was a misprint by the magazine. They used a picture of the wrong nun for the article they ran. I read an in depth article on it at one point.
Yes I believe those are dentures I also think that there were not two Sr lucys I think the family would have objected However I admit there are many hidden evils in the world I often think of the possibility that Pope Paul VI had a double There are photos of him that do not look like him at all While we are on the subject I think Paul McCartney is dead So I am probably not the one to ask
I generally don't get involved in conspiracy theories, they are often interesting and when the evidence is shown in a certain light they can appear quite convincing. I looked over a lot of this information in detail a couple of years ago so I am familiar with it. I would just say this: To say there was a fake "Sister Lucy" would generally mean that the real Sister Lucy was murdered (by the Vatican no less) or died of natural circumstances and for some reason the Vatican wanted to keep her around so they stuck someone else in her place. Logic would then dictate we ask the question why? If the end goal was to stop her from talking wouldn't that end be reached easier if she was dead? If they wanted her silenced and she had died of natural causes this would solve a lot of their problems. There would be no reason I can think of to do perpetrate this hoax. It is risky in the extreme and there seems to be no gain. She was and is one of the most beloved Church figures in modern times. If it ever came to light that the Vatican murdered her or stuck a "fake" in her place after she died it would totally destroy their credibility. The scandal would be enormous. Also if this was true it would not only entail her entire cloister keep it a secret, but also her family and every visitor who saw her both before and after the "switch". Secrets like this are not easy to keep. I would think that Occam's razor would apply here. The simplest explanation is usually the correct one. It is more likely that Sister Lucy got old, got dentures and generally aged than to say there was a massive Vatican cover up of a switching of Sister Lucy for a fake that achieved no discernible gain, yet was worth risking the entire Church's reputation and the potential scandal that would have driven away countless millions of souls.
Getting old and getting dentures does not change the shape of one's face, one's nose, the thickness of one's lips, the presence or absence of a prominent philtrum etc. I still think there are too many differences to brush off as being due to aging. As to there being no discernible gain - the whole saga behind the failure to reveal the third secret of Fatima is incomprehensible to faithful Catholics who would never dare to go against the instructions of the Mother of God herself, as the Popes seem to have dared to do. As Pope Paul VI said: "through some crack, the smoke of Satan has entered the Church".
