Julia, do you not think you girls should get your own house in order before you throw stones...80% of divorce proceedings initiated by women driven by 90% of settlements favouring women, prostitution, abortion, the lies of feminism. (It does not get much more diabolic than ordained lesbian bishops.) Women know how vulnerable men are to their wares. Do they not share the responsibility for matters of sexual discipline? Is it not evident that today for many women prosperity is more important than purity and power more important than providence.
"And I find woman more bitter than death, she is a snare, her heart is a net and her arms are chains. The man who is pleasing to God eludes her but the sinner is captured by her. ....one man in a thousand I may find, but a woman better than other women, never." Not my words. Ecclesiastes 7:26 Can't live with them, can't live without them. But I say better to try to live with them than settle for bromide. Poor old Eccles he must have had a bad experience. I think women are wonderful but how easy it is for women to mock men these days. How easy it is for them to escape criticism. How easy to usurp the power of men in their vaulting ambition and make it their own....with the same and worse results of abuse of that power. We are all equal in the sight of God. Let's keep that in sight.

What a nasty comment, Aloysius. Did you read it back to yourself before posting ? Julia was making no such accusations against men. You have overreacted big-time.

My policy is still wait and see. Apart form the Pope being the Pope we anyone the basic charity of not making false assumptions.

I am afraid I have lost all faith in media reports of the synod. One turkey after another. Flocks and flocks of turkeys.

    Better wait and see.

I am very saddened by this.

Of course Ecclesiates was before the greatest woman all time was born. The very Seat of Wisdom. I did not over react. I responded to what I considered was yet another put down for men. You will need us in the days ahead. Julia herself says the ills of the world are caused because the tools of procreation are mis used by men. How can you say this is not an accusation against men? I make no apology for my comment. The synod consists of men. The apostles were all men. There has been grave concern over the feminisation of the church. As I said, women are wonderful, but in my opinion you are no better than men. To say that men cannot control themselves suggests otherwise and ignores the controls that women exploit over the weakness of man. We do the same. But at least we admit it. If a man had commented on this forum that women's sex drive - or any other drive- should be controlled by drugs how would you have felt?Feminism has supported some of the greatest evils of the modern world..contraception, divorce and abortion. And often men are too weak to stand up to the demands - and accusations - of women. In militant feminism are to be found all the elements that undermine the traditional values of marriage and the family. Even the men of Synod will not tackle this head on. Quite wisely. One of my old friends when asked how his marriage had lasted 60 years replied "I've learned to walk around her."

Defensive and reactionary. Factually fallacious as well. I'll pray for you. You have been hurt by women, clearly.

Thank you FS, I in no way was trying to promote desecration of the Holy Eucharist.

Joe, can you go back and read my post again. If it is unclear I will edit or delete it. I in no way am in favor of desecrating the Holy Eucharist. The point I was attempting to make was that if they decentralize the Church and let local bishops congregations decide if they will let civilly divorced and remarried receive the Holy Eucharist, then many will. You then wind up with a broken Church AND a desecrated Holy Eucharist. If it were up to me I would allow reception of Communion only immediately after confession as the Orthodox do to protect it as much as possible from the possibility of desecration by being received unworthily.

"For better, for worse" not for bromide. Why on earth are you saddened? We are worth the effort, the struggle. Why bring bromide into it? Julia did. Not me. Your sadness is misdirected. Do you not think I was well aware I would be attacked for standing up for men? In his book "Not guilty - in defense of the modern man." David Thomas was warned by feminists he would be crucified if he got his facts wrong. Nothing changes except that now even if the facts are right they crucify men. Here in New Zealand we have the third highest rate of suicude in the developed world. 75% are male. How does this help family values? The leading researchers for the committee on euthanasia are women. They did not declare their membership of the Voluntary Euthanasia Society. Now that this is known they have been confirmed in their positions. We all have to take resposibility for ourselves, not just men, in our attitudes to money, sex and power. These elements are the tools that the devil uses to dismantle marriage and the family. Not a girl boy fight , Fallen Saint. Don't be so patronising. It does relate to Synod. But you are right, enough on this spat.

There has been a lot of talk in the synod the past few days by some synod fathers that we need to let people follow their consciences and decide what they feel is right, whether they be active homosexuals, divorced and remarried, whatever. Here is Cardinal Arinze with some good old fashioned African Catholic logic.

The Africa saved the Holy Family once, let's hope it can save them again.

Thanks Praetorian. I know you are not advocating desecration of the Eucharist. I just thought it strange how you expressed your preference. For me I would prefer the Church to be broken than to give less importance to the Eucharist. I see your point more clearly now.

Julia Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

Aloysius, there are no hard feelings from Julia at all. Sorry for ranting and not saying take into account all these Synod decisions will be made by men.

Women are as accountable for lack of self discipline as men, of course.

I think if the Synod had Aloysius and Julia in combat, they would hear in no uncertain terms just what has gone down in society in recent years. No holds barred. LOL

For what it is worth. The sort of things I posted were put in my form that the Diocese asked us to complete. I wonder if mine got to Pope Francis.

Thanks Julia. How's life in the Royal County. I am sure that in Synod Julia and Aloysius would talk in plain terms and nut out the issues that really matter. I often find that when I discuss matters of contention with others, if the motivation is right, a point of consensus is reached eventually even if we have to go all around the houses to get there. Often that point involves a clearer inderstanding of the other. We don't have to agree just to be agreeable, at least in the end. Aloysius has no hard feelings whatsoever against Julia. Why should he? Julia's ok. As she says all the decisions of Synod are being made by men so we know who to blame if things go haywire. Maybe these men will be open to The Holy Spirit. People all over the world are praying the rosary every day that The Holy Spirit will guide the Holy Father. The God of surprises my surprise us yet. Don't know why but it struck me Julia is about the same vintage as Conchita. Aloysius is a wee bit younger ;) I hope we all live to see the Great Miracle.
