Right. And every "joint Catholic and ___ declaration of faith" which is published just serves, imho, to lead other Christians to feel that the similarities are great enough and the feelings charitable enough, that everyone's basically ok where they are. Which, of course, is never the intention. The intention is to bring souls in, and that's great. But Protestants and the Orthodox tend to see it as "Oh, cool, look, Rome agrees with us! Great! So, we're good, then! Look how much we have in common!" Nice thought, but councils and anathemas tend to spell things out clearer and better, imho. Heck, they worked for 1,950 years, no?
