Mac, I hope your wife is feeling better. The moment of the Resurrection, so, science agrees. Show this to doubters. See the quote at 1:25 of this video report on the 2011 Italian Study of the Shroud: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/20/shroud-of-turin-jesus-burial-cloth-authentic_n_1161363.html "In case there were any doubt about the preternatural degree of energy needed to make such distinct marks, the report spells out: This degree of power cannot be reproduced by any normal UV source to date."
I'd rather say the Shroud shows the corpus before the resurrection with closed eyes but vibrant in a special way. Please compare the Volto Santo from Manoppello with open eyes and we have a "photo" just after the resurrection having defeated death. Actually the tomb was not empty but filled with plenty of evidence (shroud, volto santo, sudarium, holy coif of Cahors, napkin of Kornelimuenster) fulfilling the scriptures. John 20, 8 Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.
New Study: The Shroud of Turin and the Sudarium of Oviedo Covered the Same Person - See more at: http://aleteia.org/2016/04/11/new-s...he-same-person/#sthash.9fnnuAcy.Zr7gXOX3.dpuf
similar biometric studies confirmed with very high likelihood the identity of shroud and volto Santo that is the same person with open and closed eyes. BTW a 1:1 replica of the shroud is on permanent display in S Croce in Jerusalemme in Rome.
a graphical illustration of the relation between Shroud and sudarium is given in the Icons of the Myrrbearers: View attachment 4788 The position of the veil (Volto Santo) is depicted in this icon (rather rare type) View attachment 4789
Juan Manuel Miñarro is a scientist but is also an astounding artist -sculptor and university professor. This is how he has translated into sculptures some of his scientific work. Very inspiring and devotional! https://shroudstory.com/2014/12/30/the-awesome-shroud-based-art-of-juan-manuel-miarro-lopez/ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/pic...res-of-the-day-21-February-2012.html?image=13
Behold ... —so marred was his appearance, beyond human semblance, and his form beyond that of mortals— Is 52:13 ... he was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the punishment that made us whole, and by his bruises we are healed...
