Did Pepsi end up using Sweetmyx other than a trial run in their MUG root beer?

I remember boycotting all Pepsi products and brands (such as Taco Bell, Arby's etc ) until they discontinued their relationship with the company who developed Sweetmyx for them. They did end that relationship so I stopped boycotting. But now I find out Pepsi still owns the rights to Sweetmyx and used it in Mug Rootbeer for a time.

Sweetmyx was tested using fetal cells. Much like many of the vaccines it doesn't contain fetal cells but they developed/tested the product using the cells.

I can't find any info about the use of Sweetmyx in today's products. For all we know it is in our tacos and roast beef sandwiches....they would likely only list "artificial sweeteners"


Anyone have updated info?

 

I don't have any more info but it just brings home to me the necessity of local sourcing of food and growing our own vegetables and sad to say avoiding chain restaurants perhaps. Pepsi and all big companies have their fingers in many pies. I read that " other natural ingredients" in the ingredient list could mean something like sweetmyx. Its a scary world out there.
