Thanks for the faithful in Malta celebrating Holy Week pictures!

I was touched by my Pastor who so clearly preached that there is only one complete Liturgy for this long weekend. It begins with Holy Thursday and the washing of feet, but notice there is no final blessing, no "The Mass has ended, go in peace"... the remaining Hosts are brought forward into the Good Friday services- readings, intercessions, veneration of the Cross, Holy Communion from the previous night's Holy Mass, but no Eucharistic prayer/or Consecration. Easter vigil is a long Sacred Liturgy with many, many readings, the lighting of the Candle, the First Eucharistic Prayer, the ringing of the joyful bell and the singing once more of Alleluia's! And to finish it: The Mass has ended, go in peace!

Three days: one Holy Mass!

 

Ever notice how the battle has always been about God's Will vs. everyone else trying to force theirs? Even to trying to kill God on the Cross. Pure Love vs. absolute madness.

I had never heard of this before. But last night I woke up with the most incredible feeling of desolation. It was as though my soul had shrivelled up inside me and was crying out. This was totally unlike me. But when I woke up this morning I was as usual very,very happy, at peace, fresh as a daisy and raring to go.
The strangest thing.

 

I think things ratchet up during the Triduum. I've certainly felt it.

 

Perhaps because Mass ceases throughout the world until the celebration of the Resurrection?

 

Yes. I never thought of that. But you are right. It makes perfect sense.
