Lots of books if they are over 50 years from print date are considered public domain, so there are no copyrights. And with technology, we have POD, which means print on demand. In other words, you can print one book at a time as ordered. This saves paper so you don't have to do a large run and perhaps not sell them. If this is the case there would not be a letter in the front, or, imprimatur. My book has not arrived yet, it's been delayed until Monday. I am 'guessing' this is the scenario . . .
Curious. Why would you say that the letter in the front of the book and the imprimatur would not be included in a print on demand book? Thanks!
Ok, my book came today. I am pretty sure it is a print on demand book. The printing quality is very poor, has 438 pages, some blank. Pages are not formatted professionally. I don't know what the original book looks like, this one is 4"x6"x1". But it does have a bar code/isbn number that could have been reproduced from an original with a date on the back of September 8, 1996. There were two websites referenced on the back, so I looked them up, one of them takes me to a German website, the other one to an English website. On the website there was mention about other books being published, the feeling is that it is good to get the messages out. It states, "-Important Message……….. please note We are aware that others have printed the book, their motivation is between them and the Blessed Mother; we try and see the positive side of such situations because we have proved to be inadequate (so far) in disseminating the Blessed Mother’s message. We are open to all reasonable and modern ways of making the Blessed Mother’s message available (without a profit motive), such developments are necessary we believe and perhaps inevitable. Were not policing the situation with copyright and legal constrains, rather we wish to encourage those committed to helping the Blessed Mother in reaching Her children with Her message in a way that She would like this to be done. We would love to hear from such people and help support one another fullfil the Blessed Mother’s mission."
I got mine, too, which I purchased through Amazon. I agree with Katfalls' analysis of the situation. FWIW, mine was printed on my 21st wedding anniversary last week and delivered to my home on Divine Mercy Sunday. I took those little "God-incidences" as proof of authenticity!
Thanks for sharing this Katfallls, and Booklady too. Even though the printing quality may not be up to speed, their message is encouraging.
I have been reading my Little Blue Book for a week. I like it. That’s all I can think of to say. It’s a peaceful blessing. Thank you, Padraig.
I didn't really believe in it at first. I do now. It is indeed very gentle and peaceful. But it does require Faith.
