I woke this morning to an article in our local paper (which usually has nothing to say about anything) regarding the Pope's decision not to try a priest for molesting 200 deaf boys in Wisconsin. The molestations were probably in the 70's and the decision was mid-90's. It's getting worse. My heart is so heavy as at this attack from Satan through hurt people. Last week I passed a bracelet of pictures of Mary through a therapist to her client who is actively being attacked by Satanists. I found myself saying something to the effect that the woman need only focus on Mary as her mother. I was afraid of what images of Catholocism would bring her in terms of flashbacks of ritual abuse and how the current scandel would make her feel. It was a hard thing to hear myself say. God forgive me if I was wrong- but I suspect the Holy Spirit was guiding me in the moment so I think I did OK. Prayers for the wounded who are being used so horribly by Satan to bring down our beautiful Church Family. Pray for the Pope. I fear greatly for his coming pain. Although we say the Rosary and know that we will be OK, I think its probably true that we can equally say that our pope will not be spared great pain through this. I'm sad for him. I worry that since Russia is less than 2% religious that the consecration was not accepted by the poeple themselves. I pray for Russia everyday- hoping the lessen the damage they may someday do to Europe and the world in general. On another note of the coming events- we are losing even more bee colonies due to this past harsh winter as well as the mites and pesticides. Pray pray pray, and love, Kath
The Pope is being unfairly targeted by the Media. I heard the Rev Vincent Twomey on Radio 5 Live and he defended the Pope's record and had the interviewer tongue-tied because the media had mis reported the Pope's role in the abuse cases. He won the debate easy because the Pope did nothing wrong. The presenter hesitated in her questioning because she couldn't cope with his excellent answers. The Media is trying its best to tarnish the Pope by association.
Doesn't it feel like the secular media are desperately rooting for something to implicate the Holy father? I have never seen things this bad in all my time. Sorry to hear about that Kathleen, but I think you gave a very prudent response. It's not always easy to speak in such situations but you did well.
Padraig, I'm sure this is true of other cities and towns, and at this time, clergy (and seminarians) are getting it tough. Nothing is more effective however than prayer, and that is I think the best we can do in a situation like this.
I am more and more convinced that what we are going through is a prelude to the Schism, especially the attacks on the Holy Father. None of this is an accident but has all been planned and orchestrated in secret places I can't help noticing that many clergy are joining the attacks, suggesting we need a 'Pure Church', reformed. I am currently reading the book 'The Fourth Secret of Fatima' by acclaimed Italian journalist, who is a friend of Pope Benedicts, Antonio Socci. He produces testimony of still living witnesses to prove that the 3rd secret of Fatima has not been fully revealed. I picked up the following response from Duke to a querist on his site 'Atheists and Satanists will dominate Europe during the course of World War III. They will come to Italy as soldiers and revolutionists. I believe Pope Benedict will soon reveal half of the Third Secret of Fatima, that which relates to a Church Dogma. He will leave to his successor the other half.' The more i read in this book the more believeable I find Duke. Sr Luciy did say the 1984 consecration was accepted this is not the same as saying that it was completed as requested by heaven. Mary
I think so many Catholic visionaries have predicted the fall of Rome to hostile powers and the murder of the Pope that its hard to keep track of them all. I think with so many saints, yes and even at least one Pope predicting this, its really impossible not to believe that this, of the Fall of Rome, is a true prophesy. My own personal belief is that the Fall of Rome to the enemy will presage the Eternal Cities final destruction. Here, for instance, are Saint Malachy's remarks concerning the last Pope 'Peter the Roman'; Malachy's final words: In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock among many tribulations; after which the seven-hilled city (Rome, the seat of the Vatican) will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. cf In 1909, while granting an audience, pope Saint Pius X leaned back and closed his eyes. Suddenly he "awoke" and cried out: "What I see is terrifying. Will it be myself? Will it be my successor? What is certain is that the pope will quit Rome, and in leaving the Vatican, he will have to walk over the dead bodies of his priests."
The question of whether or not the consecration of Russia was done successfully can be easily determined by its fruits. Within a relatively short space of time, the old communist soviet union collapsed, which allowed more democratic politics in Russia, which gave more freedom to religion. Thus it is clear that the consecration was effective. To say that Popes and such have these things shrouded in secrecy is the domain of sedevacantists and conspiracists. We must trust in the truth, that Sr Lucia was satisfied with it (remember she lived until 2005) and that there is no such cover-up going on. I do not believe that it would be God's will that such a thing, which was explicitly requested by Our Lady herself, could have been wrapped in secrecy, and under numerous Popes to boot. The Holy See assures us that the secret was released in its entirety. So did Sr. Lucia. We must trust them, otherwise, we give way to an endless possibility of conspiracy theories.
I agree with Sean that we know all there is to know about the third secret, [which by the way is still in the future!] Let us not forget that our Lady at Medjurorje said that her apparitions there are a fulfilment of Fatima and there are an additional 10 secrets to be revealed. Medjugorje is the fulfillment of all Marian apparitions and the last appearance of our Lady on earth in a tangible way. Thus will end the Marian Age of Church history. However, through Medjugorje she is and will be elevated to a new platform of Mediatrix, Advocate and co-Redemptrix so wont need to appear on earth again.
In the Marian tradition of spirituality there is a tradition, going right back to scripture of things being kept secret, or hidden; for instance at the Presentation Simeon and Anna talking about Christ to Our Lady and Joseph. By 'secret' I do not mean in an occultic , arcane sense. It is, rather like a seed planted in our Hearts until the time comes for its fruition. It is , in a way like a truth planted in our hearts until the proper time when it suddenly sprouts and shows itself as a mighty tree. These 'secrets'...and the tradition of Marian apparitions are just full of them......are I believe mystic seeds and as such we in a real way are in a continous process of trying to understand them as we try to grapple through all Eternity to understand the Mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary and of Scripture. Like little eggs of the Holy Spirit hatching constantly in our Hearts, the seeds of God planted by Mary herself. So, in a real way we can never ever say we understand them; just that we are in the process of understanding them. I think even this forum is a Secret of Mary...think about it. Small and hidden. This is no accident.
I think you should read this book 'The Fourth Secret' to really understand the politics that have gone on. We have no signed document fro Sr Lucy saying that the consecration as requested by Our Lady was completed as requested. Sr Lucy was effectively silenced after 1960 as was Padre Pio. She was constantly writing to The Hoy Father but these letters have not been released. As for the fruits It is true that the consecration as performed By all the various Popes did win graces that have given more time but the conversion of Russia has not happened and will not until Russia is consecrated by The Pope in union with the Bishops. Pope John Paul is on record as saying that it was all he could achieve concretely at that time. He could not get agreement from many many bishops. Russia was not specifically consecrated by him.1960 The year picked for the publishing of 3rd secret was the start of the Council. Pope John xxiii did believe that this would reform the church but the fruits of that time have been very bitter. I am convinced that the requests of Our Lady have not been complied with. Why did Jesus say to Sr Lucy ' Since my ministers copy the King of France they will follow him into misfortune' I am praying to consecration to the Immaculate Heart every day for my family. Mary

Woah, I am brand new today to this forum and just finally got through this long thread. So much information, so much controversy...I am in no position to comment on any of it. I do, however, like the last entry of padraig, with a Good Friday message and beautiful photo...it inspired me to post one of mine...taken last week by me in Medjugorje. May everyone have a solumn, blessed, Good Friday, without a warning (I did hope it would come today also, but God chooses otherwise, doesn't he?). May Mary bless us with her motherly blessing, and may Mirjana have a good day of prayer and contemplation today, though I know that the apparitions are hard on her. It was a good message today for us - and it is the final fast day of this Lenten season, and I am findiing it very hard to keep it today...I am being tempted no doubt, because of the fact that the warning did not happen and so Satan thinks he can slip in and throw some doubt into my head...or my stomach as it feels upset and is making me think of stopping my fast today. I think I will go to bed and say my first day of the Divine Mercy Novena, which I haven't done yet, and tell him to just get thee behind me!!! :wink: Happy Easter everyone!
