AidanK, I wondered this also but I have read many prophecies about these two figures and several appear to clearly state that they are two separate individuals. Although, I recently have wondered if the Great Monarch could be Christ himself not returning in his glorified body at this time but since many prophecies speak of a renewal of Faith during the time of the Holy Pope, Christ will return in a spiritual sense at this time and possibly effect many leaders in a positive way. It's just an idea. The following books contain many prophecies about the Great Monarch and the Holy Pope (Angelic Pastor or New Pope): http://ia802602.us.archive.org/6/items/CatholicProphecy/CatholicProphecy.pdf http://ia800200.us.archive.org/2/items/TheProphetsAndOurTimes/TheProphetsAndOurTimes.pdf
Thank you for those links Carol. I just read pages 49-51 of Prophets and Our Times. One thing that stands out greatly is the current Monarch in France. He is of course of the Bourbon line.
It seems to me that there will have to be something different about a kingship for it to stand the test against the evils of these days and rise up in the hearts of people while holding in the Kings heart the Love of Christ. After all many kings erected false idols and temples in the days of the time before Christ. God even asked the Jews through the prophets why they would insist on kings who they would later complain about. I wonder what would be different this time about a new/old monarchy arising in the heart of Europe?
Don, The fear of God will be renewed. Our Lord will be respected one again as he should be by the vast majority of people in the world. This is the only way that I can envision this occurring. I think the fear of the end will be the vehicle for this to occur, most people fear death more than they fear God and I'm sad to say myself included at times.
Quite honestly, I can only see this occurring in our day with a chastisement which would be unmistakable to even the most base and hedonistic people. It would have to be absolutely terrible and horrible for this to happen because that is what we are dealing with in so many people these days. May God have mercy on us all.
The Act of Succession in the UK has been repealed meaning it's now possible for a Catholic to be crowned. What if ....?
Are you sure? I've been searching the news reports and I'm finding nothing about this. At the very least, the Beeb (BBC) should be mentioning it, but nothing.
I think that Aidan could be confused about the changes introduced in 2011 which proposed lifting the ban on a reigning or future monarch marrying a Catholic. Here's how then-Prime Minister Cameron explained it: "On scrapping the ban on future monarchs marrying Roman Catholics, Mr Cameron said: "Let me be clear, the monarch must be in communion with the Church of England because he or she is the head of that Church. But it is simply wrong they should be denied the chance to marry a Catholic if they wish to do so. After all, they are already quite free to marry someone of any other faith." http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-15492607
Perhaps this is indeed what I'm thinking ok. However it does pose the possibility that a future monarch might be Catholic at heart due to a parents influence
Nobody knows what the future holds. Note that Cameron said "in Communion with the Church of England". I have heard some pundits say that "Defender of the Faith" should be changed to "Defender of Faiths" to take account of the decline of Anglicanism and the rise of other religions in the UK. Ironic, really, when you consider that it was the Pope who conferred the Defender of the Faith honour on Henry V111.
Not to get too deep into the whole thing, but God did promise Abraham to make Kings of his descendants, and Joan of Arc does indicate that the French Royal family has Davidic Ancestry.
Who are the French Royal family, would that be the Bourbon family who I think are in Spain these days?
Now we are getting deep. I’ll try to stay on the surface. We can be certain that Charles VII was a legitimate heir.
Carol 55 said: I would like more information about the future Great Monarch and Holy Pope from all of you. I found a website which discusses many people who prophesized about them but many of them are unapproved. So therefore, I want to take a poll and see who believes in this prophecy and if you could kindly explain why. I do realize that we do not have to believe in prophecies even if they are approved by the church but I would like to hear your opinions on this. Thank you in advance. PS- One last request, if you could point to prophecies which discuss the timing of the Great Monarch in relation to the anti-Christ I would greatly appreciate it. A few of us were discussing the Ages of the Church on another thread and it was stated that the 6th age would be that of the Great Monarch and Holy Pope, and the 7th age would be that of the anti-Christ. I want to do more reading about this. Thank you again. One very interesting piece of info re: the Great Monarch and the Holy Pope that I've run across and which perhaps is common knowledge to all following this thread - is: The Great Catholic Monarch (strong ruler) rises up taking back Europe in the late 2030s. The Holy Pope with a sign of redemption on his forehead will reign in 2038 and afterwards. To keep this simple, at face value - those claims could also be realized as very possibly connecting to AntiChrist! Since we're ultimately concerned with Salvation, and since we're not strictly bound to believe any "private revelations" and since false 'seers' have popped up now and then thus fooling many, and since I keep tabs on actual events in the world which in some manner can connect with God's Scriptural Prophesy, I approach any and all visionary 'messages' with great caution and scrutiny. That said, it remains my opinion that this very decade shall indeed present to us more visible 'signs' - in the figurative sense - that Global realities shall point more and more to the imminency of the coming AntiChrist (followed by Jesus).. That said, more my concern of for instance, knowing dates, IS the part of our lives which count the most - and that is: Being AWAKE and READY, TODAY! I never presume for any reason that I am fully ready.. Therefore, I keep working on becoming 'better' in the manner that God wants us to do.. READY? ... AWAKE? Do we presume we are? .. Or do we actually seek perfection? ... These three paragraphs give some Understanding.. 36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. 42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. 45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. +
I'm not sure. I already see signs of the end. I think such prophecies put people in false sense of security, that the end will come, just not now. We also have to consider why we want it to be true. I'm of the opinion that since Adam fell we are not in the real world. There is no purpose to be in this world other than to save our own souls and the souls of others. That is, there is no purpose for this world without God. Now many just want a long and happy life, maybe a family, some kids, relative prosperity. As though these things the world teaches us are answers to the meaning of life. Some religions, for example, teach reincarnation, where we keep being reborn to experience different lives, as though the purpose of life is to enjoy yourself. But I am of the opinion that as soon as God saves the last soul He can this world will come to an abrupt end. We aren't here to enjoy ourselves or make the world a better place. That can only happen when Christ says so. That is the real world where we can relax and enjoy ourselves. Satan tries to fool us into forgetting we have fallen from paradise and that everything will go on for a long time--stop waiting and kick back and relax! We are still waiting for the immanent return of Christ.
