A little food for thought on a movie made 20 years ago that you all might find interesting. At least today there are a great many people identifying and exposing these things thanks to the internet but the damage is done.
I am a baby boomer, but never liked the 60's much. Some music, yes, but the sex, drugs, and rock and roll, left me feeling cold and empty. I lost freindsto it, some died, others, well, sort of went crazy. However, the baby boomers were created by the older generation who owned the record compaines, as well as the record producers. They made money over all of this, and teenagers go along with it. The press had a very big role to playi in this. Now it happened becasuse there was and undercurrent of truth about the culture, though often very over stated. Cultures grow old, become decadent, and eventually die. Perhaps we are there at this time. We christians, long ago, alowed ourselves to be absorebed by the cultlural narritative that went against our faith, but did nothing. In fact, most just went to church on sunday, but there faith had little effect on their lives. There is some truth (but overstated) about whitness. If your were black, thlings were rough in the south, and christians went along with it, in fact participated in it. If our faith can't raise us up above common predespostions towards others races and religions, then it becomes another cultural problem. That being said, the 40's and 50's had a lot to offer, sorry to see what was good from the era is now lost. We do live in interesting times, we need prayer for sure, lots of it. Peace Mark
