I don't know, but her description of The Warning seems accurate; also she is right about division in the USA.

There are so many visionaries now it seems impossible to keep up with them all, so I kind of listen to just a few very sure ongoing ones. like Ann the Lay Apostle, Mark Mallett and Medugorje.

It's always possible false ones are drawing true messages from the true ones and also putting out false ones of their own at the same time. It would make your head ache trying to keep up with them all. :roll:

But of the whole world and out of all time, if I had just one place to pick it would most certainly be Medugorje....and I would be perfectly happy with just the one, for it is the summation of all that has gone before. It teaches all that needs taught and is my great alarm bell for what is to come.

I always pay close attention to what Mary says there. If it was the only place it would be enough and more than enough, it is perfect.

But I think sometimes people who follow sites like Medugorje and other places are wrong in this:

they say, 'Our Lady comes to Maedugorje, or Betania, or Akita. or where ever and she cannot come anywhere else, it is all fasle...', so they betray jealousy or personal ownership for a particular site. But, in fact Our Lady is appearing everywhere all across the globe, for she is mother to all. So they should not be jealous but open....

Yes, Mary is certainly appearing in many places...calling all of her children back to God. But Padraig is right, no one has time to keep up with them all. And some of course are false. I had read pretty much the entire website of "Words from Jesus" several years ago. Overall, the messages seem credible and the description of the warning seemed reasonable to me too. The only red flag I saw was a message said that George W. Bush would be assassinated while in office. When this did not happen, I stopped reading the messages. Of course we know prayer can change anything, so perhaps people prayed but this can be said whenever a visionary is wrong as well. Interesting however, that she received the message about division in the US. I don't think many false visionaries would state this, since it seems so unlikely right now.

What do people here think about "places of refuge" that some visionaries speak of? I cant imagine there will be any, as I think the good will suffer with the bad.

 

You know , 'Places of Refuge', are a really interesting subjct, Potato Sack.' I have thought and read and prayed lot about this and am inclined to be a little dubious about them.

Why? Well in the major apparition sites, focunsing especially on the major Church approved sites Our Lady has never referred, no not even once to setting up , 'Places of Refuge' . Also in Medugorje (which is of course not Church approved , at least not yet}, although Our Blessed Lady has been speaking since 1981 in literally thousands of messages to the faithful, as far as I know Our Lady has not mentioned Places of Refuge, no not even once. Now if it were necessary that we set up such places and we did not do so and she failed to warn us she would be a bit like a Mother her did not strap her children in a seat belt when she knew there was, for a fact going to be a collision. So she would be negligent, even criminally negligent in failing to issue such instructions, such needed warnings.

On the other hand here in Ireland the two major supposed visionaries who place very considerable emphasis on the need to set up , 'Houses of Prayer', (places of Refuge) Christina Gallagher and the two Patricks well to be honest I can no longer really put credence in their supposed messages.

It is in the smae in other places which refer to the need to set up such refuges there is a degree of sensationalism of panic of ..well of a bit like being a Celestial News Channel .

On the other hand ,when we look at Church Approved Sites like Kibeho in Rwhanda. Our Lady showed the visionaries the terrible holocaust that was to happen before it occured. But if ever anywhere there would ahve been a need for , 'Refuges' it would have eben there. But she did not do so. On the contrary the remedy she prescribed was spiritual, that the Faithful should trun to fadting, prayer, the sacraments, not attempts at building such 'Refuges'.

However, on the other hand I think God intends us all, especially those with common sense to use it . For myself I have been trying to make a few little preparation like living a simpler lifestyle and not owing so much, growing a little food. Perhaps those with families might wish to do a little more. It is something to pray about and think about, for spouses to talk about.

I think the very great model in all this is Saint Joseph, especially in the Flight to Egypt. One thing you notice about Saint Joseph was there always seemed to be an angel at hand whenever he needed it to counsel and warn him.

For myself I imitate Saint Joseph by looking to the Queen of Angels, the Queen of Peace who is coming at present to Medugorje and if she tells me to get my butt in gear I will be moving into high gear as quickly as I can..... :lol: :lol:

But I have no family and am single, so I suppose its more easy for me to take a led back attitude. I think its something for us , like Mary to store in our hearts and pray about.

But I do distrust sites and people that gravely warn of the need for physical preparations. I think Mary is asking for primarily spiritual preparations, fasting and prayer at this time.

This may change later as times become more urgent, but for now...

 

I think that certain holy places will be places of refuge...such as the places where the Virgin has appeared, and perhaps other places of spiritual significance in the past, and maybe even some new places where people gather and simply ask for God's protection. Will they be places where we will not suffer? Maybe not completely, but they will be places where healings, both spiritual and physical, will occur, and I think they will be places of relative "safety". I pray that God will intervene at these places so that people there will be protected from physical harm, as He did with Medjugorje during the wars over there. I believe these refuges will be the cause of more great conversions, both for those who are there, and for those who see what is happening in these places, even if they cannot get to one themselves. I think everyone should perhaps make a plan, and pick some possible places to go should things get particularly bad.
As an example, I myself would love to head to Medjugorje, so that is at the top of my list, but if that is not possible, then Emmitsburg PA is another possibility. Closer yet to us, only a 5 hour drive, is Rome, Indiana, or of course Notre Dame University, where we feel God's presence also very strongly - especially at the Grotto and the Basilica. Now, if we can't get anywhere far at all, then we will just go to one of the local churches, perhaps the one with the Mary shrine and the Adoration chapel would be the best...it also has a lot of room to accomidate a lot of people. And if we can't even get to there, then we will stay here in our home, where there is holy water, and crucifixes, and rosaries - and welcome in others, and hope for the best... :|

 

Oh, Padraig, we were writing at the same time! LOL I like what you have said too, that Mary has not told us to set up refuges...well, I think this is because that is what she is doing by simply appearing! I also do not believe we need to set up or build anything new or do anything different, except simply to "know" places that have already been chosen by Mary or by God as special, or holy, or as you said in another discussion, places where you yourself "feel" the presence of God. Pay attention to what is available to you. I honestly think you cannot go wrong doing that. My son, living in New Mexico, also knows of some natural refuges in the mountain areas where the natives would gather should there ever be a disaster of some kind. So some of those places are in his plan. I think the key is to HAVE a plan, of what you could do or where you could go with what is already available to you. Ask other holy people where they would go...there's a good idea to get started. If others notice that you have it together, then if something big happens, people may be asking you where they should go! :shock:

 

I hate to say it- because I wish someone else would take the time to do it for me and allow me to just join them when its time- but I think we will be the "places" of refuge. If you look at what happened to the priests during WWII in Japan and the Sister who was preserved in Wisconsin from a fire storm - they were safe because they prayed the Rosary. We just need to have faith that Jesus will watch over us individually and support us as we need it. Others will naturally flock to us because we will know what to do and give direction-pray pray pray and teach them how. If they follow, they will learn what we have and this will grow in small pockets around the world.

I think you are right to seek out Holy Water and other religious items to gather up or seek sites that already have them, like our own houses.

Thanks for your inputs guys, on places of refuge. If a visionary speaks a lot about places of refuge, I tend to discount them a bit. Especially if they say your guardian angel will take you to a safe place of refuge and you will be in this completely safe place while the tribulation takes place and others are suffering in the chaos. Although, I had never thought of Joseph being guided to safe places as he had to flee to keep Jesus safe. So, I'm sure our guardian angels will be guiding us to a large degree, but I don't think it will literally be to a place where we can completely avoid the chaos and suffering.

Certainly people will be flocking to those who have been following Medjugorje and beginning to spiritually prepare. I think a major role of ours will be to guide others and learn how to trust in God's providence for food and shelter. However, one sure place of refuge is under the protection of Our Lady and her Immaculate Heart. That is one of the reasons I've consecrated myself and my family to Her protection...although of course my family does not know that yet!

 

Every family should have one as you to guide their way.

Yes, I think by the time the tribulations occur, everyone will know of someone who will help guide them. Whether it's someone in your family, circle of friends, at work, or in the neighborhood, people will have guidance. I believe that is why Our Mother has been appearing in so many places, to so many people, and for so long...she needs worldwide coverage!! As for me being someone who guides...it has taken so, so long for me to get to the spiritual place I am now. God knows I am a terrible procrastinator...I guess that's why He introduced me to Medjugorje about 16 years ago!! It's only now I'm pulling it all together with the 5 stones...my unconditional "yes" took many years...and still now at times I pull my "yes" back...I stumble and fall often, as I am so sinful, but if we accept the graces being offered in these times...anyone can do it and be "that one" for our friends and family!! I just pray for the continued grace to continue on my conversion path and presume everything else will fall into place.

 

Me too! Every once in awhile I think "Really? REALLY? ME? I can't remember my own phone number. How do you expect me to get this stuff straight and pass it on to others?" Then I calm down and remember that Moses really hated to talk in front of crowds, so what am I worried about? I'm going to rely on the Holy Spirit to do the job when it comes time.

Prayer life is a struggle sometimes. I'm off and on so regularly that when I read the other posts, I wondered if anybody else had dark nights on a weekly basis.

Yeah, I've had a few of those too. I try not to focus on those :roll: Can't take them back and can't do them over. With that I have to trust God's forgiveness.
My years of trouble have made me very empathetic to others so in the end they served such a purpose in my life. I thank God for them and his honing. So, in a way I've made progress- I'm down to dark days and dark moments. That makes me a bit hopeful actually.

I think if I can just avoid any future dark years and keep to struggling day to day, I'll get part of the way there and Mary will drag me the rest of the way.
Thank God for our lives and how he hones us. We'll appreciate heaven when we get there. :lol:

But someone, a friend of mine a Judge in the USA sent me link to this video. The reason why I post it is that altough it is very political it throws light on the current situation i nthat Nation and is in and of itself a SIgn of the Times. It reflects on the fulfilment of the Icons I mentioned here:

That brought tears to my eyes!

 

The words that have come to me this week regarding the USA were as follows 'America has been the restrainer'.

What I take from this is that for the 20th century America has been the restraining force for good in the world and as a superpower their influence has been for the positive in world affairs for example restraining the forces of rampant Communism throughout the world. God used America to prevent the evil of political communism from dominating the world. However, due to sin/impurity/unbelief etc, within the USA [& propagated by means of mass-communicaton] God is going to allow America to collapse and therefore the restrainer will be gone and chaos will ensue. The time of Grace will have ended and the Justice of God will have begun.

[Please discern as this is speculative based on my reading of prophecy but I may well be completely wrong!]

There is a huge economic, social and political collapse coming and this will begin in America [the economic chastisement has already begun]. Padraig has posted about this in his icons on the USA. The coming collapse of America falls within divine providence but America will no longer be the restrainer and the consequences of that will be very, very severe for the world.

There are at least five hotspots that could erupt when America has imploded & America will no longer be the restrainer. God will allow man to punish man in the first part of the tribulation [not all of these regions may erupt into conflict but each has the potential to do so and at Fatima our Lady prophecised that 'various nations will be annihilated - this has yet to happen].

Firstly, Venezuela - Maria Esperanza the mystic once prophecised that 'events would begin in her home country Venezuela' - it may well be that there will be conflict in the Americas and Chavez may well take advantage of American weakness in the region and attack, war breaking out.

Russia will be encoraged by the advances of her ally Venezuela - she will reclaim her former satellites in Eastern Europe through invasion and will extend her influence well into Europe - nuclear weapons may well be used [Medjugorje will be affected but may be given divine protection?]. * It could be that the Warning will occur during this phase when Russia has over-run much of Europe. Russia is explicitly mentioned in the Fatima prophecies so she has a major role to play within divine providence even though it may well be a destructive one.

The Middle East will also erupt into a huge conflagration - Israel vs Iran again nuclear exchange spilling over in the region into a nasty conflict with millions of casualties. God will not allow Isreal to be crushed as in future times the Jews will convert to Christianity.

Then there is North Korea who could attack and invade the South also using nuclear weapons, again the region erupting into violence. The Chinese may or may not be involved here.

Pakistan may fall to militant Isalam and as they have nuclear weapons they might attack India, again millions of deaths. They will also take Afghanistan as the US/UK forces will have been withdrawn by then.

The first part of the Chastisment is man-made as God allows man the freedom to destroy himself but the Warning may well come to prevent man from completely destroying the world.

But the damage will be so great and the conflicts may well have so poweful as to have disturbed nature itself perhaps even the axis of the earth and certainly the tectonic plates may have shifted - so the second part of the Tribulation will be natural events on a hugh scale - earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis and a part of comet will hit the earth 'and fire will fall from the sky' [Akita] wiping out a third of humanity.

The third part of the Tribualtion will come directly from God and is known as the '3 days of darkness', the final Chastisement' for after this will come the era of peace and the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary - there will be no cities left nor the means of communication we have today - people will live communally and farm, Christian communities serving God and God will bless the world once more.

So I see the Chastisement as falling into 3 parts and these could begin with the sudden collase of the US economy:
1. Man made wars [with consequent disasters/famine etc]
2. Natural disasters as the first will have somehow unbalanced the earth and tectonic plates.
3. Chastisment directly from heaven - God using the angels as the sword-bearers of Justice during '3 days of darkness'.

This is followed by the great era of peace.

 

Yes Bobby we are going to get everything, up to and including the kitchen sink thrown at us.

It reminds me of the final loud voice I heard speaking in a dream a few months ago, 'The Earth itself will rise against them'.

 

Thank you for posting that youtube Padraig. It is an accurate statement on what is beginning to boil over here. Unfortunately the people in the video opposing the president's policies (tea party members), are now labled as racist, angry, bigoted predomately white people by the media. The media is so arrogant and liberal here it is unbelievable. I don't want to get too political either (so please let me know if my post crosses a line), but unfortunately it seems this administration has a pivotal role in the events described in the icons. Obama continues to push policies that Americans do not want. But what really gave me a pit in my stomach are his statements that America is not a Christian nation...that people in small towns cling to their guns and religion and fear others not like them out of bitterness...and recently he ommitted the statement that our rights are given to us by our creator when quoting the constitution. These types of statements let us know what he really thinks. People are starting to wake up, although slowly here in the northeast. I was wondering what Europeans and others think of Obama? In general negative or positive...someone good for America or not? If you did not read this forum, would you be aware of the growing division in the US? I'm just curious and hope it's not too political a question.

Garabandal - I agree with your idea that the world will go into chaos once the US has a civil war. That is the first thing I thought of when reading the icons. When the biggest kid on the block who normally keeps the peace is distracted, other countries will react. I believe these countries will include Russia invading Europe, Iran/Israel war, and North Korea and China doing something. Venezuala and Cuba too. I'm not sure how islamic terrorists will play into it all. I also believe nuclear weapons will be used. I'm not sure when the warning will take place in relation to all this. But the more chaos there is, the harder it will be to announce the warning and other Medjugorje secrets.

It will be interesting for sure. What happens in the November US elections may give us insight into the timing for the icons to start.

 

I woud say generally Obama is idolized hwew in Europw. His idea of the State having all encopassing poers to intervene un the lives of its citizens is a very European one. I would be very surpirsed if he does not draw his ideas from European political idealogues.

Even quite devout Catholic here would like him. This might sound strange to American Catholics but here very,very few politicians would, say oppose abortion except in a few isolated countries such as Ireland. What you call, 'The values war' was lost in Europe, perhaps as long ago as the French Revolution in 1789, so nothing Obama would say or do would shock or alarm most people.

Its sad but true that if all chickens have two heads you will consider two headed chickens as normal.

To them Obama would just seem to have good sound European ideas which they would think of as , 'Progressive and Liberal'.

I took an instant dislike to Obama as I was aware of his pro-death abortion beliefs. My father was so excited when he was elected as the first black President but when I told him od his pro-abortion position he was horrified. Anyone who supports abortion is anti-Christ.
