I heard a great celestial sign in the sky is going to happen, far greater than a few minutes of the sun being darkened. It is so great, and its symbolism so clear that everyone should realize that God exists and loves us. At some point the sky will be darkened and after 12 hours of darkness the sun will shine again. It will be called night....and day! The signs of God's love are all around us all the time. I have a new grandchild. The flowers are starting to bloom after a long winter. We should praise God and have faith! I ask God to forgive me that I have, like Thomas, desired any "proof " by a sign, warning or miracle when I have indeed seen so very many, and indeed am surrounded by His love.
That’s where I am being attacked the most… family. My children are turning away from the faith and mom seems to be targeted. Things that seem to come out of no where….this has intensified a lot. Learning to have silence as my strength and prayer…… but not easy.
I felt the graces from DM Sunday too. I’m also really pleased to learn from Padraig that I earned an indulgence as well. My spiritual life had grown a bit flabby and with this power-up from God I deleted the game on my tablet which had beeen a time waster and got back to the Divine Office and the rosary. Christ is risen! Plus we are watching The Chosen which is so far rather good. The agnostic husband is also enjoying it.
The graces from Divine Mercy healed some wounds in my family yesterday too. It seems there was a common theme of healing and forgiveness yesterday.
When I went to confession I felt urged to confess to my unkindness and unloving attitude from time to time. When we look at our family we tend to see the problems that we are unhappy about. I think now I must look at a the good that is there and thank God for all of that and for the gift of each person in our lives. A teaspoon of honey will catch more flies than a barrel of vinegar and it changes our attitude. We must become light to all around us. If we truly trust in God's mercy all will be well and we will have joy.
Many schools are closed. Work is a skeleton crew today. My call center area (I work nearby from home), and our headquarters a few states over, are both in the zone of totallity, so a lot of people took the entire day off. I'm regretting taking only an hour because their work load falls on me. The client volume is slower than usual though, so that helps. Co-workers in the city said the parks are charging $100 for people to park their cars. I live at the edge of a small town and everything is quiet. We have parks where anyone can park for free and lots of empty back roads. I'm not expecting to observe anything supernaturally out-of-the-ordinary today. Regardless, it's pretty cool to see the sun blotted out.
If we had no one to forgive we could never be forgiven. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those ... Forgivenessis our entry ticket to heaven. Without it there is no getting in.
