The Conclave

From what is known about the election, the votes were initially "scattered", which means that the liberal and conservative currents probably tried to push their candidates through.

Cardinal, now pope Prevost seems to have been elected as a kind of ideological middle ground. In some matters, he went in the same direction as Pope Francis, emphasizing the environment, migrants... while on the other hand, he has a lot of conservative things and obviously holds on to tradition. A compromise was made and they found a middle ground. Obviously, we will have to see over time where his papacy will lead, in what direction. What I was glad to see were the tears in his eyes when he came to the balcony and saw the bought people. This is an indication to me that he is aware of his role and responsibility entrusted to him primarily by God himself. I would not be at all surprised if many liberal cardinals turn their backs on him over time if he does not turn out to be a reformer who will shake the foundations of the Church. My impression is that he will be a good pope.

What I find interesting is that Parolin tried to project that image within the College of Cardinals, but it didn’t work out very well. Between the habemus papam and the announcement of the elected cardinal's name, I held my breath for about five seconds. :D:D

    Thanks Andy.

But my apologies to everyone here, I was way out of line yesterday. I’ve been fighting against the errors of Bergoglio so long, I’m seeing monsters behind every rock and tree. I should have refrained from saying anything.

    And there are good signs:

    Ok here another interesting post:

    upload_2025-5-9_14-2-39.png

Then Il Giornale reports today Cardinal Dolan as the “kingmaker”. At a key point during the conclave (probably Thursday morning) he would have steered all of the North and South American electors, plus other commonwealth cardinals to vote for Prevost. Parolin was number 1 up to then and the “bergoglians” were divided between French Jean-Marc Aveline and the maltese Mario Grech.

I could see Cardinal Burke and Dolan working together on this (totally speculating here), to get ahead of the game to have someone elected that is a “moderate”, a compromise candidate, better than Parolin (another moderate), who does not seem to be liked by a lot of the cardinals, maybe because of his China deal.

No two ways about it, Pope Leo likes his Latin.

A few days ago, I mentioned that Dolan would be the kingmaker this time. However, I thought he would rally votes for the Swedish Carmelite, Anders Arborelius. That said, the latter disappeared from the general congregations before the conclave and withdrew to his monastery, which may have led the cardinals to believe he would not accept. Dolan himself said that Arborelius would be an option in case of a deadlock. Well, if the man is happier as a contemplative monk—considering he had expressed the desire to return to the monastery once the former pope accepted his resignation—may the new pope grant his wish, if that is God's will.

Amazing. How did he fly right under the devil's nose? The smug smirks all over the liberal cardinals' faces when Pope Leo XIV was revealed reminds me of how the devil thought he'd won when he killed Christ. God is the Master Chessplayer.

I don't think you were out of line at all. You brought out a lot of stuff that needed to be known. I think a cautious guarded approach is good while simultaneously acknowledging the good. If we get our hopes up too high initially we might be setting ourselves up for them to be dashed later. I think your input yesterday helped with that.

I truly hope his first acts are to vacate everything PF did to eliminate the TLM, go back to PBXVI’s Summorum status quo, but then advance the status of the TLM globally also.

Anyone who truly loves the TLM also understands that traditional orthodox moral and systematic theology goes hand in hand with the embrace of the Traditional Latin Mass. There’s no room for the new world order’s gender confusion and grossly immoral agenda there, or the blatantly demonic population control reality that hides behind all that infertile sodomitic propaganda.

I truly hope this pope will fulfill the desires for the restoration of both the TLM and Catholic orthodoxy worldwide. And very quickly.

The saying that "after a fat pope always comes a thin one "was fulfilled literally this time. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::D

That was one of the first things I noticed about him, haha! I was watching with my kids, and I said, "Oh look, he's thin and healthy! That's a sign of good self-discipline!"

I think Brian was absolutely correct. Circumstances dictate caution. These matters are very grave and we're not by any means sure we're out of the woods, yet. Let us bear in mind that Brian was expressing his reservations among a small intimate group who have been discussing these issues for years, and in great, respectful detail. This is not the same as those who have been prematurely alarmist on public forums viewed by huge numbers of people, many unaware of the nuances and contexts that have been analysed to death on this forum. We recently had the reading about St Thomas. He expressed natural reservations about the Most High and Christ did not condemn him. All the more do we need questions asked about sinful men.

So, something I heard on the news. Prevost was elected Pope because the Vatican is 1 billion in debt. And not being able to pay for pensions. They are hoping the American can bring in money since the US is the wealthiest country. And Trump just stopped funding to the Bishops. Perhaps they need to rally the US for funds. Everyone else in the world is broke. Could be about money??

In fact, according to the Peruvian journalist Pedro Salinas, Cardinal Arborelius was the consensus candidate of Opus Dei and other conservative forces, so my guess came very close. But let's admit that the fact he was born exactly on the 267th day of 1949 seemed very suggestive in the context of the current conclave. At the very least, this led me to learn more about him in recent years, and his entire journey of conversion from Lutheranism to the Church through Saint Thérèse, along with his catecheses on contemplative prayer amidst secularist Sweden, fascinates me.

I’m getting confirmation today that some of my cautions I expressed here yesterday were not unfounded, by individuals who would know.

There may be some loosening of the current TLM limitations. That may be a sincere gesture. It may also be a ruse.

    Be vigilant. Trust but verify.

Do not be swayed by what is said going forward, but by what is concretely done and whether it is orthodox.

And “personnel is policy” still applies.

This is hilarious if true. I go to church and every mass there is a collection. On top of this the church often asks for extra donations for other stuff like the seminary and archdiocese expenses. Every mass they get money and they have been doing this for two thousand years. The church owns loads of stuff like land and has incredible investments. Not to mention all the fundraising booths set up as you walk out of the church after mass. It often seems like all the church does is try to open wallets. By this time the church should virtually own everything, and yet there is a debt? Incredulous! How much of our Catholic inheritance did the cabal squander and steal? Probably spent on advancing communism too.

This would explain Trump's Pope meme that he tweeted and so much more. Now that it is likely that Trump is in charge, I cannot imagine what skeletons are going to be revealed.

For a very long time US diocese gave generously to Rome and were always more or less treated like 2d class citizens. ( Malachi Martin goes into this in his novels) The zcuria of Cardinals may very well be hoping for some financial support. Sadly the Vatican finances are very "smokey" Poor Cardinal Pell did his due diligence and when he presented his findings he suddenly found himself under attack Australian authorities. Ugly stuff.
