The Church as we know it....

The Church as we know it is about to end. It is about to undergo the greatest purification of its over 2,000 years. THis cleansing will involve a schism in which a large false Church, the friend of the powerful and the world, will come to pre eminence and the One True Catholic Church will be a small and Faithful remnant. Everyone's hand will be turned against her, every public voice will deride and mock her and the Holy Father shall be forced to flee Rome before it's destruction.

But after this long Good Friday in which it shall appear even to the Faithful that Christ's Church has died upon a new Cross, the Church shall experience a Second Easter and a new Pentecost with the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and a new rebirth.

Stay Faithful. That which was shall be no more, but what is to come shall surpass it's parent. Christ's Church shall rise again; its foundations once again the blood of it's faithful people.

    Matthew 16

[18] And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. [19] And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven.

What stirred this response Padraig? A current dream? Vision? What exactly stirred you to say this? Do you have a sense of when this will start?

what do you mean in the sentence above Padraig? Do you think something will happen this Good Friday? What do you mean by it being long?

Pope Benedict has predicted that soon the Church will be smaller and purer. I believe that the new Pope will be Mary's own and will be unwilling to compromise in any way with those who do not honour Her nor obey the Magisterium. This will result in a great schism with a large number of 'Catholics', lay, religious and ordained, forming an anti-Church which will accommodate itself to the world and will ordain women, allow priests to marry, allow lay people to 'celebrate' at the altar, recognise non-Catholic communion as being as efficacious as the Mass and even offer spurious blessings to 'same sex unions'. Approximately a quarter of Irish priests belong to the Association of 'Catholic' Priests that seems to have all the above on their 'shopping list', similar organisations exist in the US and Australia having substantial memberships. Many of the German and Austrian priests are in open rebellion and are disobeying the Church's rules and do so with impunity. It's going to be messy.

SteveD, I agree with Cardinal Ratzinger's statement that the Church will get smaller. I believe it will get smaller for two reasons. First is like you said, that many, if not most, will not listen to the new Pope and his Magisterium. Second reason the Church get's smaller is because governments will not stand for the clear voice of the Pope, especially on his bold stance on gay marriage, abortion, contraception and essentially all life issues. The governements will lift the tax exempt status of Churches that do not go along with their anti-life agenda. This will be the beginning of the Church persecution, which will continue till the era of peace.

  6. ERA OF PEACE?? I thought the popes throughout the centuries have condemned this as heresy? Or have I got it wrong.... again!

A period of peace, following the triumph of the Immaculate Heart, was foretold by Our Lady at Fatima according to Lucia and I have never heard of anyone saying that this is against the teaching of the Church. A period is not indefinite and a new falling away prior to the coming of the Anti-Christ will occur.

  8. have a look at "END TIMES, era of peace, Millenarism" thread (post 22)

Done that. Our Lady has been quite specific that a period of peace will follow the triumph of Her Immaculate Heart. If you dispute that, you dispute Fatima. JPII and Pope Benedict have been to Fatima so presumably they don't.

They can fight it out with Our Lady. She said it, I believe it. This prophecy had NOTHING to do with the millenial beliefs of some about the end times.

    Hearsay?
    Doesn't it make it confusing?o_O
This era of peace is a good question.
The Blessed Virgin did tell us this at Fatima. :) So it is true.

But what is the era of peace, the 1000 years?

At the expense of sounding like I'm pushing my opinion here. I'm not.
But I want to throw it out there to see if anyone thinks this makes any sense......

Jesus told St Faustina, when He comes in His Divine mercy at the time of illumination of conscience. For those that recognise His coming, can enter the new life where there is no pain.
Now, I'm not too sure, but I do wonder, is this the era of peace?

Some one out there know Church doctrine better than me, and probably knows the words of the saints better than me.

Does anyone else think this could be possible?

MEDJUGORJE SUN HEART RESEMBLES DIVINE MERCY IMAGE

This photo, taken by the Italian Medjugorje pilgrim Federica M in 2010, has literally captured the heart of professional photographer Daniel Miot, the best of his kind on the Medjugorje scene.

Seeking to educate people a bit on photography, and to separate the wheat from the chaff among the many claimed-to-be-miraculous Medjugorje photos, Danielhas published his technical guidelines on the subject.

This photo he recognizes as "beautiful", with the remark that the red and blue rays emaniting from each side of the heart-shaped sun resembles the iconic Divine Mercy image given to St. Faustina Kowalska.

I love that someone is saying it. That is what I assumed the end result would be of the circular argument going on in that End Times thread. I have tried to get said author to explain himself without having to buy the book, at least on reconciling the legalistic interpretation of "Popes only speak" with the era of peace, Divine Mercy's Day of Mercy/King of Mercy, and other approved private revelation prophecies.

Apparently, infallability has now reached every word, ever uttered, even before popes become popes....
