With all due respect, MMM, might this not be considered a mission which included preaching?

    Mark 6:
7 And he called to him the twelve, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits. 8 He charged them to take nothing for their journey except a staff; no bread, no bag, no money in their belts; 9 but to wear sandals and not put on two tunics. 10 And he said to them, “Where you enter a house, stay there until you leave the place. 11 And if any place will not receive you and they refuse to hear you, when you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet for a testimony against them.” 12 So they went out and preached that men should repent. 13 And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick and healed them.

However, your concerns about Mary's depiction are definitely valid.

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

Sorry, Sam. I did not notice you had responded with the relevant Scriptures. You were quicker on the draw than I!:LOL:

Yes, this series started off ok, as a Catholic-Protestant co-operation (Roumie being Catholic, Jenkins Prot), but it has rapidly devolved into something poor at best. The more I think about it, the more a perfectly Catholic Series would be much better, starting with a much more reverent depiction of the Blessed Virgin Mary. They deliberately play off the Blessed Mother as someone allegedly ordinary, whereas making peripheral figures like Matthew and Mary Magdalene allegedly more important than Her. I bet a Catholic Series based on the Gospels, the Mystical City of God of Ven. Mary of Agreda, and the Poem of the Man God, of which St. Padre Pio said - "I order you to read it" - would be much better. Still, God work through this, but disappointing.

A good tree cannot bear bad fruit and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Has there been any bad fruit in this show? Yes.
