There are a number of other Signs I think that might rule out a person for going forward for the Priesthood or the religious life I think. Not having a Devotion to Our Lady would be one I think. Not having a Hunger for the Eucharist would be another. Not having a real and deepening prayer life would be another and so on. Better one good priests than a thousand lukewarm priests. The Church is not a buisness or political party. Dead Wood won't do it.
From my experience, what is keeping priests in the church today, in my world, is their desire to spread social justice as the height of the church reach mission. The Eucharist is not the center of homilies and the result of this is empty churches throughout the day where God waits.
I think if your Heart is not on Fire with the love of God, that Fire of the Love of God it will not spread to others. If I happen to see a priest praying in Front of the Blessed Sacrament I am always reassured and think to myself, 'That is a good Priest'. Such a little thing; but a sure Sign.
You know events are moving very fast in the Church and the World. The milk is turning sour and putrid appallingly quickly. Being a lukewarm Catholic just won't cut it. We need to have a living, vibrant, Personl Faith in Jesus Christ as Our Lord and Saviour ; reflected in a deep prayer life. Anything else just won't cut it. Just so you know. It's Christ's Way or the Highway. It's Purification time. The Dross, the Lukewarm are getting dumped. Big time. The Way of Light or the Dark Path. One or the Other.
You know people need really , really to do a Spiritual double check at the moment. It's make or break time.
I am fortunate to have one of those Priests at my Parish. You can find him early every morning praying before the Blessed Sacrament. It's a beautiful sight to behold.
Agreed. But my point was, why are these people fixating on personal (their) sexuality? They shouldn't be. True celibacy means sacrificing sexuality for the sake of Christ - physical AND mental.
