Make time to watch this (if you haven't already), it is fascinating and worth the effort. It will enhance your Christmas and your faith.
Thanks Steve, ...watching from about 49.04, there is another celestial miracle! And very touching, you hear the love and zeal in Rick Larson's voice, cool!
If you don't have time to watch all of this video, you can omit the background and start at around 30 minutes in for 'the meat'. The website is www.bethlehemstar.com and not .net as I think is said on the video. The video also convincingly gives the date of the crucifixion as 3 Apl 33. Don't forget to pass this on, unbelievers will watch this sort of solid science about religious matters especially on this subject at this time of year. View attachment 1578
I can't remember the exact timeline but it seems the conception takes place in September so the birth would have been around May or June. Did I understand this right? I went to the website but I couldn't find the timeline. God Bless!
Prof. Larson believes that Jesus was born in June of 2 BC but that the Magi found him on December 25 of 2BC (when the Great Star appeared). He is assuming that when the constellations aligned to coincide with that described in Apocalypse (The Virgin giving birth to a King with a dragon - Herod - waiting to devour Him) that this indicates the date of Jesus' conception being in Sept of 3BC.
Wow, I love this video. Its also very interesting how right now the king planet and the king star, Jupiter and Regulus are again in close alignment and comet Lovejoy has just passed through them. Maybe this happens a lot i'm no expert but its interesting and encouraging. I believe comet Lovejoy is expected to circle the sun on December 25th or around then. http://earthsky.org/space/use-binoculars-to-catch-comet-lovejoy-near-beehive-star-cluster I wonder if there are Magi these days to talk to..
I hope that it's OK to give this a 'bump' occasionally until Christmas, if you pass this on it might persuade some lapsed/agnostic/atheist somewhere, at this season of the year, to reconsider their position. Please consider passing this on.
What a great pity. Unfortunately I don't have a copy. Try the website for information/discussion; www.bethlehemstar.com
From http://spaceweather.com/ Not sure what it may or may not mean but found it interesting and related to this post. CHRISTMAS CONJUNCTION: According to some scholars, the Star of Bethlehem might have been a close encounter between Venus and Jupiter. The two brightest planets in the night sky, merged, would have made a spectacle of Biblical proportions. This Christmas, NASA's STEREO-B probe is observing a conjunction of three planets--Venus, Earth and Jupiter: Unlike conjunctions of the distant past, this one includes our home planet. STEREO-B is located on the far side of the sun where it can look back and see Earth along with other worlds in the Solar System. Only NASA's twin STEREO probes, equipped with their high dynamic-range Heliospheric Imagers, can witness this kind of conjunction. From STEREO-B's point of view, Earth and Jupiter are less than 0.5 degrees apart, while all three planets fit in a circle 3 degrees in diameter. This meeting is not nearly as tight as the putative Star of Bethlehem conjunction ~2000 years ago. At that time Venus and Jupiter could have been as little as 6 arcseconds (0.00166 degrees) apart. Nevertheless, the ongoing conjunction is still a beauty. Stay tuned for updates as the three planets converge.
The star was a 'miracle' rather than natural occurence ,according to the saints it seems, as I found in this article[i had never seen this photo before]...http://newtheologicalmovement.blogspot.co.nz/2011/05/fatimas-miracle-of-sun-star-of.html
Oh, we have to be very careful on this/every subject. We have to seem like we say yes even though our dogma says no, it is called pastoral. Don't tell them what we really believe but make them feel good first. Is this what V2 really was all about, duh? Is this what the truth is really all about? Confused catholic. There are so many of us.
