Ahhhh Hope lovely. Ahh well off to mass, I must wear something green.

I did climl Croagh Padraig Jimmy though not on Paddy's Day and not in my bear feet. I was nearly eaten alive by by the midgies (small flying insects} which are like buzz saws.

THere is a little tiny oratory at the top were they mass everydayu. THe roughest ,simplest little place of prayer I ever saw.

THere is a legend St Padriag fought the devil up there:)

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. My family and I are walking in our local parade with the pro-life group from the area carrying yellow balloons, and its strange but I feel like we are doing something mildly controversial. Shows how secularised this great Catholic feast has become in Ireland.

Happy Saint Patrick's day everyone. Enjoy the day and, if I could make a request, say a prayer to him to help Ireland - especially now with abortion at the door.

  9. Celebrating ST Patrick
Today is the feast of St Patrick it's a day to give thanks to God for the gift of our faith and got the example of so many women and men who have been lights in the darkness for us, who have brought the faith to the ends of the Earth, and who continue to inspire us by their example. Today we can be proud of our great Christian heritage. But it is also an opportunity for each of us to reaffirm our commitment to The Lord and his kingdom
Today we don't just give thanks for our Christian past. We pray also for a Christian future. Happy Feast
I thought I would share this it was from my Parish Bulletin

I have climbed Croagh Patrick and broke my toe! Here I was this 30 something climbing barely breathing and having to stop every 1-2 step the closer we got to the top. There was this grey haired older gentleman at least in his mid 50's if not older who sailed right past us and was already eating at a cafe when we just made our way down. And we started way before this man! It was truly beautiful and there is a chapel at the top.

    Happy St. Patrick's Day!

    God Bless!

World goes green for St Patrick's Day

    Sunday, March 17, 2013 - 11:43 AM
Some of Earth’s most famous sights – including the Pyramids of Egypt and Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer statue – will be lit up green today.

The Sydney Opera House, Niagara Falls, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Burj al Arab in Dubai, Table Mountain in South Africa, New York’s Empire State Building and Berlin’s TV Tower will be among others to pay tribute to Ireland with emerald lighting.

It is hoped the celebration will remind people from all over the world of Ireland’s appeal in a bid to boost future visitor numbers.
