I would like your opinion. Through February 28 (1 yr of covid-19 statistics), I'd like to compare two States: Pennsylvania and South Dakota. The statistics are from Worldometers. Where would you prefer to live? Pennsylvania State Population 12,802,000 Number of Cases 936,175 Number of Deaths 24,116 Deaths/million 1884 Deaths/thousand 1.88 Imposed Restrictions (travel, masking, lockdowns, etc) high South Dakota State Population 884,700 Number of Cases 112,427 Number of Deaths 1,888 Deaths/million 2,134 Deaths/thousand 2.13 Imposed Restrictions (travel, masking, lockdowns, etc) virtually none Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!
Hmmmmm...Red State or Swing State housing corrupt “City of Brotherly Love”? I don’t know. That’s a hard one.
I won't take that experimental gene therapy short of being tied down, kicking and screaming! I did come across this prayer in case that actually happens...
United Kingdom Coronavirus Cases: 4,182,009 Deaths: 122,953 Recovered: 2,959,884 Full, Draconian Lock down, the worst figures in Europe Sweden Coronavirus Cases: 657,309 Deaths: 12,826 Recovered: N/A No Lock Down. The best figures in Europe.
I think when a State does well (Like Florida or Sweden) by not introducing Lock Down they get attacked by other countries/States and the media for having done so. Because having succeeded so well without a Lock Down they serve as a standing rebuke to those who did. It's a kind of jealousy.
That's nothing we have been bombarded here with constant adverts.. No getting away from it even a simple walk around a shopping centre had you losing your marbles as the tanoy repeated the same message.. The only thing missing was a Halloween ghostly scream stay at home Here's one of the examples
I dare not even play this for fear of unlocking anxiety! I guess I know my limits. So devilish. I’d be saying, “Vade retro satana!”
I think the key is that Sweden, etc. still encouraged/required social distancing. BUT ... by not locking down, they prevented locking up the one carrier in the family/apartment/building with all the as-yet-uninfected people. People could get out and get fresh air, which does strengthen a person's immune system.
It would be interesting reading the history books in 50 years time. Reading about all the lies we have been told by Governments.
The media used Covid and its fallout to hurt Trump. It was said Covid was the best thing to happen to Biden. It sure didn’t hurt him...he’s sitting in the Oval Office now isn’t he. Corrupt MSM. Amazing how Covid just made a U turn....right! Ohhh, let’s not forget that they used this crisis this first month of his presidency to pass a outrageous bill to fund Covid and every other left wing wish list item that has nothing to do with Covid. Finally some bishops are criticizing this....well what did you think Biden was going to do? Seriously....you bishops are surprised by this evil in the budget funding ? I’m not buying it.The time to speak out was before the election... But then the gov was lining your pockets too with Covid funds...big time. This won’t age well, but I’m sure they don’t really care. How many Catholics even know the money they pulled in. Sickening, just sickening.
It’s political...they demonstrate that they had success without federal restrictions. They voted republican...therefore, Biden will try to punish Florida. That’s how the democrats roll.
Socialist systems tend to have a God complex. To some extent they imagine themselves as God , being able to fix anything (including with Global Warming theory) even the weather itself). It makes them very, very hard to deal with. (Imagine a work colleague who had a God Complex how hard would that be?). It reminds me of what GK Chesterton said, 'Those who do not believe in God will have Government as their God!'
Compare these two statement for instance, which to prefer? They each say the same thing but one of them says it with a delightful force. It reminds me of what Jesus said, 'Let your yes be yes and your no be no!' To which I would add let your yes be an unmistakable forceful yes and your no be an unmistakable forceful no. https://spiritdaily.org/blog/news/benedict-calls-biden-observant-catholic [From the original article in Corriere Della Sera: “On Biden, the second Catholic president after John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Ratzinger expresses some reservations on a religious level . “It’s true, he’s Catholic and observant. And personally he is against abortion, ”he observes. “But as president, he tends to present himself in continuity with the line of the Democratic Party … And on gender politics we have not yet fully understood what his position is”, he whispers, giving voice to the mistrust and hostility of a large part of the US episcopate towards Biden and his party, considered too liberal.] Now compare this to this: https://www.breitbart.com/politics/...aggressively-anti-catholic-president-history/ Priest: Joe Biden Is ‘Most Aggressively Anti-Catholic President in History’ 17,880 ANGELA WEISS/AFP via Getty Images Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D.27 Feb 20214,934 3:40 Joe Biden is the “most aggressively anti-Catholic President in history” despite his outward show of piety, Virginia priest and director of Human Life International, Father Jerry Pokorsky, states. “For most of his political life — from his consistent pro-abortion record to his officiating at a gay wedding in 2016 — despite his Catholic affiliation and public pious practices, Joe Biden has magnified and institutionalized countless major violations of the Ten Commandments,” Father Pokorsky writes in an essay Friday. “The hypocrisy rivals that of the chief priests and Pharisees and is worthy of the same condemnation,” the priest declares. “Indeed, Biden is the most aggressively anti-Catholic President in history.” The reason for the harsh assessment of Biden’s record is the dichotomy between his outward show of piety on the one hand and his record of supporting evil on the other, Pokorsky notes, adding that “Biden’s habitual and unapologetic sinful acts are on full display.” “The next Republican that tells me I’m not religious I’m going to shove my rosary beads down their throat,” Biden said in 2005, and yet being a faithful Catholic means much more than carrying a rosary, the priest declares. The words of Jesus are foreboding: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven,” Pokorsky cites. It is “presumptuous and dangerous to proclaim oneself as a devout Catholic or to encourage (or even allow) the description,” the priest states. In point of fact, one would never know Biden is a Catholic from the positions he takes on key moral issues, he suggests. Biden has said he is “committed to codifying” Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion, Pokorsky observes, and he has promised he will be “appointing judges that respect foundational precedents like Roe.” He already rescinded the pro-life Mexico City Policy, which ensured that taxpayer dollars would not go to organizations that perform or refer for abortions abroad, he adds. Biden has also called on Congress to quickly pass the Equality Act, which would add sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes under the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Biden nominated Xavier Becerra to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. Becerra “supports legislation that permits partial-birth abortion, forces every healthcare plan to pay for abortions, forces pro-life pregnancy centers to advertise abortions, forces the Little Sisters of the Poor to pay for contraception and abortion drugs, and allows assisted suicide,” the priest declares. Biden’s insistent claim that he is a devout Catholic forces an “unavoidable choice,” the priest states. We either: stand with the Church and reject Biden’s “iconic culture-of-death policies,” or we join those who “celebrate Biden’s flouting of Church teaching.” “Some prominent bishops and cardinals have already declared themselves sheep of Biden’s flock,” Pokorsky laments, while the “Georgetown Jesuits celebrate with elation his Mass attendance as President.” “The election of Biden has forced a crisis,” the priest concludes. “From the ashes, we can expect the Holy Spirit to raise up successors to those who opposed another anti-Catholic tyrant: Saint John Fisher and Saint Thomas More.” “May there be many of them,” he declares.
Yes, that quote certainly would be applicable here Padraig as the majority of these leftist that push the government as god, do not have a belief system other than big government and government control over our lives. They do not play fairly in the political process because they have no moral compass guiding them because they do not subscribe to a faith that dictates honesty, etc. Those in government that have a Christian belief system are not on a even playing field with this godless...possibly communist regime now in power. Spoiler Alert: At the end of the book,.... GOD WINS!!!!!!!! So do not despair....keep your chin up, live with joy! Be not afraid, pray hope and don’t worry! Jesus, I trust in You+++
Also thinking you are God leads to insanity. They learned this in Ancient Rome were many Emperors declared themselves to be a God. The Emperor Caligula made his horse, 'Incitatus', a Senator. This seems a lot more sane that declaring a man can be a woman or a woman a man simply by saying so.
