This reminds me of a story our Priest told in a homily many years ago. Back in 2008/2009 at the lowest of the stock market crash, there was a very wealthy billionaire in Europe. His net worth was near $200 billion and it declined like so many others losing around $10 billion. Yes $10 billion is an obscene amount of money but to this multi billionaire, it was nothing. Even with all his wealth, he was so distraught and unhappy about losing $10 billion, he committed suicide. Like Jesus said, you can't serve Him and mammon. Store up your riches in heaven and you will find your happiness and never be bored.
It's interesting to read books on Buisiness Psychology . That you will never be much good at making money unless you really want it. The reason we ever get on well with anything is that we really want it. The reason why we really want anything is that it fills or appears to fill and give meaning to our lives. So, for instance with something like Black Lives Matter. The vast majority of BLM folk appear to be young well educated whites. What happens to Blacks is neither here nor there to them. What matters is that BLM or any kind of victimhood gig gives meaning and purpose to their empty lives. The best thing of all would be that they, themselves would be a victim. So ideally the best thing might be that they would be a homosexual or Transvestite or an, 'oppressed woman ' so that they would have something to have an Eternal Whinge about. But the next best thing is to have an Eternal Whinge on behalf of someone else. It fills up empty lives giving some kind of meaning and purpose. The Intelligence Community is another good example. People become that horrible thing, a spy, in order to fill their lives. On the surface it is about being a Patriot, but scratch the surface it is about filling empty lives. There are two very sad scenes regarding this emptiness in the film, 'Dancing with Wolves', of an officer who facing the emptiness of a life that is totally empty on the Empty Plains of the West, cannot stand the emptiness of his life anymore and so kills himself. Or another officer who tries to seek death by riding in front of the enemy lines.
I constantly have to remember to thank God for my blessings…it’s so easy to take them for granted. When they are gone, I’m sure God will hear from us more often…. Thank you Jesus
Ah, Josephite, in the eyes of the elite, we will always be the pawns in a chess game: the first to be expendable. The control which the MSM exerts will determine what most Americans and/or Down-Under friends believe. I feel those of us who fortunately see the bigger picture, must focus on prayer and fasting. I learned this by watching my country and Church's response to covid-19. My time and sphere of influence is small, so I will spend it using mostly spiritual weapons. I know I sound wimpy, but I think it is best! Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
