1 Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written to you, not to keep company, if any man that is named a brother, be a fornicator, or covetous, or a server of idols, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner: with such a one, not so much as to eat. 12 For what have I to do to judge them that are without? Do not you judge them that are within? 13 For them that are without, God will judge. Put away the evil one from among yourselves.

The above are some of the strongest words of warning from Paul! It is spoken of those Catholics who continue in such mortal sin with little or no resistance. It appears the Church in Corinth was particularly susceptible to sins of the flesh because these are listed first.

No matter what my greatest personal weakness is, I must despise the sin in my life which sets a bad example for other Catholics.

images(4).jpg I heard a report yesterday that suggests that 90 per cent of men and 80 per cent of women confess sins of impurity at confession. The percentage of men was no surprise but I must admit the women surprised me. BasIcally in modern western societies we are living in a deep pool of filth. So it's difficult to see how we would not get covered in it. I hope God will make allowances on Judgement Day. But I do think Jesus, the Just Judge will expect us to make some efforts to avoid the filth. I threw out my TV years ago which was a big help. But as I use both Amazon Prime and Netflix so have to be careful.

Our Lady at Fatima said sins of impurity are the greatest cause of souls being dragged to hell. In saying this she was simply repeating what a long line of saints have always said. I think the only answer is to come apart from Western Culture and this requires self control, discipline, prayer and penance.

I agree. To be in the world and not of it is no easy thing. Three prayers to Our Lady every day to not sin is a great devotion. I think she really does run interference for us.

This is why there are so many great saints these days

Anyone who can stay pure these days has the very angels bowing their heads to her or him

The only way I can keep my head on straight these days is by constantly pleading before God to put His Love in my heart. His Will not mine.

Yes. Thats it completely. I have never felt so helpless to achieve any spiritual progress on my own. " "Apart from Me you can do nothing." Our Lord was speaking plain truth.
