I was looking for holy water fonts and stumbled upon this website. I've never seen anything like this before. It belongs to an antique collector, many years in business, who purchases altars, monstrances, kneelers, large statues, chalices, thuribles, etc. I felt like I had been transported to the Europe of many decades ago, looking at the most beautiful sacramentals and precious Church contents and wondered how these ended up in a warehouse gathering dust. To whom do they sell these and what is their criteria to chooses worthy customers so that these items are not defiled. Some of these questions were answered in the FAQ page. I wish I could send these all to the churches in Africa that only have dirt floors, no pews, and a table for an altar but are filled with happy worshipers. While browsing through the collection photos, I notice a shelf filled with crucifixes, including some I'd like to get my hands on: a sick call kit. these are the crucifixes that are about an inch and a half, maybe two inches thick (2 - 3 cm). They're thick because the top 9with the corpus) slides off to reveal supplies needed for a priest's sick call. In the base, there's a slot to fit the crucifix to stand upright, plus space for two small blessed candles (to fit into holders on either side of the upright crucifix) and a bottle for holy water. I remember we had one growing up, and I never thought about it as something a Catholic family would have. P.S. Just for fun, I did a search and found that both Autom and The Catholic Company sell Sick Call Crucifixes.
