How similar it is in most states. Even Texas resembles New York State when it comes to the electoral maps. The large urban areas go Democrat and the rural areas go Republican. In New York State the population of NYC, along with other cities like Syracuse, combine to outweigh the rural areas every time. It is the same in Texas, but the reverse: while the large metro areas like Houston and Austin still do go Democrat, they are not quite large enough to outweigh the rest of the state which votes Republican.

What is it about cities that so readily vote for the Dems?

    Lord have Mercy!

Well, here in Florida, it’s a miracle we have De Santis for Governor. South Florida is very Democrat. Except for the Cuban Americans, the rest of Hispanics vote Democrat. Such a shame.

My husband and I talk about this very thing often. There is something in city life that pulls and distracts from God and good character, I think. Too much convenience, too many people to impress, too much on the agenda, too many possessions, too much noise. So much stress, temptation, and overindulgence. Not enough peace and quiet and long open road drives to introspect and hear God's voice. Not enough contact with God's natural world to draw our minds toward beauty and wonder.

I think of this as I drive from the country to the city. As I leave the beauty of God's works--the trees, rolling hills, cows dotting the fields--and I see the city rising before me with its towering skyscrapers, it's not hard to see what men build in the cities is their own new world refashioned as a monument to themselves rather than God.

Big cities are the modern towers of Babel.

It is much the same here in Minnesota. The large cities and college towns are Democrat, and the rural areas are Republican. Unfortunately the Democrats win.

Yes!!!! You are right! I was thinking something similar the other day…..that the more convenience and entertainment me have, the further we move from God as a society. When everyone had to work really hard to survive, they were closer to God. Modern life has not been good for us.

I call it the Santa Claus factor- they magically appear with all sorts of “free” stuff. Of course, we all know there is no such thing as a free lunch. Someone pays.

    What a wonderful wise post.

That’s why prophecy states that in the new world after the triumph there will be no big cities.

God’s beautiful natural world will be enough.

Catholic Churches are being singled out this weekend by radical pro aborts. I just read a letter written by a Catholic Priest on how to react if your parish is attacked this weekend. Prophesy unfolding . . .

Thank you for sharing this, it really lifts my spirits. Won't that be wonderful - praise the Lord!

Weren't the cities built by the Cainites? The Lord has often destroyed cities (Sodom, Niniveh, Jerusalem) and prophecies tell us more will be destroyed (Rome, Paris, Marseille...) And by contrast, apparitions have often been in small villages away from cities to the poor or simple (children).

Are the passages of given for those quotes from Sr Faustina's diary? I confess that I hadn't noted that prophecy in her diary.

I can't help but think after God has punished the world and we are back to simpler times (if we survive) then we will probably be left to wander around like the Israelites for many years and depend solely on God for our daily bread like the manna from Heaven until this generation has passed. We've been so poisoned by worldly things.

    God Bless!

Yes, small villages away from coastal areas.

That in itself might be a message from Heaven.

There’s of course the extraordinary apparitions at Rue du Bac in Paris but that may be the exception that proves the rule.

I can't recall these passages at all. I have tried locating them but can not find them.

When I was very young (about 18 years old) I went over to a place called East Grinstead in Sussex England, beside the New Forest. I did not know it then but that area had a famous reputation for Witchcraft going back many centuries. I suppose going right back to Saxon times and even beyond it way back to the Druids. I suppose this was back in the 70's.

Anyway walking along the shops in the village I was very surprised at the amount of well stocked witches shop there were even then. It was like a Harry Potter dream Mall.

But I do recall one of them that appeared to be a skull used as a chalice. It looked very, very realistic to me. Coming from Ireland..which was still very, Catholic back then, I recall how shocked I was to see this.
