You are certainly not crazy Carol. I don't know what more of a sign we could ask for. When I see things like this it gets my attention. We may never know what the real story is behind it but knowing the party involved it is certainly not unlikely that there is more to it.

I saw that News12 video. It seems that some of the people of RI are getting pretty fed up with the media's coverage to put it lightly. :)

I also saw this article this morning and I hope that the Congressman continues in his pursuit of the truth and pray for his ongoing protection. I watch the Global Times tweets because it quite literally is the mouthpiece for the CCP on Twitter. A few weeks back they had the audacity to tweet that America would never be the same as a result of the pandemic. I don't know about anyone else but having seen the tone of their statements for months now it struck me that they were quite literally throwing it in our faces collectively.

China's Government Threatens Harm to U.S. Congressman Chris Smith
    May 17, 2020 at 10:43 AM

NEW JERSEY: U.S. Congressman Chris Smith, represents district 4, NJ. Smith is demanding the truth from China, and is seeking to legally empower victims of COVID-19.

The Chinese government through its propaganda organ the Global Times threatened Congressman Chris Smith of New Jersey and a handful of American lawmakers and officials seeking to legally empower victims of the COVID-19 pandemic to bring lawsuits in U.S. courts against the Chinese government.

The Global Times wrote on May 14, “China is extremely dissatisfied with the abuse of litigation by the US against China over the COVID-19 epidemic, and is considering punitive countermeasures against US individuals, entities and state officials. China won't just strike back symbolically but will impose countermeasures that will make them feel the pain, analysts said.”

The article continued, “Smith has also been a frequent instigator on China-related topics, particularly on so-called human rights issues. In March 2019, Smith introduced legislation to tackle China's political influence in the US by saying ‘Beijing's influence operations are sophisticated and threatening.’"

Smith said: “Sanctions will not silence me or anyone who demands genuine accountability for this horrific pandemic. In my state of New Jersey alone, more than ten thousand people have died from COVID-19. Beijing cannot continue to hide, lie and now threaten to stop us from demanding the truth.”

Smith is the prime author of H.R.6524 - Compensation for the Victims of State Misrepresentations to the World Health Organization Act of 2020 a bill he introduced on April 17th joined by Rep. Ron Wright (R-TX) to waive the Foreign Immunities Act to legally empower U.S. citizens to sue the government of China for monetary damages, “for personal injury or death, or damage to or loss of property, occurring in the United States as a result of a willful or grossly negligent misrepresentation of information to the World Health Organization.”

Additionally, on Friday (May 15th) Smith, joined by Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), introduced H.R. 6915 to establish a truth commissiontasked to with compiling the factual record on the origins of and response to COVID-19 by both China and the World Health Organization (WHO) and make recommendations for future improvement.

The Smith-Cuellar truth commission legislation states that “With the onset of the COVID-19 the Government of the People’s Republic of China provided factually-inaccurate information to the WHO and Director-General Ghebreyesus, resulting in the spread of disinformation globally about the pandemic.”

In addition to the lawsuit and truth commission legislation, Smith is the prime author of numerous bills, amendments and laws to combat Chinese government abuse including most recently:

    · The Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act

    · Countering the Chinese Government and Communist Party’s Political Influence Operations Act

    · Combating Illicit Fentanyl Act of 2019

    · Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act

Smith has chaired more than 60 congressional hearings on Chinese human rights abuses, from China’s "soft power" use of Confucius Institutes, to NYU and other institutions of higher learning being given unimaginable deals, the pervasive use of forced abortion, coerced sterilization, torture, religious persecution, laogai labor, and organ harvesting.

The 20-term Republican said he has traveled to China several times and after one human rights visit to Beijing was blocked for seven years from getting a visa.

Smith chaired a landmark hearing in 2006 with top executives from Google, Microsoft, Cisco and Yahoo demanding that these and other top U.S. corporations end what he called their “complicity with China’s secret police repression and Beijing’s ubiquitous censorship of the internet.”

Soon after the Tiananmen Square massacre, in March of 1991, Smith and then-Congressman Frank Wolf led a human rights mission to China and visited Beijing Prison No. 1 where over 40 democracy protestors were making shoes and socks for export to the U.S. The two congressmen got U.S. Customs to place an import ban on all products from the prison.

On another trip to China in January of 1994, Smith visited with Bishop Su Zhimin, Roman Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Baoding in Hebei Province who spent decades in prison for his faith. After celebrating Mass with Smith and his delegation, Bishop Su was arrested and held for nine days.

Smith said that “on human rights, democracy and the rule of law, President Xi is in a race to the bottom with North Korea. Under his policy of sinicization all religious faiths are required to comport with communist ideology.” In December of 2018, Smith wrote an op-ed published by the Washington Post: The world must stand against China’s war on religion.

“I sponsored the first (of dozens) committee and floor amendments beginning in 1983 to defund the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) for its complicity in China's coercive one child per couple policy,” he said.

Smith said that for over 30 years, he has “pushed back on the fantasy notion that trade with China—in reality, a gutting of American manufacturing and a wholesale transfer of intellectual property--would somehow ameliorate China’s behavior.”

Along with a handful of other congressional voices “we fought the Clinton Administration when it abandoned the linking of trade benefits (Most Favored Nation, or MFN) with significant progress on human rights and he put together and chaired the only congressional hearings opposing China’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).”

When Bill Clinton abandoned human rights linkage with China MFN on a Friday afternoon—on May 26, 1994—Smith put together a press conference to protest what he called Clinton’s “abandonment”: China Most Favored Nation Status Reaction.

“Since that infamous day in May, we—and the human rights defenders inside China—lost much of our leverage to promote human rights in China,” he added.

Another article concerning the Chinese Ambassadors death. Let's hope that Israel chooses wisely in regard to China. Unfortunately I could see Netanyahu's Govt wanting to use China's technology apparatus on a segment of their society and could consider it to be a solution to their problems. China has turned the police state into something much much worse than we have ever seen before.

Chinese ambassador to Israel found dead in Herzliya home
There are reportedly no signs of violence. Wei's death comes a week after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visited Israel in an apparent attempt to convince the gov't to limit Chinese investment.

China's Ambassador to Israel Du Wei attends a briefing in his previous post in Ukraine.

Chinese Ambassador to Israel Du Wei was found dead in his Herzliya home on Sunday morning, a Foreign Ministry official said. Police were investigating at his home.

The Chinese Embassy said it could not confirm the reports.

There were no signs of violence, leading investigators to believe that Wei died from a heart attack, Army Radio reported. Other sources close to the investigation claim he died of cardiac arrest.

Foreign Ministry director-general Yuval Rotem expressed his condolences to Chinese Deputy Ambassador to Israel Dai Yuming. The Foreign Ministry would help in any way necessary, he said.

Wei, 57, was a husband and father to a son. His family is not in the country with him. He arrived in Israel in February to assume the position of ambassador, having served as Chinese ambassador to Ukraine before that.

Wei’s death comes one week after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visited Israel in what seemed to be an attempt to convince the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to limit Chinese investments in Israel.

Chinese Embassy in Israel spokesperson Wang Yongjun wrote an op-ed in The Jerusalem Post on Friday about the resilience of the Chinese and Israelis, calling Pompeo’s claims and comments “absurd.”

“Historical experience also shows that pandemic is accompanied by conspiracies and the dark mentality of seeking scapegoats,” Yongjun wrote. “Jewish friends know it well.”

“China-Israel cooperation is win-win in nature, and the projects are market activities based on supply and demand. In the hi-tech area, our cooperation opened the largest market in the world to Israel’s innovation achievement, and in the infrastructure fields, Chinese companies bring cost-effective labors that are much needed by Israel’s construction endeavour and provide a large number of job opportunities,” he wrote. “Above is the response of the Embassy towards Mr Pompeo’s comments on China. We trust that the Jewish friends are not only able to defeat the coronavirus but also the ‘political virus’ and choose the course of action that best serves their interests.”

Former foreign minister Israel Katz tweeted that he was “shocked to hear tragic news related to the sudden death of H.E. Du Wei... Ambassador Du was a distinguished career diplomat and during his short time in Israel had already contributed to the bilateral relations between the countries.”

Katz conveyed his condolences to the Chinese Foreign Ministry on behalf of Israel.

You have to take into the equation that the ambassador had just taken up the position in Israel in Feb. He was the Chinese ambassador to Ukraine when he took up this position. Did he know where all the bodies were buried in that former corrupt regime in Ukraine....esp. where the investigation of Biden's son was interrupted by Biden, the Chinese's preference for President in the coming election? If this happened in Ukraine there would be a lot of assumptions pertaining to that former regime there. The modus operandi of Ukraine also involves hit men in other countries. Whatever the investigation into his death may include I doubt if we will ever know the truth since there is the same kind of division and lies and accusations against Israel's Trump.....Netanyahu.....and the left there is just as power hungry and secular as the one here.

Biden doesn't have "people".....he's a puppet of the DS here and thus they have their own connections in many places for same reasons. A stolen election that places that puppet into the most desired position of power in the world is their last hope to keep power. They are desperate now and will do anything to stay in power.....or.....they go to jail. BiBi is hanging on but barely. He will be much more empowered once Trump gets re-elected. The Chinese ain't gonna protect him from Iran's puppet terrorists in the region or their nuke program. Israel probably already has its own anti-viral answer. Who knows....maybe that's what Trump already has news of. Meanwhile China gets the focus now for hoarding all of the aids to helping the pandemic.

They're now saying the Ambassador died in his sleep of natural causes!!! You'll never hear who may have helped him along!

Japan joins calls for probe into WHO's coronavirus response
The WHO has been accused by U.S. and allies of turning a blind eye while China withheld information

Japan will call for an investigation into the World Health Organization’s initial response to the coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has said.

“With the European Union, (Japan) will propose that a fair, independent and comprehensive verification be conducted,” Abe said on an internet program Friday.

He said the proposal will be made at the WHO’s general assembly to begin Monday.

Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi also said Friday that Japan is joining a chorus of calls for such an investigation, which should be conducted by an independent body.

“This disease has had a devastating impact on the entire world, and information must be shared between countries in a free, transparent and timely manner, lest we risk it spreading even more quickly,” Motegi said in a parliamentary session, in reference to COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

“There’s a lot of discussion in the international community about precisely where the virus came from and the initial response,” he said. “There needs to be a thorough investigation, and it’s crucial that this be carried out by an independent body.”

A senior official with the Foreign Ministry, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Japan plans to voice the view at an annual meeting of the WHO’s decision-making body to be held next week in a virtual setting.

The WHO has been accused by the United States and some of its allies of turning a blind eye while China withheld information that could have helped limit the spread of the virus after it was first reported in the city of Wuhan.

U.S. President Donald Trump has been one of the strongest critics of the WHO, saying it is “a puppet for China,” and has suspended funding to the Geneva-based U.N. agency.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has rejected such accusations, urging countries not to politicize the virus that has now killed some 300,000 people worldwide.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has also called for an investigation into the origin of the new coronavirus, standing his ground even as China announced plans to impose tariffs on Australian barley imports in a move many saw as retaliation.

While Japan is falling in line with such calls, Motegi also stressed during the meeting of the Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee that any inquiry should take place after the global pandemic subsides.

He did not specify which independent body he thinks should handle the task, saying at a news conference Friday that was something “for the relevant countries to discuss.”

So today in Bejing the communists in the HK legislative body forcefully physically removed the pro-democracy lawmakers and then took a vote and elected a pro-communist chair of a key committee that oversees bills while men held the doors shut.

Hong Kong lawmakers clash as pro-Beijing camp elects chair

HONG KONG – Clashes broke out in Hong Kong’s legislature Monday for a second time this month as a pro-Beijing lawmaker was elected as chair of a key committee that scrutinizes bills, ending a prolonged struggle for control with the pro-democracy camp.

The legislature’s House Committee, which vets bills and decides when to present them for a final vote, had been without a chairperson for more than six months. The central government in Beijing criticized deputy chairperson and pro-democracy lawmaker Dennis Kwok for deliberately delaying matters and causing a backlog of bills that affect public interest.

Kwok was replaced Friday by Chan Kin-por, who was appointed by the legislature’s president to preside over Monday’s election. After scuffles and shouting matches, leading to Chan ejecting most of the pro-democracy lawmakers, the election took place with pro-Beijing lawmaker Starry Lee winning easily.

Her election will likely speed up the passing of a controversial bill that would criminalize abuse of the Chinese national anthem. Hong Kong’s chief executive Carrie Lam said last week that passing the bill was a priority for the government, and the bill will be presented to the committee on May 27.

At Monday’s meeting, pro-democracy lawmakers held up placards that read “Abuse of Power” and “CCP tramples HK legislature,” referring to the China's ruling Communist Party. Within minutes, at least five lawmakers were ejected for disorderly behavior, with at least one lying injured on the ground as the meeting was briefly suspended.

“Hong Kong is marching towards the beginning of the end of ‘one country, two systems’,” said pro-democracy lawmaker Claudia Mo after the meeting ended.

The former British colony was returned to China in 1997 under a one country, two systems framework that gives Hong Kong its own legal system and greater rights than in the mainland.

Mo urged the Hong Kong people to vote out those who “don’t care about Hong Kong’s future” in the legislative elections in September.

Pro-democracy lawmaker Tanya Chan accused security guards of Hong Kong’s legislature of “losing their impartiality,” after the security guards surrounded the bench where the chairperson was seated and prevented pro-democracy lawmakers from getting close.

Pro-Beijing lawmaker Martin Liao said the opposition camp had “assaulted some of the security officers,” and disrupted “legitimate” election proceedings.

Lawmakers clashed over the same issue on May 8, when Lee occupied the chairperson’s seat more than an hour before the meeting was scheduled to start, saying that external legal counsel had advised that she had the power to preside over House Committee meetings.

Pro-democracy lawmakers accused her of abusing her power and staged a walkout, leaving Lee and the pro-Beijing camp to clear several bills.

Also Monday, 15 pro-democracy figures, including media tycoon Jimmy Lai, appeared in court to face charges relating to anti-government protests last year over a controversial extradition bill that has since been withdrawn. The bill would have allowed residents of the semi-autonomous Chinese territory to be sent to mainland to stand trial and sparked months of protests.

I am reading the occasional report of declining sun-spot activity in the last two years, of course completely ignored by the mainstream media, still wrapped up in their COVID-obsession.

Solar activity in 2019 was devoid of sun-spots 77% of the time and so far this year has been for 76%. This conceivably suggests the possibility of entering into a cold period such as happened in the early nineteenth century, with a global drop in temperature of up to 2 degrees Celsius. Obviously, I don't need to spell out the implications to all the sensible people here, but it might be what is necessary to persuade the great number of lunatics and dupes that have been taken in by the global warming scam. With famines already threatening in much of the world, expect tough times if this is the future.

It confirms the diligent work of a lady, whose name escapes me, who has been studying this subject in the University of Northumberland for some years and has been predicting, on a solid scientific basis, just this outcome, while of course being completely ignored by the mainstream media and the scientific establishment.

I've read things about the influence of sun spots and solar storms etc on our climate. It is way more significant than carbon dioxide. I've wondered myself if we are heading back to a "little ice age" like the 400 years or so from 1400s to 1800s. People skated down the canals of Holland every winter. That hasn't happened in a 100 years. That is where root vegetables became so vital because they did well in the cold. I've read about the "little ice age" and its effects. Very interesting.
