Fatima, [Edit: sorry, I failed to see that others already spoke on this theme] I believe you are missing the central point of what Muhzik was sharing. As Christians we not only share in (a) the intercessory ministry of Jesus, but also his (b) redemptive suffering. I know your convinced of this, too! But even I tremble sometimes at such a commitment. Simon Cyrene is an icon of our calling to do so. If I can share some passages from Scripture, first concerning Jesus, and then we as disciples: JESUS Isaiah 50:5 The Lord GOD has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, I turned not backward. 6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to those who pulled out the beard; I hid not my face from shame and spitting. 7 For the Lord GOD helps me; therefore I have not been confounded; therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame. Isaiah 53:4 4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that made us whole, and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Luke 22:41 And he was withdrawn away from them a stone's cast; and kneeling down, he prayed, 42 Saying: Father, if thou wilt, remove this chalice from me: but yet not my will, but thine be done. 43 And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony, he prayed the longer. 44 And his sweat became as drops of blood, trickling down upon the ground. Mark 15: 24 And they crucified him, and divided his garments among them, casting lots for them, to decide what each should take. 25 And it was the third hour, when they crucified him. 26 And the inscription of the charge against him read, "The King of the Jews." 27 And with him they crucified two robbers, one on his right and one on his left. 29 And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads, and saying, "Aha! You who would destroy the temple and build it in three days, 30 save yourself, and come down from the cross!" 31 So also the chief priests mocked him to one another with the scribes, saying, "He saved others; he cannot save himself. 32 Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe." Those who were crucified with him also reviled him. Phil 2: 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross. We well know the above, but the following is for us all, especially me, to strive to live out. DISCIPLES Matt 5: 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so men persecuted the prophets who were before you. Luke 14: 27 Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 2 Cor 4:8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 11 For while we live we are always being given up to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 2 Cor 12: 9 but he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities; for when I am weak, then I am strong. Phil 3: 10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 that if possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. Col 1:24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church. 1Pet 4:1 Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same thought, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer by human passions but by the will of God. May I more fully live out the above in sacrifices and fasting. O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
I habitually offer up a pain or an ache. This usually prompts me to think of Our Lord's sufferings and I feel a bit of a fraud! However, feelings can lie and even my most pathetic 'sufferings' are taken into account, I believe. Chesterton said that God was very easy on us. We were only given a few commandments and had the freedom to do what we liked, otherwise. He also correctly predicted that when men abandoned the Ten Commandments, they would replace them with the ten thousand commandments.
I keep thinking of those Nigerian Christians. Imagine the desire for Christ that prompts Muslims to convert in the face of Boko Haram. They already have four martyrs to pray to among them. I am very humbled. God bless 'em. But we know that He already has.
One of the scenarios painted by a seer I've read a while back...can't remember the name.....was that the full length cross, rather than just the upper cross part, was placed upon the most notorious criminals to cause the most suffering and humiliation. So the fact that the main portion in its length dragging upon the rough earth, getting stuck at times, caused Christ to fall and added to His exhaustion. This made the Way take much longer than the soldiers wished so they forced Simon to lift that portion of the cross only thus allowing Christ to continue to carry His cross the entire way!
Flood-Ravaged Venice Declares State of Emergency as Mayor Blames Climate Change for 'Dramatic Situation' Stranded gondolas float adrift over the flooded banks, in Venice, Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019. The mayor of Venice is blaming climate change for flooding in the historic canal city that has reached the second-highest levels ever recorded, as another exceptional water level was recorded Wednesday. Luigi Costantini—AP By GIADA ZAMPANO / AP https://time.com/5729136/venice-state-of-emergency-flooding/ November 14, 2019 (ROME) — Italy’s government declared a state of emergency Thursday in flood-ravaged Venice, seeking to release funds to repair the historic lagoon city after it was damaged by the highest tide in 50 years. A cabinet meeting approved a special decree that included 20 million euros ($21.7 million) in immediate financial aid aimed at helping the city recover. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte described the flooding as “a blow to the heart of our country,” after spending Wednesday night in Venice, where world-famous monuments, homes and businesses were hit hard by the exceptional flooding. Venice’s mayor said the damage is estimated at “hundreds of millions of euros.” Mayor Luigi Brugnaro blamed climate change for the “dramatic situation” in the historical city and called for the speedy completion of the city’s long-delayed Moses flood defense project. The water levels reached 1.87 meters (over 6 feet, 1 inch) above sea level Tuesday, the second-highest level ever recorded in the city and just 7 centimeters (2½ inches) lower than the historic 1966 flood. Another wave of exceptionally high water followed Wednesday. Related Stories World Venice ‘On Its Knees’ After Second-Worst Flooding Ever Recorded The exceptional flooding was caused by southerly winds that pushed a high tide, exacerbated by a full moon, into the city. Although the waters have fallen from the peak reached late Tuesday, St Mark’s Square remained partially flooded on Thursday and a new peak water level is expected for Friday morning. In Venice, the crypt beneath St. Mark’s Basilica was inundated for only the second time in its history. Damage was also reported at the Ca’ Pesaro modern art gallery, where a short circuit set off a fire, and at the La Fenice theater, where authorities turned off the electricity as a precaution after the control room was flooded. Venice archbishop Francesco Moraglia said St. Mark’s Basilica had suffered “irreparable damage,” with salty water posing risks to its mosaics, columns and pavements. Venice for years has been struggling with unwieldly amounts of tourists, the constant deterioration of its fragile lagoon environment and a dwindling population. Tuesday’s devastating floods have reignited a yearslong debate Moses, a multibillion-euro flood defenses project that has been under construction since 2003. The project has not yet been activated, after being delayed a number of times due to corruption scandals, costs overruns and environmentalists’ opposition over its effects on Venice’s lagoon ecosystem. Italian Transport and Infrastructure Minister Paola De Micheli pledged Thursday that the Moses project will be completed by 2021, but part of it could start work even earlier. Rising sea levels because of climate change coupled with Venice’s well-documented sinking make the northeastern Italian city built amid a system of canals particularly vulnerable to the elements. The sea level in Venice is 10 centimeters (4 inches) higher than it was 50 years ago, according to the city’s tide office. The damages this week included five ferries that serve as water buses, a critical means of transportation in the city. Photos on social media showed taxi boats and gondolas grounded on walkways flanking city canals.
So these poor, baby faults may be coerced into participating in larger quakes. Thus, they may cause destruction ... ( ... wait for it ... ) ... through no fault of their own...
Some exposition for those who don't live in the central US states. The entire New Madrid Seismic Zone (NMSZ) is an area about a quarter of the size of the state of California. It's centered, more or less, on the city of New Madrid (new MA-drid, btw) Missouri, in the "boot heel" part of the state. It's not a "fault", it's a "zone" because it's made up of multiple small faults all at right angles to each other. It's what has made all of the New Madrid earthquakes so destructive, because you have the shaking motions going at right angles to each other, causing a circular shaking. So this new discovery in California is old hat in the Midwest. A dear online friend of mine (who died this last Sunday -- prayers for her soul, please) was married to someone who worked for the Oklahoma state agency that tracked earthquakes. She told us that the earthquakes happening in Oklahoma were growing in size and severity, and they also revealed many, many more smaller faults, all leading to the western edge of the NMSZ. Therefore, it's possible that a small earthquake in Oklahoma, could wind up triggering a major earthquake in the NMSZ. Suddenly, for some reason, Nov. 15 and Akita just came to mind ...
I have said this before and it is proving to be true. As God continues to allow natural disasters to wake up and purify our world, the earth worshipers will claim the natural disasters are caused by the religious people in the world who are not embracing their globalist agenda. The more natural disasters occur, the louder the earth worshiper pantheists will claim their belief to be true and they will then justify the persecution of those who do not follow.
Climate change has been made into a sacred cow (golden calf?) Another false altar to offer incense at---the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof says the psalms.
Many are buying into this eco-religion. Please pray for the children of good faithful Catholic friends in Syracuse, especially their daughter, who has bought into this satanic delusion. She belongs to a circle of friends many of whom have committed to sterilization in order to avoid birthing children into this doomsday scenario. Lord have mercy! O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
Oh Terry how awful. How evil to have promoted this idea to young people. I pray for all those who have embraced this satanic delusion. But I think Fatima's right. They will turn on those of us who refuse to come on board.
Shows the big lie that it is. If it was a genuine doomsday scenario, it would be an imperative to have more children.
This is beyond my competence but a friend sent me this video.....very intriguing as well as questionable as presented....and since the topic has come up here previously I place it for your discernment. Why the earth opens to show hell to some visionaries??? This gets pretty wild when it gets into the family connections...but that is also covered at other places as well. THIS IS IT! THIS is What They're HIDING!! [Pt. 1] -- Justen Faull
We have been saying this--the origins of these entities is not outer space. Precious Blood of Jesus cover us!
Another article about recent bad weather in Italy https://apnews.com/343886375fcb49e58ee188ddab0fbb0e From the article: Elsewhere in Tuscany, 2,000 people were ordered evacuated in Grosseto as the Ombrone river swelled dangerously. Near Grosseto, firefighters rescued a man clinging to a tree as floodwaters surrounded him. In the countryside outside of Bologna, in the central-north Emilia Romagna region, an elderly couple was plucked to safety by a helicopter when the Idice river overran its banks. In Italy’s mountainous Alto Adige, or South Tyrol region, a mid-autumn snowstorm triggered power outages and blocked roads in several Alpine valleys. The mayor of Val Martello, Georg Altstaetter, told state TV that an avalanche had damaged two houses but caused no injuries. Other homes were evacuated as a precaution in the town, which was left without electricity. The region’s governor told people to stay home so crews could clear snow-clogged roads. A windstorm overnight in the Rome area toppled scores of trees, with two falling on cars, severely injuring a motorist. Some politicians lamented that the drama over Venice’s high tides was eclipsing the needs of other areas. In Matera, a once-impoverished southern town that has experienced a renaissance through tourism, heavy rain sent torrents of mud racing through its streets last week, ruining shops and lodging.
