Although this predicted supernova explosion may not be "pointed at earth", could it be seen in the heavens and explode with enough force to cause phenomena on earth that would shake us?

Could this be a warning? Or chastisement? A great shaking? A jolt?

    American Exorcism
Priests are fielding more requests than ever for help with demonic possession, and a centuries-old practice is finding new footing in the modern world.

Louisa Muskovits appeared to be having a panic attack. It was March of 2016, and Louisa, a 33-year-old with a history of alcohol abuse, was having a regular weekly session with her chemical-dependency counselor in Tacoma, Washington.

Louisa had recently separated from her husband, Steven. When the counselor asked about her marriage, she said she wasn’t ready to talk about it. The counselor pressed, and again Louisa demurred. Eventually the conversation grew tense, and Louisa started to hyperventilate, a common symptom of a panic attack.

The counselor rushed down the hall to get Louisa’s therapist, Amy Harp. Together they moved Louisa to Harp’s office, where they felt they could better calm her. But once Louisa was there, Harp recalls, her demeanor transformed. Normally friendly and open, she started screaming and pulling out clumps of her hair. She growled and glared. Her head flailed from side to side, cocking back at odd angles. In jumbled bursts, she muttered about good and evil, God and the devil. She told the counselors that no one there could save “Louisa.”

According to Harp, Louisa seemed to vacillate between this unhinged state and her normal self. One minute she would snarl and bare her teeth, and the next she would beg for help. “It definitely had this appearance where she was fighting within herself,” Harp told me.

Harp had never seen this kind of behavior before, and wasn’t sure what to do. But she knew that Louisa had occasionally experienced episodes in which she felt something indescribably dark overtake her, and that she would read scripture to beat back these states. “You need to read Bible verses,” Harp said. Her bearing still frantic, Louisa picked up her smartphone and began looking up passages. As she read, she started to calm down. Her flailing diminished; her frenzied affect ebbed. She vomited in a trash bin, and after that she was her old self again, full of apologies, her eyes wet, her face red.

The encounter left Harp baffled about what she’d just witnessed. For Louisa it had a more profound effect, prompting a search for answers that would ultimately lead her away from modern medicine and its well-worn paths for mental-health treatment, and toward the older, more ritualized remedies of her Catholic faith.
Louisa Muskovits experienced a series of troubling episodes that her therapists couldn’t explain. These incidents led her to seek spiritual help. (Ian Allen)
The conviction that demons exist—and that they exist to harass, derange, and smite human beings—stretches back as far as religion itself. In ancient Mesopotamia, Babylonian priests performed exorcisms by casting wax figurines of demons into a fire. The Hindu Vedas, thought to have been written between 1500 and 500 b.c., refer to supernatural beings—known as asuras, but largely understood today as demons—that challenge the gods and sabotage human affairs. For the ancient Greeks, too, demonlike creatures lurked on the shadowy fringes of the human world.

But far from being confined to a past of Demiurges and evil eyes, belief in demonic possession is widespread in the United States today. Polls conducted in recent decades by Gallup and the data firm YouGov suggest that roughly half of Americans believe demonic possession is real. The percentage who believe in the devil is even higher, and in fact has been growing: Gallup polls show that the number rose from 55 percent in 1990 to 70 percent in 2007.

Catholic Church’s antidote to demonic possession—seems to be growing as well. Though the Church does not keep official statistics, the exorcists I interviewed for this article attest to fielding more pleas for help every year.

Father Vincent Lampert, the official exorcist for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, told me in early October that he’d received 1,700 phone or email requests for exorcisms in 2018, by far the most he’s ever gotten in one year. Father Gary Thomas—a priest whose training as an exorcist in Rome was documented in The Rite, a book published in 2009 and made into a movie in 2011—said that he gets at least a dozen requests a week. Several other priests reported that without support from church staff and volunteers, their exorcism ministries would quickly swallow up their entire weekly schedules.

The Church has been training new exorcists in Chicago, Rome, and Manila. Thomas told me that in 2011 the U.S. had fewer than 15 known Catholic exorcists. Today, he said, there are well over 100. Other exorcists I spoke with put the number between 70 and 100. (Again, no official statistics exist, and most dioceses conceal the identity of their appointed exorcist, to avoid unwanted attention.)

In October of last year, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops had Exorcisms and Related Supplications—a handbook containing the rite of exorcism—translated into English. The rite had been updated in 1998 and again a few years later, but this was the first time it was issued in English since it had been standardized in 1614. “There’s been a whole reclaiming of a ministry that the Church had set aside,” one exorcist from a midwestern diocese told me.

(This is a rather long article so I won't post it all here. The article is worth reading and warns that due to the decline in belief in God and Christianity that more people are turning to forms of spirituality which have been warned about by the Church for millennia. My family has personally seen this with some of our daughters friends who due to lack of any instruction on the part of their parents in relation to God and His laws have turned to witch craft in seeking spirituality.)

State bill would review social media, internet as part of background checks
    by Carlet Cleare

    Wednesday, November 21st 2018

    (WHAM photo)

New York, New York - People applying for a pistol permit or renewing a license could have their social media accounts and internet history reviewed. It's part of a newly proposed bill in the New York State Senate.

State Senator Kevin Parker of the 21st District introduced Senate Bill 9191 in attempts to keep firearms out the hands of people who may be violent. The measure requires, "social media and search engine reviews prior to the approval of an application or renewal of a license to carry or possess a pistol or revolver; requires a person applying for a license to carry or possess a pistol or revolver or a renewal of such license to consent to having his or her social media accounts and search engine history reviewed and investigated for certain posts and/or searches over a period of 1-3 years prior to the approval of such application or renewal; defines terms."

This, as lawmakers and authorities around the country look for ways to prevent mass shootings.

A bill asks those applying for a gun license or renewing one to give up their log-ins and passwords to social media accounts for open searches going back three years; internet search histories would go back one year.

“I think it would help," said Sarah Stade. "You never know what people on the Internet are searching. You can have person that’s a normal everyday person to someone else, and you go into their search history or their home and it’s totally different.”

Some people see the proposal as an infringement on their First Amendment rights.

“I’ve always thought anything that’s pass code worthy is yours; it’s private,” said Glenn Moses. “To have any rights to get your passwords and go through your accounts and maintain your accounts, that’s just horrible.”

“I do believe there needs to be more staunch standards when it comes to acquiring firearms or what it takes to posses one," Jonathan Bernard said. "However, going through your search history and searching your social media and all that, I don’t know how effective that would be - unless you’re going to go into forensics and psychological things. For what it’s worth, I could be Daffy Duck on social media and you wouldn’t know the difference.”

The law would give state and local police the green light to investigate for "commonly known profane slurs used or biased language used to describe race, national origin, ancestry, gender, religion, disability or sexual orientation; threatening health or safety of another person, or an act of terrorism."

"Most times, when you have these shooting incidents, there are breadcrumbs in social media plainly visible things. What can be done about that?" said State Assemblywoman-elect Jamie Romeo. “While I respect his proposal, there’s a lot of enforcement problems with that, I think."

Gates Police Chief James VanBrederode believes a history of mental health and domestic violence is a better predictor of future behaviors.

“We chase down these social media threats," he said. "And very few are ever legitimate, because it’s easy to sit behind a keyboard and say something bad or do like that. I would even agree that this has become a violation of your privacy rights."

Romeo sees the proposal as a means to continue the conversation about the governor's “Red Flag” gun protection bill, a provision for school leaders and parents to petition a state court to order the temporary removal of firearms from a person who might present a danger to others.

"What I do think, it leads us down the path to is talking about the red flag provisions that have been already proposed and have been on the table in NYS," she said.

She hopes the Bump Stock ban is passed with the new Democrat-led State Legislature.

I saw this on Thursday and I was a bit shocked. They should have considered the young audience watching the NYC Thanksgiving Day Parade and they could have easily used a different scene from the play for the parade. I am sad to say that I will be boycotting Macy's this year.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade features lesbians kissing
    Linda Harvey | https://www.lifesitenews.com/opinion/macys-thanksgiving-day-parade-features-lesbians-kissing
gay agenda, homosexuality, lgbt agenda, macy's, thanksgiving

November 21, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – On Thanksgiving morning at 9:00 am, we turned on the TV, eager to see the Ohio State marching band in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. The famous all-brass stars of Big 10 football games were scheduled to be the leading band in the heartwarming procession down Central Park West to 34th Street.

But of course, we weren’t allowed to enjoy this moment before the incessant homosexual agenda was thrust into America’s face.

The cast of the hit Broadway musical “The Prom” performed in the first few minutes of the broadcast, smilingly introduced by NBC’s Hoda Kotb as the story of a teen girl whose high school would rather cancel prom than let her take a girlfriend to the dance. In the scene, the female performers held hands—one in a tuxedo and the other in a dress -- and the closing touch was their lesbian kiss.

And of course, possibly millions of American children are watching, and the producers of the parade and the program know this. This offense, this corruption is deliberate as the procession toward normalizing decadence marches on.

How many times have you heard activists scoff, denying there’s a “gay agenda”?

“The Prom” tells the story of a teen girl who is kicked out of her home because she’s a homosexual. She lives with her grandmother and finds a girlfriend. These currently-identifying-lesbians just want to go to the prom together, but a horrible, bigoted woman in their town, the PTA president, would rather cancel prom that let these teens be “who they are.”

Except of course that this narrative is a lie. God never makes any human to engage in what He has called an "abomination," and always shows a way out for those who seek His loving, merciful transformation from lives of sin to lives of sanity and virtue.

His design for human sexuality and marriage is beautiful and should be celebrated as a tremendous blessing on Thanksgiving. But instead, even this traditional icon of Americana, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, is being co-opted by whitewashed depravity.

The musical is a smash in New York, which seems to be falling for The Prom’s own bigotry. Christians are a popular target and so the show features a finger-pointing song called “Love Thy Neighbor.”

A review of the show called it a “delightful pro-lesbian musical.” These are New York values, and apparently, those of NBC and Macy’s as well.

One friend, a former “gay” man, emailed many of us his reaction: “Thank you Macy's...I can't even allow my kids to watch the Thanksgiving Day parade because the musical ‘Prom’ features a lesbian kiss 20 minutes into the broadcast!”

I long for the respect of youthful innocence that was once a pretty reliable standard for public broadcasts and parades. We have never been a perfect nation, but now we must monitor every influence on children, even within our own homes.

This agenda is like an airborne infection that’s suddenly everywhere. From “LGBT” affirming church youth groups, to “gay”-affirming anti-bullying school lessons, to rainbow “pride” apparel sold at Target and Walmart during the spring and summer, to the obligatory pro-homosexual article in the daily newspaper, to disturbed transvestites reading to preschoolers in libraries. It seems to be critically important to stick it to our children, all in the name of phony “tolerance” and “acceptance,” embracing sins leading to personal disaster, societal destruction and spiritual death.

On Thanksgiving, I am tremendously grateful to know the Lord and I feel a deep and lasting joy in my soul at His goodness and blessings. My cup really is overflowing.

Still, I am grieved for America and all the lost people, especially the young. I mourn the simple sweetness of mom/dad families and uncomplicated friendships, of holidays that cultivated wholesome childhood unmarred by the shadow of hateful, sexual fascism. Despite the victory that is in Jesus Christ and our ultimate destiny, before that glorious appearing, the night is coming.

Things are about to get much worse. Here’s another example, as Satan transforms himself into an angel of light, even with smiling affirmation of celebrities and all the brilliance of Broadway.

But there is opportunity in darkness. We can still call it what it is and shine our brightest light.

Hold your children close, teach them Who is really the One from Whom all blessings flow, and let’s do what we can to make a difference right now.

    Start by contacting NBC (https://www.nbc.com/contact-us ) and Macy’s (http://www.macysinc.com/contact-us/contact-us-form/default.aspx ).

And do not shop at Macy’s this Christmas season.

Linda Harvey is president of Mission America.

The following are some new balloons which have been added to the NYC Thanksgiving Day Parade this year including a balloon of a rainbow. Years ago, I wouldn't have thought anything of this but now I admit I am far more suspicious of these things. I pray that every time a child sees an image of a rainbow that they simply think of a rainbow and nothing more.

New claims of gas attack in Aleppo Syria.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-middle-east-46337143

Russia has carried out air strikes against Syrian rebels it accuses of launching a chemical attack on the government-held city of Aleppo.

Both Syria and its Russian allies say shells carrying toxic gas injured about 100 people late on Saturday.

State media showed images of Aleppo residents being treated in hospital as they struggled to breathe.

The rebels deny carrying out a chemical strike and say the claims are a pretext for an attack on opposition-held areas.

Parts of the Aleppo region, as well as the neighbouring provinces of Hama and Idlib, are controlled by Turkish-backed rebels and jihadists.

On Sunday the Russian defence ministry said warplanes had launched strikes on "the identified positions of terrorist artillery in the area that shelled civilians in the city of Aleppo" the previous evening.

It added that all "militant" targets had been "destroyed". There is no word on any casualties.

Earlier, the Observatory for Human Rights rights, a network of activist groups that monitor the conflict, said about 100 people, including women and children, had been treated for breathing difficulties following a strike on western parts of Aleppo on Saturday.

The Damascus government and Russia say rebels used chlorine gas in the attack.

Zaher Batal, the head of the Aleppo Doctors Syndicate, told Reuters news agency that it was the first gas attack against civilians in the city since the start of the conflict in 2011.

But Abdel-Salam Abdel-Razak, an official from the Nour al-Din al-Zinki, an influential jihadist group in the area, dismissed the reports as "purely a lie", Reuters news agency reported.

Western countries and the UN have accused government forces of using chemical and nerve agents on numerous occasions since the start of the civil war.

There has been no major offensive in northern Syria since September, when Russia and Turkey agreed to create a buffer zone to separate government forces from rebel fighters in Idlib province.

There are literally dozens of prophecies by Saints, Beati and Venerable over centuries that say the Minor Chastisement (followed by the era of peace) will start with a civil war in France. Could this dispute over the relatively minor matter of fuel prices be the beginning of the road to that civil war? The far left in France will join any protest and turn it to violence and won't be satisfied until they get their very own version of Pol Pot.

  16. AP Exclusive: First gene-edited babies claimed in China

HONG KONG (AP) — A Chinese researcher claims that he helped make the world’s first genetically edited babies — twin girls born this month whose DNA he said he altered with a powerful new tool capable of rewriting the very blueprint of life.

If true, it would be a profound leap of science and ethics.

A U.S. scientist said he took part in the work in China, but this kind of gene editing is banned in the United States because the DNA changes can pass to future generations and it risks harming other genes.

Many mainstream scientists think it’s too unsafe to try, and some denounced the Chinese report as human experimentation.

The researcher, He Jiankui of Shenzhen, said he altered embryos for seven couples during fertility treatments, with one pregnancy resulting thus far. He said his goal was not to cure or prevent an inherited disease, but to try to bestow a trait that few people naturally have — an ability to resist possible future infection with HIV, the AIDS virus.

Trailing Badly In Polls, Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko To Impose Martial Law, Likely Canceling Election
After a Russian attack on Ukrainian navy ships, the country's president Petro Poroshenko and parliament will declare martial law in the country on Monday, reports from the region say.

Hours after Russian forces fired on three Ukrainian naval vessels injuring a number of Ukraine troops, as the BBC reported, the country’s president Petrov Poroshenko told the Ukraine parliament that he wants approval to declare martial law in the country — a move that could lead to canceling or postponing the presidential election scheduled for March of 2019.

Ukraine’s Navy said that six of its sailors were wounded in a gun battle with Russian forces, according to information provided via Twitter by journalist Christopher Miller, who covers the region.

According to a Twitter post by Ukraine’s public broadcaster Hromadske.UA, an imposition of martial law in the country would last through January at least, and would cause the March elections to be postponed. The martial law decree would include a ban on political activities, meaning that candidates would be unable to register for the elections.

Though the martial law move comes in response to the clash with Russian forces off the Crimean Peninsula on Sunday, it also would occur at a politically convenient time for Poroshenko, whose popularity with Ukrainian voters has cratered. According to the Kiev Post, almost 50 percent of all Ukrainians say that under no circumstances will they vote for Poroshenko, a 53-year-old Ukrainian billionaire oligarch who took office following the ouster of Russia-backed President Viktor Yanukovich in a 2014 popular uprising, as the Inquisitr reported

The leading candidate expected to run against Poroshenko, Yulia Timoshenko, was jailed by Yanukovich’s government in 2011, after she was convicted of abusing her power as Ukraine premier. But the European human rights court found that, in fact, she was imprisoned for purely political reasons, because she was a leader of Ukraine’s pro-democracy movement and a top political challenger to Yanukovich, according to the Guardian.

Timoshenko remains highly popular in Ukraine, with 20 percent of the country’s voters saying that with four months to go before the election, they have already made up their minds to vote for her, according to last week’s poll conducted by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology, the Razumkov Center, and the Rating Group.

In another poll released on November 22, according to the French Press Agency, a whopping 81 percent of Ukrainians said that they do not support Poroshenko — a level of unpopularity exceeded only by Ukraine’s parliament itself, which registered a dismal 86.8 disapproval rating in the poll run by Sociopolis Institute of Social Technologies.

Why Poroshenko has proposed a nationwide state of martial law in response to naval incident remains unclear. In addition to possibly canceling the presidential election, under martial law Poroshenko’s government would have the ability to “require people capable of working to do ‘socially necessary work’ for the state,” as the government “can take control of private, communal, or state company property for the needs of the state,” according to a Post report. “A ban on peaceful gatherings, protests, marches, and other mass events,” is also part of a martial law decree.

Former Vice President Joe Biden made a surprise appearance at this year’s Athenagoras Human Rights Award Banquet to honor its recipients, Father Alexander and Presbytera Xanthi Karloutsos. Biden, who served two terms under President Barack Obama, originally said because of his tight schedule he would not be able to attend, but at the last minute he squeezed in a surprise appearance and said it was a special honor to be at the banquet.

The former Vice President singled out His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew for particular praise, noting that “one of my greatest honors of my life” was meeting the Ecumenical Patriarch several times including in America, Greece and Turkey.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, said Biden, is the “most Christ-like figure I have ever met.” Biden added: “I’ve never met anyone like His All-Holiness. He radiates grace, conviction, and faith in every movement – even,” Biden added with a chuckle, “even when he and I were stuck in a very small, broken-down elevator in Athens last year.”

Biden expressed support for the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s decision to grant autocephaly to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, “because people in every part of the world should be free to worship as they choose, and it falls to us to protect that freedom.”

Said Biden: “We have to continue to work together around the world to ensure the Greek Orthodox Church can not only control its destiny, but be free of the influence of governments.”

Biden also emphasized that the holiest Orthodox sites in Turkey need to be protected, as well as Muslim communities in Greece, adding that “protecting freedom of religion and universal rights never ends.”

Biden also praised the Greek Orthodox Church in America: “You have an unmatched ability to bring communities together around issues of critical importance to the Church, to our communities, to our nation. You have the universal respect among all our political leaders of both parties.”

The top three greatest honors that he had received during his lifetime, Biden said, were the Medal of Freedom, the Martin Luther King Library Award, and the Athenagoras Human Rights Awards from the Archons in 2015, saying it was “an honor that I do not deserve but that I treasure.” Biden added that “the Greek community has meant so much in my life” and praised the Archons for having “taught my son Hunter and me so much over the years.”

Biden, his voice breaking, recounted the prayers and support that Father Alex and Prebytera Xanthi offered to the Biden family during the illness and death of Biden’s son Beau. “Your family is family to the Biden family,” said Biden. “Your decency, loyalty and love will always be remembered. Your prayers meant so much to the Bidens at the death of Beau,” who died of brain cancer in 2015 at the age of 46.

Biden, a Roman Catholic, ended his comments on a humorous note by pointing out that earlier in the evening he had made his cross the wrong way and so did it again, the Orthodox way.

  19. Another mechanism for separating creation (and its responsibilities) from its True Creator.....making it dependent (in its own mind) on how defective humans with certain "talents" can remedy desired imagined futures.

Lulu and Nana: First genetically modified babies born in China, researcher says

    ........
It will be years, perhaps a decade at least, before Lulu and Nana can begin to understand how they are different from the rest of us. Born this month in China, the twin girls are said to carry genes -- strands of DNA code -- that were altered for HIV-immunity with an "editing" tool when they were still single-cell embryos not yet inside their mother's womb.

At least that's what He Jiankui, one of the researchers involved, says. The Associated Press (AP), which first reported his claims, says there is no independent confirmation yet. But if He Jiankui has done what he says he has, an MIT publication opines, he's scripted a "stunning medical achievement".

How were Lulu's and Nana's genes modified? The inner life of cells is difficult to explain without jargon, but He Jiankui (himself a father of two girls) does a fairly commendable job. He said an egg from the twins' mother, Grace, was fertilised artificially with sperm from their HIV-positive dad. Along with the sperm, He's team "also sent in a little bit of protein and instructions for a gene surgery," one that "removed the doorway through which HIV enters to infect people". A test conducted before the embryos were implanted inside their mother showed the procedure had "worked safely, just as intended".

    .....
People with one copy of the gene can get HIV, but very limited research suggests their health might decline more slowly once they do.

Two genetics experts have questioned the decision to allow one of the embryos to be used in a pregnancy attempt, because the researchers said they knew in advance that both copies of the intended gene had not been altered.
But even if editing worked perfectly, people without normal CCR5 genes face higher risks of infection by other viruses such as West Nile, and of dying from the flu. Since there are many ways to prevent HIV infection and it's very treatable if it occurs, those other medical risks are a concern, said Kiran Musunuru, a University of Pennsylvania gene editing expert.

    ............
He Jiankui knows his work is controversial, and admits as much. "But I believe families need this technology and I'm willing to take the criticism for them," he said.

What about fears about "designer" babies? "Gene surgery is and should remain a technology for healing," He Jiankui explained. "Enhancing IQ or selecting hair or eye colour is not what a loving parent does."

    "That should be banned."

ISTANBUL - George Soros's Open Society Foundation said on Monday it would cease operations in Turkey, days after President Tayyip Erdogan accused the billionaire philanthropist of trying to divide and destroy nations.

The foundation said it had been the target of "baseless claims" in the Turkish media, which made it impossible for it to continue its work.

It also faced an investigation by the Interior Ministry which sought to demonstrate a link, which it denied, between the foundation and protests at Istanbul's Gezi Park in 2013.

One of its founders in Turkey, Hakan Altinay, was among 13 people detained 10 days ago. They were accused of supporting jailed rights activist Osman Kavala in a bid to overthrow the government through mass protests.

In a speech last week, Erdogan linked those arrests to Soros
. "The person (Kavala) who financed terrorists during the Gezi incidents, is already in prison," he told a meeting of local administrators.

"And who is behind him? The famous Hungarian Jew Soros. This is a man who assigns people to divide nations and shatter them. He has so much money and he spends it this way."

The foundation said that "new investigations" were trying to link it to the Gezi protests five years ago. "These efforts are not new and they are outside reality," it said

The foundation said it would apply for the legal liquidation and winding up of the company's operations as soon as possible.
