The Church (pre church of "nice"--the realChurch) has always taught us to remember this. The saints have always said this. The modernist' s great delusion is that we are in control.

Soneone upstairs must be reading the forum posts. From today's reading at mass. James 4:13-17 13Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and get gain"; 14whereas you do not know about tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. 15Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and we shall do this or that." 16As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. 17Whoever knows what is right to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
There are some interesting articles in that World Bulletin. It has the appearance of a news outlet with plenty of financial backing. I wonder who owns it. I watched some of the Senate questioning of Haspel. When Feinstein mentioned that they were friends and then asked a question based on misinformation which Haspel had no problem refuting, I didn't bother watching any more of it because I suspected that the Democrats were putting on a show for the benefit of Bernie Sanders supporters in their party. I don't know how Feinstein voted in the end but I got the impression that she would ensure enough Democrat votes to get Haspel through.
MH17: Russia 'liable' for downing airliner over Ukraine 25 May 2018 http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-44252150 Related Topics MH17 plane crash Image copyright AFP The remains of the Boeing 777, photographed at its crash site in 2014 Australia and the Netherlands say they are holding Russia responsible for downing a Malaysia Airlines passenger jet in 2014. All 298 people on board MH17, which was en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, died when it was shot down over rebel-held territory in Ukraine. On Thursday, Dutch-led international investigators concluded that the missile belonged to a Russian brigade. Russia has denied any involvement in the plane's destruction. Moscow's defence ministry said it "rejects the version of the Dutch investigators". It has previously insisted that none of its weapons were used to bring down MH17. The team of international investigators, however, found that "all the vehicles in a convoy carrying the missile were part of the Russian armed forces". It was fired from rebel-held territory in eastern Ukraine. When it hit the Malaysia Airlines plane, it killed 193 Dutch nationals, 43 people from Malaysia, and 27 from Australia. Other victims came from countries including Indonesia, the UK, Belgium, Germany and the Philippines. MH17 crash: The 298 who perished What is Russia being accused of? The Netherlands and Australia say it violated international law. The decision was announced in a statement from the Dutch government and by Australia's foreign minister Julie Bishop. "On the basis of the [joint international team's] conclusions, the Netherlands and Australia are now convinced that Russia is responsible for the deployment of the Buk installation that was used to down MH17," Dutch foreign minister Stef Blok said. "The government is now taking the next step by formally holding Russia accountable." MH17 missile 'owned by Russian brigade' The statement added, however, that holding a nation state responsible for a breach of international law would involve "a complex legal process". "We call on Russia to accept its responsibility and cooperate fully with the process to establish the truth and achieve justice for the victims of flight MH17 and their next of kin," Mr Blok said. On the Australian side, Ms Bishop wrote: "The only conclusion we can reasonably now draw is that Russia was directly involved in the downing of MH17."= Image copyright Reuters A damaged missile is shown by the joint investigators at a press conference on Thursday Australia and the Netherlands have asked Russia to enter talks as a first step, but held out the prospect of taking the case to an international court. The EU, US, Nato and the UK added their own calls for Russia to accept responsibility for the incident. Analysis: No easy options Dr Sergey Vasiliev, Assistant Professor of Public International Law, Leiden University There are several legal routes and steps the Dutch and Australian governments could take - but none are going to be easy. The first would be to try and negotiate a solution diplomatically, which could take the form of an acknowledgment of responsibility and apology, full inquiry and disclosure, domestic criminal proceedings against those responsible, and compensation to the families of victims. This is a preferable, quicker, option - but Russia will most likely continue denying its involvement in, and responsibility for, the downing of MH17 considering its conduct during the almost four years since. Admitting responsibility would make denying support of rebels in the region impossible. For similar reasons, any other modalities of dispute settlement which would require Russia's consent have zero prospect of success. The Netherlands and Australia could then resort to the more formal means of dispute settlement, such as initiating a case against Russia before the International Court of Justice, although jurisdictional bases for the potential case are quite narrow and limited to civil aviation conventions to which both applicant and respondent states are parties. The Netherlands could also file an inter-state application with the European Court of Human Rights against Russia. But whatever legal avenue is taken, a shorter path to accountability would seem rather to lie in the political domain. What did the investigation find? Investigators said the plane was downed by a Russian-made Buk missile, supplied by the country's 53rd anti-aircraft brigade in Kursk. Flight MH17 left Amsterdam on 17 July 2014, at a time when conflict between pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian forces was at its peak. MH17's high-altitude flight path was thought to be safe, despite warnings about the rebels' missile capability. Investigators said they had evidence of the route taken by a Russian missile convoy Some 50km (30 miles) from the border between Russia and Ukraine, air traffic control lost contact with MH17. It soon emerged that it had crashed in the Donetsk area - controlled by pro-Russian forces. Early on in the probe, investigators concluded that a missile exploded extremely close to the passenger plane's nose, puncturing the hull with shrapnel. What does Russia say? Russia has always insisted it played no part whatsoever in the downing of MH17. "Not a single anti-aircraft missile system from the Russian Federation has ever crossed the Russia-Ukraine border," the defence ministry in Moscow said on Thursday. But both Ukrainian and US intelligence sources believe the Buk missile system involved was sent into rebel territory by Russia and then moved out again. On Friday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the Dutch investigation did not include any Russian participation, but did include Ukrainian representatives. "Obviously as we did not have the chance to be a full participant, we don't know how far we can believe the result," he said. And Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who said he had spoken to his Dutch counterpart, drew parallels with the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal in the UK. "It looks much like the Skripal affair when they said that it was 'highly likely' done by Russians but Scotland Yard immediately said that the investigation is ongoing and will take some time," he told reporters. "If our partners [an apparent reference to the Netherlands] decided even in this case of a greatest human tragedy, the death of hundreds of people, to speculate on it for achieving their political goals, I leave it on their conscience." Russia had previously blamed a Ukrainian military pilot, Capt Vladyslav Voloshyn, who had flown a series of missions against the Russian-backed separatists. Capt Voloshyn apparently killed himself in March.
This “investigation” by the Netherlands was never credible because it never accepted any data from the Russians. It concluded Russia was the guilty party before any real investigation began. Everyone of the “conclusions” of the Fake Netherlands investigation has already been refuted years ago. It was a political investigation manipulated by the West from day one. The Ukrainian pilot that you mentioned committed suicide probably was murdered by the Ukrainian authorities because he knew the truth. The Russian Defense Ministry had his plane on radar approaching MH17 in an aggressive manner and his Su-25 was outfitted to carry the Python missile mentioned in the report below. The best analysis into what really happened to MH17 was the report released on the LiveJournal account of Albert Naryshkin: “The authors of the investigative report have calculated the possible detonation initiation point of the missile that hit the passenger aircraft and approximate number and weight of strike elements, which in turn designated the type and presumed manufacturer of the weapon. The aircraft disintegrated in the air and the debris of MH17 were scattered across an area of about 50 sq. km. The external view of MH17 hull pieces indicates that “fragments of the pilots’ cockpit have suffered specific damages in the form of localized puncture holes and surface dents typical for hypervelocity impacts with compact and hard objects,” the report says, stressing that similar damage could be found on the inner side of the cockpit. The report specifically points out that chips of the body coat around the holes in the fragment are typical of wave effects created by hypervelocity impacts. ©http://albert-lex.livejournal.com Some damage, though larger and less clustered, could be found near the air-scoop of the left-wing engine of the aircraft. The nature of the damage allows for the identification of the source as a high-explosive fragmentation warhead from a modern anti-aircraft weapon, claims the report. Apart from the large puncture holes, the debris of the nose and the cockpit of the aircraft bear a large number of scattered micro-craters resulting from the impact of high-velocity dust and tiny debris, such as an unburnt blasting agent and elements of the ordnance that accompany a shock wave from a blast that occurred very close to the target. In the case of MH17, the pilots’ cockpit. The report says that as a rule, the initial speed of the striking elements of modern anti-aircraft weapons vary between 1,500 and 2,500 meters per second. ©http://albert-lex.livejournal.com Altogether, the experts considered photos of five fragments of the cockpit and left port of the flight MH17, on which they counted some 230 “battle-damage” holes and punctures. All this considered, the experts claim that the exact zone of the blast impact could be established with a fair degree of accuracy. The warhead of the missile exploded very close to the cockpit, to its left side at a distance of 0.8-1.6 meters from the cockpit windows, exactly opposite the sliding window of the aircraft commander. ©http://albert-lex.livejournal.com The dimensions and character of the puncture holes left by the strike elements allegedly allow their size and form factor to be established, which in its turn makes it possible to identify the type of weapon used in a particular case. The cross dimension of absolute majority, 86 percent, of the 186 hull holes studied by experts measure between 6 and 13mm, with explicit maximum of them having cross dimension of 8mm. ©http://albert-lex.livejournal.com This fact brought the expert group to a conclusion about the size of the strike elements of the warhead. If the warhead had been armed with two types of strike elements, the majority of the holes would have been of two types, the reports notes. The strike element has been established of being a rectangular block measured 8mm x 8mm x 6mm, with margin of error of 0.5 mm, a high probability it was made of steel and an estimated weight of 3 grams each. The total number of such elements should have varied between 2,000 and 4,000. The bulk of the strike elements are estimated between 4.88 – 14.8 kilograms. @ http://albert-lex.livejournal.com The report confutes the argument of Russia’s Almaz-Antey military concern that early claimed that “intricate shape” double-t steel fragments, similar to those used in warheads of surface-to-air Buk missile systems, have been extracted from the debris of MH17 flight. Howwever, the double-t strike elements of a Buk missile weigh 8.1 grams, more than twice as much as a single damage fragment among those that pierced MH17’s hull. Thus, according to the report, the hypothesis about a Buk missile system being involved in the crash is “most probably incorrect.” With 95 percent probability, the group of experts estimates the weight of the missile’s warhead (explosives plus strike elements) that shot down MH17 of being between 10 and 40kg. ©http://albert-lex.livejournal.com This led the experts to determine the exact type of the weapon used against Malaysian Airlines flight MH17. The report says that that Soviet- and Russian-made surface-to-air missile systems use more powerful warheads than the established maximum 40kg, as is the case with MH17. Moreover, Soviet- and Russian-made air-to-air missiles which have a similar 10-40kg warhead capability use other types of strike elements within one warhead - obviously not the case with MH17. A whole range of existing foreign air-to-air missiles have corresponding warhead characteristics, yet lack of physical elements of the missile used against MH17 prevented experts from establishing the exact type of the weapon used. Still, the circumstances and conditions of the assault allowed experts to make certain assumptions. ©http://albert-lex.livejournal.com The missile that attacked MH17 had a passive radar homing head, which explains why the missile exploded so close to the cockpit. Under the radar-transparent nosecone of a Boeing 777-200 there is a surveillance radar station operable during the flight, so most likely the missile homed on to this radar as the target. Apart from a radar homing head, the missile could also be equipped with an advanced, matrix type, imaging IR seeker, which enables the missile to determine the size and the type of the target and choose for attack its most vital element. For a huge Boeing aircraft, that’s the cockpit. A simulation of the missile attack has proved that missiles with that type of guidance choose to attack a big passenger plane from the front hemisphere. There are four air-to-air missiles that fit the description established by the experts, namely: French Magis-2, Israeli Shafrir, American AIM-9 and Israeli Python – all short-range. The first three have been struck off the list for various reasons, including type of warhead or guidance system specifications. The Python deserved a closer look. The Python is equipped with a matrix-imaging IR seeker. It enables a relatively moderate power warhead to effectively engage big aircrafts. The warhead is armed with a set of ready strike elements. Even more importantly, some open military sources suggest that in early 2000s a number of Sukhoi Su-25 assault fighter jets we refurbished to use fourth and fifth generation Python missiles, which look very similar to the Su-25’s standard air-to-air R-60 missile. @ http://albert-lex.livejournal.com
Russia hacks 500,000 routers in attempt to attack Ukraine by Chris Ciaccia May 25, 2018 http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2018/05/24/russia-hacks-500000-routers-in-attempt-to-attack-ukraine.html Cisco, which makes switches, routers and a host of other tech equipment, said the campaign is similar to other attacks the U.S. government has associated with the Kremlin. iStock Cisco's Talos cyberintelligence unit warned that it has a high level of confidence the Russian government has hacked at least 500,000 routers and storage devices in an attempt to cause another enormous cyberattack on Ukraine. Cisco, which makes switches, routers and a host of other tech equipment, said the campaign, known as VPNFilter, is similar to other attacks the U.S. government has associated with the Russian government, giving them confidence that Moscow is behind this latest attempt. "In particular, the code of this malware overlaps with versions of the BlackEnergy malware — which was responsible for multiple large-scale attacks that targeted devices in Ukraine," Talos said in a post on its website***. HOW TO PROTECT YOUR ROUTER FROM RUSSIAN HACKERS Talos continued: "While this isn't definitive by any means, we have also observed VPNFilter, a potentially destructive malware, actively infecting Ukrainian hosts at an alarming rate, utilizing a command and control (C2) infrastructure dedicated to that country. Weighing these factors together, we felt it was best to publish our findings so far prior to completing our research." Cisco researcher Craig Williams told Reuters: "With a network like this you could do anything." "Working with our partners, we estimate the number of infected devices to be at least 500,000 in at least 54 countries," Talos added in the post. "The known devices affected by VPNFilter are Linksys, MikroTik, NETGEAR and TP-Link networking equipment in the small and home office (SOHO) space, as well at QNAP network-attached storage (NAS) devices." QNAP issued a statement concerning the claim that QNAP NAS is prone to malware infections due to VPNFilter, noting it has been aware of the issue for some time and has already addressed it. "QNAP has been aware of the presence of VPNFilter since 2017 - and has addressed the issue with updates to the QTS operating system and the QNAP NAS Malware Remover application," QNAP said in the statement. "This solution has been in place since mid-2017. The QNAP Security Response Team continuously investigates all security threats and releases updates as necessary to safeguard QNAP NAS users from the impact of malware and attacks." Reuters added that the U.S. government would try to wrestle control of the infected routers after a Pennsylvania federal judge gave the FBI permission to seize an internet domain linked to the Russian hacking group known as Sofacy*. “This operation is the first step in the disruption of a botnet that provides the Sofacy* actors with an array of capabilities that could be used for a variety of malicious purposes, including intelligence gathering, theft of valuable information, destructive or disruptive attacks, and the misattribution of such activities,” Assistant Attorney General for National Security John Demers said in a statement obtained by Reuters. Russia planning major cyberattack in Ukraine, may target Champions League final, police chief says by Travis Fedschum May 24, 2018 http://www.foxnews.com/world/2018/0...champions-league-final-police-chief-says.html Russia blamed for escalating cyber attacks Report: Russian hackers infecting network devices to prepare for possible cyberwar. Catherine Herridge has the details. The Russian government is preparing a major cyberattack aimed at causing chaos in Ukraine, possibly during the Champions League final on Saturday, security officials in Kiev warned on Wednesday. Ukraine's cyberpolice said in a statement that it was possible the hackers planned to strike during "large-scale events," an apparent reference either to the upcoming Champions League game between Real Madrid and Liverpool in the capital, Kiev, or to Ukraine's upcoming Constitution Day celebrations. "At the moment, we are doing everything within our competence to protect citizens and the state sector from possible cyber threats," Ukraine cyber police chief Sergey Demedyuk said. "I do not rule out that this time the intruders had the purpose to destabilize the situation in the country with the help of a virus attack precisely during the period of large-scale events in Ukraine." The logo of the Champions League Final is seen at the Independence Square in Kiev, Ukraine, May 10, 2018. Picture taken May 10, 2018. REUTERS Valentyn Ogirenko The warning came the same day that network technology company Cisco Systems and antivirus company Symantec disclosed*** that a half-million internet-connected routers had been compromised in a possible effort to lay the groundwork for a cyber-sabotage operation against targets in Ukraine. "Both the scale and the capability of this operation are concerning," said a statement from Talos Intelligence, the security arm of Cisco. "Working with our partners, we estimate the number of infected devices to be at least 500,000 in at least 54 countries." Talos said it was releasing the information before its investigations are complete because of the urgency in preventing the cyberattack. A representative from Cisco told Sky News that the United Kingdom is among the countries affected by the malware, but the primary targeted for the hacking campaign appears to be Ukraine. The malware, which has been called VPNFilter by Cisco, could be used for espionage as well as to destroy the devices that it has infected. FEDS: RUSSIAN CYBER SPIES EXPLOITING UNPATCHED ROUTERS The FBI recently seized a key website that communicated with the massive army of hijacked devices, according to court documents obtained by the Associated Press. Officials hope the seizure disrupted an ambitious cyberattack by the Russian government-aligned hacking group widely known as Fancy Bear**. Members of the Ukrainian National Police take part in a security exercise during preparations for the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool outside the NSC Olympic stadium in Kiev, Ukraine May 15, 2018. REUTERS Valentyn Ogirenko "I hope it catches the actors off guard and leads to the downfall of their network," Craig Williams, the director of outreach for Talos, told the AP. Williams warned the hackers could still regain control of the infected routers if they possessed their addresses and the right resources to re-establish command and control. "It could be a significant threat to users around the world," he said. Ukraine has been locked in a years-long struggle with Russia-backed separatists in the country's eastern border and has repeatedly been hit by cyberattacks of escalating severity. Last year witnessed the eruption of the NotPetya worm, which crippled critical systems, including hospitals, across the country and dealt hundreds of millions of dollars in collateral damage around the globe. Ukraine, the United States and Britain have blamed the attack on Moscow — a charge Russia has denied. Cisco and Symantec both steered clear of attributing the VPNFilter malware to any particular actor, but an FBI affidavit explicitly attributed it to Fancy Bear**, the same group that hacked into the Democratic National Committee in 2016 and has been linked to a long series of digital intrusions stretching back more than a decade. The U.S. intelligence community assesses that Fancy Bear** acts on behalf of Russia's military intelligence service. The AP contributed. **** Here is a Wikipedia page about the cyber espionage group Fancy Bear** also known as Sofacy Group*, APT28, Pawn Storm, Sednit and STRONTIUM. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fancy_Bear
“High confidence.” “Is similar.” Notice that the Deep State is very careful with their wording. Sort of like the “highly likely” narrative the Brits pushed over the now exposed Skripal narrative. I guess the Deep State just expects us to take their word as Gospel in their ongoing demonization campaign of Putin and Russia. After all, they told us Russia hacked our election and hacked the DNC, so it must be true. LOL!
R., That is an interesting theory that you offer about the death of the Ukrainian pilot who Russia blamed for the downing of this passenger jet- MH17 but maybe his family (his adoring wife, little boy and 2 year old girl) was threatened by Russia if he did not take his own life. An article about his death states that some people thought that he showed signs of depression and others did not, in fact, he was considered to be a war hero in his country. In addition, this Ukrainian pilot, Capt Vladyslav Voloshyn, called the Russian allegation a lie and his alleged suicide is still 'being investigated under the "premeditated murder" section of Ukraine's penal code.' This is also from the following article dated 3/19/2018 http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-43457694, After pro-Russian rebels launched their insurgency in April 2014 several Ukrainian jets were shot down by them, yet many international airlines continued flying over the conflict zone. MH17's high-altitude flight path was thought to be safe, despite warnings about the rebels' missile capability. Russian officials not only alleged that Voloshyn's plane had shot down MH17. According to another Russian theory, it was a Ukrainian military Buk missile - no longer in service in Russia - that downed the airliner. Independent experts - besides the Dutch-led team - rejected the Russian claims, saying the evidence pointed to a Buk fired by pro-Russian rebels or a Russian military unit... Here are two other related stories about the MH17 disaster. The first one offers some other theories like you have in your post, Conspiracy Files: Who shot down MH17? Flight MH17: Russia and its changing story
Here is more information about the investigation and their findings to date, Update in criminal investigation MH17 disaster 24-05-2018 https://www.politie.nl/en/news/2018/mei/24/update-in-criminal-investigation-mh17disaster.html The Netherlands - This morning, the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), which investigates the MH 17 crash on 17 July 2014, gave an update of the state of affairs in the criminal investigation. During the meeting for both the national and international press in Bunnik (province of Utrecht), various findings of the investigation were presented. Relatives of the passengers who died in the disaster could follow the presentation through livestream. Because the findings lead to new questions, the JIT makes an appeal to insiders and eyewitnesses who may be able to tell more about the events on and around the downing of flight MH17. The 53rd brigade The JIT is convinced that the BUK TELAR that was used to down MH17, originates from the 53rd Anti Aircraft Missile brigade (hereinafter 53rd brigade), a unit of the Russian army from Kursk in the Russian Federation. The JIT reached this conclusion after extensive comparative research. During today’s meeting, an animation of this comparative research was shown. Several images of the BUK TELAR with which MH17 was downed are available. Analysis of those produces a number of characteristics. The combination of those is so special that that can be considered as a fingerprint. This fingerprint has been compared with numerous images of BUK TELARS, both Ukrainian and Russian ones. The only BUK TELAR on which this combination of characteristics also was found, is a BUK TELAR that was recorded several times when it joined a convoy of the 53rd brigade on 23 – 25 June 2014. Consequently, the JIT presumes that within the 53rd brigade and within the circle around it, people have knowledge about the operation in which that particular BUK TELAR was deployed and about the persons that were involved in it. Therefore, the JIT calls on insiders and eyewitnesses to share their information with the investigation team. Also information about the instruction of the BUK TELAR’s crew matters greatly for the criminal investigation. The head of the National Investigation Service of the Dutch police, Wilbert Paulissen: “Who formed part of the crew? With which instruction did they set out? Who was responsible for the operational deployment of this BUK TELAR on 17 July 2014? We are convinced that many people have this information. That may be members of the 53rd Brigade, but also relatives, friends or acquaintances. And even people who have nothing to do with the 53rd Brigade. Please do not keep that information to yourself but contact the JIT. Our investigators can speak with you in several languages, among which Russian and Ukrainian.” All information and informants are treated with the highest confidentiality. For more information and contact data see: www.jitmh17.com. Venturi and ‘casing’ Already in September 2016, the JIT disclosed that MH17 was downed with a BUK missile of the 9M38 series. In Eastern Ukraine, two parts of such a missile were found. These parts are the so-called ‘venturi’ and the ‘casing’, which were exhibited today during the meeting. This regards on the one hand the exhaust of the missile (venturi) and on the other hand the casing of the missile engine (casing). The missile engine’s casing shows the number 9 д 1318869032. The JIT-investigation up to now indicates the following meaning of this number. 9д 131 relates to the number of the missile engine of the 9M38 type and/or 9M38M1 type. The number 8 is the manufacturer’s code, namely: the Dolgoprudny Research and Manufacturing Enterprise in Moscow. The number 86 indicates the year of production, namely 1986. And the number 9032 is the unique identification number of this specific missile engine. The JIT has established that this involves a missile of the 9M38 Buk-series. To what extent both parts belong to the missile that was launched by the BUK TELAR of the 53rd brigade can, as yet, not be said with certainty. Jennifer Hurst, Commander of the Australian Federal Police, explained, on the basis of an animation that the JIT urges the public to think about answering three specific questions about both rocket components found on the crash site. Do you recognize the handwriting of the number on the venturi? Do you have information about the numbers on the venturi and the casing? Or do you know anyone who knows about the meaning of those numbers? Are you or do you know someone with information about the missile in which these parts have been placed and to which unit this missile was delivered? Hurst: “If you have an answer to one or more of these questions, then we urgently ask you to contact the JIT.” Progress The criminal investigation is a large and complex investigation that steadily progresses. Independence, care and professionality are of paramount importance here. Chief public prosecutor from the National Public Prosecution Service Fred Westerbeke emphasized during the meeting that ‘though the circumstances and the complexity of the investigation make it a difficult task, substantial progress has been made during this last period’. Among other things, in the identification of those directly involved. Westerbeke: “On 28 September 2016 we reported about a group of approximately 100 people, who in one way or another can be associated with the downing of flight MH17. In this field, big steps have been made. By now, the role of a large number of them is much clearer. It can damage the investigation and the ultimate legal procedure if we make it clear to those responsible for this event – and those further involved – how much we know exactly. Therefore you will understand that the courtroom pre-eminently is the place where the Public Prosecution Service speaks out about the accusation of – and the burden of proof against – individual persons. Subsequently it is to the court to pass judgement about that.” During the meeting today, the JIT presented their conclusion that the BUK TELAR with which flight MH17 was downed, originates from the 53rd Anti Aircraft Missile Brigade of the Russian army. That conclusion raises questions, such as the question to what extent the relevant Brigade itself was actively involved in the downing of flight MH17 on 17 July 2014. An important question, into which the JIT is still investigating. The authorities of the Russian Federation have, up to now, not reported to the JIT that a BUK of the 53rd Brigade was deployed in Eastern Ukraine and that this BUK downed flight MH17. On 15 October 2014 the JIT already asked the Russian authorities to provide the JIT (in line with resolution 2166 of the UN Security Council) with all information that may be important for establishing the truth. Because the JIT no longer wants to exclusively turn to the Russian authorities to obtain information about this subject, the JIT also calls in the assistance from the public today – through the media – to answer questions that relate to the control of and the use of the BUK TELAR, as well as about the missile that was launched with that TELAR. JIT In the JIT Australia, Belgium, Ukraine, Malaysia and the Netherlands are working together. The criminal investigation focusses on truth finding and its ultimate goal is tracing and prosecuting the perpetrators of the downing of flight MH17 in the Ukraine on the 17th of July 2014. The victims of this disaster are natives of many countries, the so called ‘grieving nations’. With intervention of Eurojust the authorities of these ‘grieving nations’ are informed about the progress of the criminal investigation.
Poland blames Jews for the crimes of Communism THE FRONTLINES are being drawn in eastern Europe's latest conflict. This is a battle not over territory or borders, but for control of something more intangible and, for the continent's political health, more important: memory and historical justice. This year marks 10 years since the collapse of the Berlin Wall, which triggered the end of the Soviet bloc and, ultimately, the Soviet Union itself. A decade after those first slabs of masonry came crashing down, the noise reverberates still across the lands where the Red Star of Russia once ruled unchallenged. For nations, like people, suffer from the traumas that twist and shape their psyche: traumas of war and occupation, resistance and collaboration with dictatorships, Nazi or Soviet. It is perhaps difficult for citizens of Britain, a country that has not been occupied for centuries, to imagine the mental scars left by Nazi and Soviet occupation and the choices of collaboration and compromise demanded by a reign of terror. Now officials are grappling with the question of how to bring to account those Communist officials who organised systematic human rights abuses including judicially-sanctioned torture and murder. Polish officials are now seeking the extradition of two alleged Communist- era criminals: Helena Brus, a former military prosecutor, now living in Oxford, and Salomon Morel, one-time commander of a Soviet detention camp, now living in Tel Aviv. "This is payback time for the Stalinist period. The same excuses were given by Nazi war criminals. They said they were innocent because they were just following orders," said Zbigniew Wolak, veteran in the Polish Home Army, many of whose comrades were killed or imprisoned on their return to post-war Communist Poland by the Soviets and their local supporters. "You cannot punish the hundreds of thousands of people who were involved, but you can bring to justice those who were prominent. This is a battle for the memory of future generations. Either they will know the truth or it will be hidden." But who to bring to justice, when the very nature of a totalitarian regime means that almost every citizen was, by their complicity in its demands, implicated to a greater or lesser degree, in its continuance? Perfectly preserved for decades in the vaults of national memory, these events are now rising to the surface of the consciousness of nations such as Poland, triggering a spate of attempts by legal officials to win what they believe is belated justice, but what others call veng-eance - a vengeance forged on the anvil of ancient prejudices. The attempt by Polish authorities to force the extradition of Helena Brus, a former Stalinist-era military prosecutor in 1950s Warsaw, from Britain, has highlighted an issue that is set to haunt the new democracies of post-Communist eastern Europe for years to come. Last week, Poland's Supreme Court quashed an arrest warrant for Mrs Brus, formerly Wolinska. Now married to an Oxford don, Wlodzimierz Brus, fellow of Wolfson College, Mrs Brus was accused of issuing an illegal arrest warrant for General August Emil Fieldorf, a leader of the Polish Home Army, who was hanged in 1953. Her case is likely to go to appeal. Salomon Morel is wanted by the prosecutor in the southern Polish city of Katowice, charged with crimes against humanity while he was commander of Swietochlowice camp. More than 3,000 prisoners, mainly Germans, were held at the camp during 1945; more than half died or were murdered, according to the Polish news agency. Israel has refused his extradition, saying that the crimes with which he is charged are not seen there as genocide, and so are subject to statutes of limitations. Dorota Boriczek, now 68 and living in Ludwigsberg, Germany, was taken to Swietochlowice when she was 14, with her mother. Morel was a cruel and barbaric man, she said. "He was young and very brutal. He came in at night, we could hear the cries of the men as they were beaten, then they threw the bodies out." Two straightforward cases, then, of two aged, alleged criminals, with blood on their hands, either directly or indirectly, finally being called to account. Except that these cases are anything but straightforward. Both Mr Brus and Mr Morel are Jewish, Holocaust survivors who lost many in their families to the Nazis. However bloody their hands seem, they were two small cogs in a machine, run by hundreds of thousands of Stalin's willing functionaries. Many of those officials now live peacefully in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. During 1997 and 1998, Poland did not make a single extradition request from these countries for former Communist officials, according to the Polish Ministry of Justice. "The evidence against Salomon Morel is very damaging, but why, of all the commanders of the dozens of camps run by the Soviets, pick on him?" asked Konstanty Gebert, editor of the Warsaw- based Jewish magazine Midrasz. "There are no extradition requests to other countries where former NKVD officers must be living. "The Morel case is very worrying, because when the Poles made the extradition request they must have known that Israel had no legal basis on which to accept it. So either the experts at the Ministry of Justice are incompetent, or this was done to make Israel look bad." For Maria Fieldorf-Czarska, who is daughter of the hanged General Fieldorf and is pressing for Mrs Brus's extradition, Poland has said sorry to Jews too many times. Now it is their turn to apologise to Poland, she claims. Mrs Fieldorf-Czarska, now 73 and living in Gdansk is blunt with her opinions. "The sad truth is that our secret services in the 1950s were dominated by Jews. They were disposed to Communism, perhaps it is genetic. All the people connected with the arrest and prosecution of my father were Jewish, and most of them went to Israel. "Nobody says sorry to us, but nowadays we have to say sorry to Jews all the time. Our government apologised for the Jews killed by the Germans: now Israel should apologise to us." https://www.independent.co.uk/news/poland-blames-jews-for-the-crimes-of-communism-1046216.html

While it is bothersome that sea life is being affected by prescription drugs getting into the ocean, it makes me wonder about the amount of hormones from oral contraceptives in our water supply. It could be especially detrimental to our young boys. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5775827/Scientists-mussels-testing-positive-oxycodone.html
Never extradited. Sad. I wonder if Israel or Britain were ever sanctioned for harboring war criminals the way Russia is currently being sanctioned on a pack of lies?
https://apnews.com/59d4ee7564c54d8d...AP&utm_campaign=SocialFlow&utm_source=Twitter Amazon: Echo device sent conversation to family’s contact SEATTLE (AP) — An “unlikely” string of events prompted Amazon’s Echo personal assistant device to record a Portland, Oregon, family’s private conversation and then send the recording to an acquaintance in Seattle, the company said Thursday. The woman told KIRO-TV that two weeks ago an employee of her husband contacted them to say he thought their device had been hacked. He told them he had received an audio file of them discussing hardwood floors, she said. In a statement Thursday, Amazon confirmed the woman’s private conversation had been inadvertently recorded and sent. The company said the device interpreted a word in the background conversation as “Alexa” — a command that makes it wake up — and then it interpreted the conversation as a “send message” request. “At which point, Alexa said out loud ‘To whom?’” the statement said. “At which point, the background conversation was interpreted as a name in the customers contact list. “Alexa then asked out loud, ‘(contact name), right?’ Alexa then interpreted background conversation as ‘right.’” The statement continued: “As unlikely as this string of events is, we are evaluating options to make this case even less likely.” The woman, who was identified only by her first name in the news report, said every room in her family’s home was wired with the Amazon devices to control her home’s heat, lights and security system. She said the family unplugged the devices and contacted Amazon after they learned the recording had been sent. Ryan Calo, a law professor who co-directs the University of Washington’s tech policy lab, agreed that the sort of glitch Amazon described is unlikely. But it may trouble customers nevertheless, he said “What makes it particularly unfortunate is the sense that Amazon Echo users will have that there’s any prospect that what they say in their private home might end up outside the home,” Calo said. “We feel less reassured about the control we assert over it than we once did. It’s the feeling you have to watch what you say in front of a device that’s supposed to make your life better.”
