Underground shelters to house 12 million people?!? I can't even being fathom how extensive that would be. And meanwhile, here in the U.S., the government creates underground facilities only for elected officials. It kind of puts into perspective the value that our government places on human life.

Additionally, Russian officials have been issuing nuclear threats. “A lot of things they say they are doing relate to nuclear threats and nuclear warfighting,” he said. “Active and passive defense were a major Soviet priority and [current Russian leaders] are Soviets in everything but name.” Russia is engaged in a major buildup of strategic nuclear forces, building new missiles, submarines, and bombers. A State Department report on Russian activities under the New START arms treaty stated in the spring that Moscow added 153 strategic nuclear warheads to its arsenal under the treaty. The increase in warheads is said to be the result of the deployment of new SS-27 Mod 2 intercontinental ballistic missiles with multiple warheads and SS-N-32 submarine-launched missiles. In addition to new missiles, Russia is building a drone submarine, code-named “Kanyon,” which is said to be designed to carry a megaton-class warhead. Moscow also is moving ahead with ahypersonic strike vehicle designed to deliver nuclear warheads through advanced missile defense systems. Military strategy would indicate that, with its geographical convenience, Russia possesses a very great logistic advantage over the US with respect to a conventional war between the two nations, either in Syria or the Ukraine. It would be impossible for the US to deploy anything like enough divisions to cope with the Russian land-forces which can be much more easily mobilised. Therefore, the weaker conventional force would be more tempted to go nuclear. It is only prudent for Russia to make this temptation as unattractive as possible. These games of deterrence are, of course, highly risky. The consequences of error or misunderstanding are unthinkable.

The first half, vs. 1-9 describe the plot (verse 5) and the nations that have joined or conspired together to commit the action. All of the nations listed encircled Israel, with the exception of Assyria. Assyria was NOT modern Syria. Assyria stretched out over the southern parts of Iran and Iraq and included the region that would later be settled and grow into Teheran. So all of these nations are supported by (i.e., being supplied by) Assyria. Note that one of Israel's traditional enemies, Egypt, is not listed as participating. The second half, vs. 10-19, is a prayer of imprecation, asking G_D to treat them the way their ancestors treated the Israelites years before. The section refers back to Judges, chapters 4-8. These chapters describe how Israel abandoned G_D, G_D allowed Israel to be conquered, eventually the people return to G_D, G_D raised up someone to rescue them, and after throwing the invaders out, the Israelites would have peace for 20 years. Then the cycle would repeat. In particular, chapter 8 describes Gideon. Gideon's army is vastly outnumbered, yet they are able to defeat the larger armies arrayed against them. In doing so, they pass by several towns and ask for support and supplies; the towns refuse. Gideon eventually captures and kills Oreb, Zeeb, Zebah, and Zalmunna. He then goes back and punishes the cities that wouldn't help them. This second section describes all the things Israel (aided by G_D) did to their ancient enemies, and is calling on G_D to repeat those punishments. The author isn't calling for punishments from the sky to fall on them, only that the great victories be repeated.
Muzhik, Sounds good but you can't be 100% certain, correct? Do you think that the 3-Days of Darkness is a chastisement from God and when do you think this will occur? Do you think that the only worldwide chastisement sent from God will be after the Gog-Magog war? No arguments from me because I am asking since I do not know.
I may not be 100% certain, but I am 99% certain. As all chastisements in the past have started small and only grown greater the more people resisted G_D's grace, in this case we have a chastisement (the destruction of armies, nations, and such) directed at a small group (the group plotting to destroy the Apple of the Eye of G_D). Prophetic texts and the writings of saints indicate that while some conversions may occur at this time, the large part of people will reject G_D and so the groups of those being punished will grow larger and larger until it is worldwide. The 3 Days of Darkness only make sense when you consider it as part of a teaching regarding the End Times that teaches: it will be a recapitulation of the Passion of Jesus, which was a recapitulation of the 10 Plagues of Egypt. While most people, when thinking of the Plagues of Egypt, think about the Nile turning to blood and the deaths of the firstborn, just before these deaths came three days of darkness, where it was so dark you could not see your hand in front of your face, and the only lights came from the lamps burning in the houses of the Israelites. Likewise, Jesus spent 3 days in the darkness of the tomb. Both of these Day of Darkness were final events before the culminating events: the deaths of the firstborn and the resulting liberation of the Israelites, and the Resurrection of Jesus which liberated us from sin and death forever. So if the timetable proposed by "A Catholic Jew" is true, in about 2 weeks we'll have the Warning. This will result in the conversion of many people who are on the fence about their relationship with G_D. Some of these conversions will be immediate; others will take place after a long period of "internal reflection" (which is not always as peaceful and calm as the phrase suggests). While some Muslims may convert at this time, many others, particularly those who have a personal stake in Islamic Power, will argue that the Warnings were demonic in origin, and that they are a call by Allah to destroy Israel once and for all. This will accelerate the planning and cooperation among the groups sponsored by Iran, possibly with the cooperation of ISIS. Sometime this spring (because believe me, you NEVER start a war in winter, even in the Middle East), things will come to a head. The War of Psalm 83 will begin. Based on previous wars that Israel has fought, I don't expect it to last longer than 3 weeks. At the end, the PA (as one of the belligerents -- The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, of Moab and the Hagrites, ...) will cease to exist and the PA will become fully part of Israel as the regions of Judea and Samaria. (The Ishmaelites are the Palestinians, living as refugees in tents. Many of them live in central Jordan, which is Edom. Moab is the southern part of Jordan and the Hagrites were tribes originating in present-day Saudi Arabia. Ammon is in northern Jordan and is the basis for the name of the capital, Amman.) Since Jordan got dragged into it -- either that or watch the Jordanian monarchy be overthrown -- then they will suffer loss of territory also. (In Ezekiel 38-39, there is a valley that will be used to bury the dead from that war. That valley is currently inside Jordan, just on the other side of the Jordan River.) The Golan will also become part of Israel, as will Gaza. Ultimately, with its territory increased, Israel will have a period of peace, safe from any enemies around her. It's quite possible that the end of this war will coincide with the Miracle, which will also result in the conversion of many Jews. In any case, in the period of peace to follow, we will see growing battle lines being drawn between the followers of G_D and the followers of not-G_D. (By "not-G_D" I mean the Freemasons, the followers of the Occult, and those churches that call themselves Christian but have taken to preaching sin as truth.) Remember the parable of the farmer sowing seed: 3 And he spoke to them at length in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep, 6 and when the sun rose it was scorched, and it withered for lack of roots. 7 Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it. 8 But some seed fell on rich soil, and produced fruit, a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold. 9 Whoever has ears ought to hear.” (Matthew 13:3-9) After the Warning, there will be many who will get off the fence. Many will try to reform their lives, but because they have rejected G_D for most of their adult lives, they will be eaten by the birds. Some will become believers, but when the persecutions begin (as they did in the times of the Apostles) they will revert to their previous beliefs ("I'm OK -- G_D won't send me to Hell because I'm a nice guy.") Others will get off the fence, but will never leave it because they are scared of life without having to rely on their material goods ("Why do I have to give up my Smartphone? See, I can use it to bring up Bible quotes and sermons and only a little Snapchat porn, definitely not what I used to, but I'll do better, I promise!") But others will embrace what G_D has shown them and will work to get those other "seeds" to move to the good soil! It's important to recognize the order that Jesus presented the fruits. In modern inspirational speeches, it would be "30, or 60, or 100 fold!" to encourage us to do our best. Instead, it's presented in the opposite order, largest to smallest, to emphasize that it is not the size of the return that is important. It is to tell us that we are not responsible for the size of the return. If we open ourselves to be G_D's voice and face and feet, if we choose to accept the richness of the good soil, then whatever fruit we bring in is acceptable and joyful for G_D. After this period of peace (and remember: this is peace for Israel, not necessarily for any other part of the world) enough time will have past that people will convince themselves that the Warning was their imaginations or mass delusion or the Great Spaghetti Monster coming to dinner, and will look at how Israel has profited during her period of peace, and they will again seek to destroy Israel and take much loot and spoil. Thus, the War of Gog and Magog. This war will involve a greater part of the world, but still not the entirety. It will be the nations and their descendents who tried to enslave or destroy Israel in the past. This time, it won't be just a Marian miracle (the Miracle) that will mark the end of the war, it will be something much more focused and specific to the extent where people will either recognize it as coming from G_D (fire from heaven destroying the armies massing against Israel; as well as falling on mosques around the world, destroying them but leaving the church across the street untouched; or falling on the local anti-Semitic political party headquarters -- that sort of thing) or they will remain stubborn and willful in their ignorance. Remember: these events that will affect Israel will be independent of any disasters or chastisements occurring elsewhere in the world.
Muzhik, A Little too much caffeine today? But thank you. I have the same question as Dean. I know that the Catholic Jew suggested Oct 18th for the Warning but he has been wrong about other dates. You think this is a good date because it is the Feast of Tabernacles, the 18th and that we should be getting close? are there other reasons? and I was going to ask about this when you said many people think it is possible for this date, who else? It is always possible it could be anytime now but I would just like to hear your reasoning, if you don't mind - you have been so kind answering all of my other questions. TY. Re-reading your post I realize that you have BofP83 in between the W & M, I was thinking the CJ might be correct about the date of Aug 1, 2017 for a war involving Israel but not the Gog-Magog war, possibly the BofP83. And because of the timing of the WCWTS I think that the end of this war may coincide with the rise of the AC/FP. This is all conjecture of course.

Carol55, if you're looking for a more specific date, consider what St. Bridget of Sweden (died 1373) wrote in a book of her prophecies that was published in 1873: "When the feast of Saint Mark shall fall on Easter, the feast of Saint Anthony on Pentecost, and that of Saint John on Corpus Christi, the whole world shall cry, 'Woe.'" The Feast of Saint Mark commemorates Mark the Evangelist and takes place on April 25. Saint Anthony's feast falls on June 13. The Feast of St John is fixed at June 24. The Feast of Corpus Christi is a moveable feast, which means that it depends on the date of Easter Sunday. It is celebrated on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday, which falls one week after Pentecost Sunday. SO: In 2038 Easter is on April 25 (the latest date it can fall) which is the Feast of St. Mark. In 2038 the Feast of Corpus Christi falls on June 24, which is the Feast of St. John. In 2038 Pentecost falls on June 13, which is the Feast of St. Anthony.

Well no one should be surprised at this, since it was our Lady of Fatima that told us what Russia would do if the Consecration of RUSSIA, (not the World) did not take place. But there are the wishful thinkers who want to believe the consecration took place in 1984. But, they can't explain how come the world has gotten dramatically worse since then and the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary has NOT taken place. No one wants to go through the purification of this world and that is why I think there are those who want to believe that all is well with Russia, but the evidence is simply not there to support their hopes.
Actually I got a post on facebook which I read this morning which has caused me very considerable trepidation. It suggests that an order has gone out to the US military suggesting that service families be withdrawn from their military bases over concerns about Syria, suggesting a nuclear exchange is likely there with Russia. I am trying to trace this now and will post. . There appears to be similiar but more widespread movement of evacuation and preparedness in the Russian Federation, they are making no secret of this.

I have to preface this post by asking pardon for my ignorance on military matters, but.................. During the Soviet era, the Russians could count on the standing armies of the Warsaw Pact countries. Putin doesn't have that advantage whereas NATO will now have the support of those armies. Although they wouldn't be nearly as well trained or well equipped as the US military, they will be fighting for their countries and will put up some kind of resistance. Also, isn't it true that technology is almost as valuable as manpower these days? I'm thinking drones, etc. which weren't a factor in the cold war days.
